Dr. Drew distancing himself from Las Encinas hospital

| | Comments (1) |

The Los Angeles Times followed up on the story that Pasadena's Aurora Las Encinas hospital is being investigated by the state because of three deaths and a rape at the facility, by interviewing Dr. Drew Pinsky, the celebrity doctor who hosted his VH1 show at Las Encinas hospital.

Dr. Drew told the paper that it was a "bizarre misconception" that he is associated with the hospital. Today, the Times reports, the hospital's web site took down a photo of Dr. Drew that had long been posted there. The reporter interviewing Dr. Drew had told him about the photo, which he said he was not aware of.

It seems somewhat odd to me that he is taking this position. It's quite part of the picture that strange things do go on in mental wards, after all, there is a lot going on. But Dr. Drew sounds defensive. There must be a reason for that.
