Hollywood and Science Unite at Caltech

Panel discussion for new film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" brings
together Hollywood's Keanu Reeves and Caltech researchers

WHAT: Panel discussion and screening of the new Keanu Reeves film,
"The Day the Earth Stood Still." Discussion will include Reeves,
director Scott Derrickson, and--from Caltech--astrophysicist Sean
Carroll and roboticist Joel Burdick.

The panel discussion will follow a screening of portions of the film,
which opens nationwide on Dec. 12. Students, faculty and staff
members will fill Caltech's Beckman Auditorium to hear how the science in the movie meshes with real world scientific research.

I'm guessing the astrophysicist and the roboticist are going to do a little more of the scientific heavy lifting at this lecture.
