Greetings all-

If word has not yet spread throughout the blogosphere already, the former host of this blog, the great Fred Ortega, has left the paper and is now busy clearing up the public's misconceptions about tax policies in his new communications job at Judy Chu's office.

About me: My name is Dan Abendschein, I formerly worked at the Tribune, covering at various times West Covina, Covina, Glendora, the courts, the cops, regional politics, etc. etc. I live in Pasadena (District 7) and have done so for about a year and a half.

I like the city for its access to excellent hiking, and abundant trees. It is also one of the better cities in the county to get a beer in.

I also recently shaved my head, and I like to garden.

If I think of anything else, I will mention it in a later post.

I'll be covering city hall, some regional politics, and maybe a few other things- anybody who thinks we are missing a key (or not so key) story in Pasadena, you can get in touch with me at dan.abendschein@sgvn.com.
