Most popular (non-sports) blog!

awinner.jpgI'll keep doing this as long as one person is reading, but according to our web traffic, Under the Dome is the most-read blog among those published in our three-newspaper group (Whittier, Trib and Star-News). It's actually No. 4 -- the first three are our prep sports blogs, which draw a rabid brand of loyalty and interest.

For anyone who's joined recently, here's a random selection from the past eight months since the January 12 launch:

(queue the blur lines as Steve Keaton says "Remember the one time when Alex got arrested protesting for the ERA?")

After a particularly long council meeting, I said what everyone was thinking: (then) Councilman Paul Little really can talk.

Reviewed how the election campaign played out on the Internets.

Exposed former Councilman/Mayor Rick Cole's youthful over-exposure.

Paul Little demonstrated the commendable quality of being able to laugh at himself.

Witnessed a riveting election.

We waxed on the importance -- but difficulty -- writing about race-related issues.

Explored the Dark Side of the Moon Mayor.

Interjected some sex in response to one strip club's provocative political pitch.

Were surprised by developments on the PUSD school board.

Listened as Paul Little left on a musical note.

Pinned Councilman Chris Holden down on some tough questions.

The complete list.

Said goodbye to a strip club and the opposite to a nursery. In related news, Councilman Steve Haderlein overcame writers' block to send a shoutout to District 4.

Discovered -- with the help of our male readers -- something sexy about Dennis Kucinich.

Learned Pasadena's "Second Choice for Mayor since 2007" is a terrorist!

Heard two takes on the Heritage Square schism.

Caught up with former PUSD Trustee Prentice Deadrick.

Enjoyed Rene Amy.

Held our first contest.

Mused on Pasadena's Seven Wonders.

Received the the most comments.

And laughed at my absurdity.

Posted 140 updates to the tune of 547 comments. Deleted three times that in pharmacy/pr0n spam.

Most importantly of all, there's been some vigorous discourse in the comments -- even the dumb stuff.

Considering the Paul Little-laden content, perhaps I should be the self-seeker of laurels regarding the popularity of this blog (or maybe it's those two erudite, jaunty and thin-skinned canines who do such a good job of sleeping away hot summer days in our air conditioned house). Glad you're here hosting this. Keep it up. Paul
Loved every entry and yours remains a true favorite of mine. Now back to putting on eyeliner at Gitmo. LOL. - AP
Geez! The ego on some people. What was posted about editor Larry that he made you take down? Somebody strike a sensitive nerve, did they?
