La Crescenta shark trader indicted

Bond villains everywhere will be disappointed to learn that Eduardo Fernandez Carvajal, 57, was indicted for trading protected leopard sharks.
Apparently, the shark's small size and leopard-like markings make it a desirable aquarium addition for the extremely wealthy/bored.
According to the federal indictment, Carvajal was fishing for the sharks off the Pacific coast, driving the animals out of state, and shipping them around the country.
Federal prosecutors don't really much care for the trafficking though, since the animals are protected.
By the way, I've noticed our Los Angeles federal authorities are quite active in disrupting illegal wildlife traders. Remember the turtle guy? Or the butterfly man?
