More tree concerns in Pasadena

| | Comments (0) |

I have been getting a lot of email about Pasadena's plans to cut down a bunch of mature shade trees on Colorado Boulevard- a lot of people missed the story we ran on the subject and didn't know what was going on.

The latest scuttlebutt, which I have heard from a couple of people, is that the trees to be cut down are marked so that the public doesn't have a good view of them, with signs hanging on the street side of the trees, instead of on the side facing the sidewalks. One person also claims, and I can't currently verify this, that some trees are marked as being cut down because of disease, which would obviously be inaccurate.

I do have the feeling that there is going to be some blowback about this once people see the trees actually get removed, especially where the palm trees, which do not offer any shade, get installed.
