Peterson ran for 300+ yards against a crappy Gabrielino team. If beating up on overmatched teams fullfills your personal enjoyment than good for you. I want to see Peterson do the same thing to St. Francis and Monrovia. IT WON'T HAPPEN! Comparing Peterson to Reggie Bush is like comparing a pinto to a lamborghini. THERE IS JUST NO COMPARISON!

GloucesterCoach which years did you play at SP?

As far as predictions go...anyone out there predict the Maranatha game?
Maranatha 42
Flintridge 12

The only time you can compare somebody to Reggie Bush is if their parents live in a free house.

How forntunate I am to be in Monrovia... the team is winning... the boys are working hard... there's a buzz in the community... and, tonight, we face a steep challenge by the top-ranked visitors from the East.

It should be a fine night of football... I hope you all can make it.

Go Cats!

I don't pick scores, because even if the score is 99 to 98, and Monrovia has 99 then I'm still happy.

I do pick Monrovia.

I guess th e people who voted in your paper's poll about who the best h.s. running back in the are is, got it all wrong. I say, let's do it again. If Peterson was wearing the number 5 on his jersey,(the colors are correct!) we would be thinking deja` vu! He's the real deal!

GloucesterCoach said:

I'm going to out on a line and be thr first to pick Monrovia over West Covina.
Monrovia 24 vs.West Covina 21
TC 35 vs. SG 7
Burroughs 6 vs. St.Francis 42
Glendale 7 vs. South Pas 35
Alhambra 28 vs. Arroyo 7
Hoover 14 vs. Blair 21

Any chance for South Pas against Alhambra next week?

Some prediction I made. I guessed Peterson would go for 200 yards. I was only off by 140....This is why I said from day one, just give him the ball and follow his lead. He's the x-factor in the Rio Hondo League title chase

Two monster games from Thursday night to report....

First, Lavelle Peterson from La Canada broke 2 school records in a 40-0 rout of Gabrielino. He rushed for 340 yards and five touchdowns -- both school records. Rumor is if they left him in, he could have gone for 400.

Pasadena High quarterback Tyron Crockom was sensational too, throwing for 386 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 victory....

Yeah, New York, my common sense told me not to predict the out come of the arcadia game after the first 2 games. I figured it was bad luck to try to predict the outcome. I heard we beat a good bell garden team 29-0. BG is now 2-1.
The apaches are finally back.

As far as the Monrovia game, If it's close at halftime I give the nod to MHS. This team is looking more like the teams of old. They get better in the second half and so far this year No major turnovers which was their major weakness in the last two years...Go RHL.........
