My pick for AOTW is Lavelle Peterson. He had 10 carries for 384 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns Thursday night. I think it's time for all of you to get on board and just put the MVP of the area to rest.

And here come the nay sayers.

This kid is a man child at the varsity level. He's a freshman with Great, fundamentals, speed, athleticism and toughness. St.Francis has a weapon. He could've been a starter since the beginning of the season.

Definately Dietrick Riley. For a freshman to make a Varsity debut like that is very impressive. Look for good things to caome from him for the next three years.

I will second that vote for Kyle Delahooke - for all the same reasons, plus the fact that he consistently performs at every game. I would venture to say, however, that Maranatha back to back athletes of the week might cause some unrest among the bloggers.

Kyle Delahooke from Maranatha!!!
Besides kicking a game winning 37 yard field goal in overtime, Kyle went 5/5 of PAT's, 6 tackles, and had some of the most devistating blocks that allowed Mark Love to rush for 179 yards on 23 carries.
Kyle Delahooke baby!

It's got to be David Potts. he has matured so much in three years. his poise in the pocket makes him a real good quaterback. he isnt just looking to run but he's lookin to pass and if it's not their he can take you to the promise land with his legs

Burbank,
I think Volleyball typically receives the femal AOW. Unfortunately, the male AOW is sometimes split with such sports as Waterpolo, and whatever else the CIF can dream up.

David Potts - Monrovia he kept them moving when the running game stalled, the offensive line did a great job protecting him but needed help on the line on the right side.

David Potts had another BIG night for the cats thrusday night. After sitting out the Blair game a week ago he came back and made his preasence felt. He went 18 of 28 for 160 yrds and one critical TD pass to put them up by 2 TDs. Potts is a playmaker although he is not leading in yards I would still pick him over any QB in the Area!

--------------------------

WR Fernado Gonzales also had a Big night as he caught most of the balls thrown by Potts. He finished with 6 receptions for 97 yrds. and 1 TD.

--------------------------

Braodnax from TC carried his team to a win over a solid LC team as he finished with 205 yrds on 43 carries.
