big boy, what... because u say that monrovia, tc, and la salle are sorry, everyone is suppose to agree with you???? you are sadly mistaken boy. Muir is a very good football team and they usually have one or two playmakers that can score on you at will but saying that now the schools i just mentioned earlier are respectively good this year. Some say monrovia would give muir a lost if they would of played. I dont agree but i will say it would be a close game and not a blowout. and as far as temple city goes i dont know if u would get them either with a healthy broadnax. I'll say it now t.c. has the best o-line in the area and i dont know if those boys from muir could hang. Im sure u would get la canada though or any other teams in the area with the exception of maybe st. francis. but these teams are not sorry this year and u should show respect where its due jus like we do for muir. everyone has their school that they represent and u jus gotta live with that bigboy

bigboy said:

ok...um...well if u as k me..all those schools u guys are talkin about la canada, monrovia, temple city, marshall, la salle..they all trash!!
muir is the best team around and i havent read anyone talkin about em..sad..and la salle and marshall those sorry @ss mofos thinking they coulda hang with us last year.. pff pleeease. any way u guys are talkiin about really terrible teams and i dont see the point. holla at me.

We'll see about that, TC. Between monrovia, temple city and la canada. all three of these schools can take it while we shut lc out tc barely beat them but then they put the hammer down on us in a tough loss. so its anyones game in the playoff for the RHL i see all three of those teams going far in the playoffs thats if mhs and lchs win their coin tosses and tie breakers

philly b. i know tc works harder than monrovia because one of their coaches sadi it to me when i told him that temple city wakes up at 5:30 am for six weeks in the summer to run on that track and lift weights then goes back to practice at 5 in the afternoon. the monrovia coach looked at me and said "we can't get our boys up that early in the morning to work like that"

In sports, you can not make comparisons from one game to the next. I stand by my previous prediction, no one from the RHL will win the CIF title…at least the Catnips or TC. No one with a player named Broadnax (maybe Broadnacks, or Broadnicknacks) and certainly a team with a quarterback named Potts (maybe Marijuanas) will be allowed by the Gods to appear in the headlines as champions of the Mid Valley division. I guess crack is cheap in Monrovia but, you “guys have to stop taking the recreational drugs. The Monrovia/La Salle game was an aberration…oh, oh…I may have to explain that one to Filly Bee………La Salle 50, Mary Star 7 “clinched their league title with a win over Mary Star……….. Temple City 41, Monrovia 24...Well phileee bea to conclude your self-fulfilling prophesy, I guess TC had broadnax Friday night. Let the crying begin in M-town.

To Titan,

It looks like all you will be doing is stopping running backs in this league, maybe you guys shoud focus on getting a running back of your own to stop. Start focusing on how you are going to stop Lavelle Peterson!

New York said:

Titan,
Do the names Peterson and Wallace mean anything to you? I think it's safe to say that the Cats are battle tested. A 7-1 TC will be our greatest challenge to date, but we are also playing our best ball to date. Give your Titans some credit. They played beyond themselves, until the reality of evolution and Darwinism set in.

sorry lancer calstatela is a div II school and they dont have takcle football. but best believe i still know how to hit. dont be fooled thats just the title of the class we hit hard on mondays and wednesdays.

Believes, sorry but i feel that south pas was over rated coming into league with their 5-0 record. i was impressed with the 6-0 loss to temple city but after that what happened. i mean 32-0 loss to la canada???? if any other tema deserves to be ranked its san marino i didnt expect them to play like they did aginst the cats, especially with the speed that we have they won sloppy against blair, that should never happen playing blair should be almost like practice. no disrespect but it is what is that program is a work in progress. so my opinion still stands south pas should not be ranked. period and if they lose this friday to sm. there season is done because theirs no way they'll pull an upset against monrovia.

I cant wait for this game on friday just to show the area that monrovia is for real. yeah sp/sm is also playin but i still think that regards to sp/sm's history this game is much more exciting, it would sell more tickets basically.

Lancer Double8s and New York,
that park in Pasadena is Eaton Blanche Park, on Del Mar Blvd. I grew up 5 houses from there. We played baseball, over the line, and football every day, rain or shine. That is where I learned to catch a football so well. Ahh, the memories.

Lancer Double8s said:

New York, There's a park on Del Mar just west of Kinneloa, Nov. 23rd.

Lancer Double8s said:

Nice call Rampride...so if Broadnax isn't TC's entire team why is that your excuse for losing to the Lancers? They can't beat lowly La Salle without one guy? Pretty weak. TC's players were talking big before the game, then whining when they knew they were beaten, particluarly Andy H. Good luck against M-Town this week, you'll need it.

New York said:

LS fans should quit reminding everybody that the score was 21-12 after 3 quarters. That means you guys got outscored 31-7 in the fourth quarter, that's WILDCAT quarter.

rampride TC IS THE BIGGEST JOKE! IMAGINE THIS: No broadnax = no wins. TC revolves around broadnax, without broadnax they would be getting smashed like Blair. La Salle is a joke?? Oh im sry if the temperature wasn't to your likings TC, but please GROW SOME *****! O BOO HOO you had to play on a hot sticky saturday afternoon and you lost. I think something is showing to who is better prepared...
Riley Saxon?? O yea he can get the job done. Last drive for TC against la salle, Saxon has 4 downs and throws 4 incompletions, with the last one ending up in my backyard. Andy H you say??? I'll save you from more embarrasment.

Neutral said:

Might I remind you all that it was 21-12 after 3 quarters in the Monrovia La Salle game. A few dropped passes and int's and interceptions that were all LS's faults late in the game and we would be talking different. Monrovia has a soft secondary though they are fast, they could be more disciplined in their coverages. Yes Monrovia ended up blowing out La Salle but come on, LS is a new team now after 3 wins in a row over ranked teams. Also if you look at LS strength of schedule compared to that of other Mid-Valley teams you would see that LS has BY far the hardest schedule week in and week out. Monrovia should be #1 until they lose (not saying they will) but come playoffs anything can happen.

rampride said:

ok so here it is.. la salle is a joke they did beat temple city on a saturday afternoon oh yeah dwight broadnax did suit-up but didnt take one play. monrovia is for real but so is temple city friday night will be a battle who ever wins that game will be the number one team around. santa clara is nice but they arent gonna get the job done against either m-town or tc. temple city is not a one man team has everybody forgotten about the o-line? or quaterback riley saxon? maybe lets forget andy h.? temple plays hard and works harder they are number one in my book

trkcoach53 said:

I agree with Double 8's, the playoffs are merely 3 wks. away. That's when the real games begin. The playoff teams in the Mid-Valley for the most part have been determined, the order of finish hasn't. But we shall see.

Lancer Double8s said:

ooooooeee! maybe the guys on this blog should strap it on. You Monrovia guys must not watch anything but Monrovia football. I will say nothing on Monrovia/La Salle...just hope it happens again.

Philly B. said:

so johnathan..... who is the better running back in your opinion? Davis or Broadnax? im not talkin stats because we all know that davis is part of the two headed monster in the backfield with sparks, but im just talking talent at the position. actually I open this question to all, who is the better athlete in the position of running back.

to all la salle fans win your league then start talkin not the other way around especially when it comes to monrovia. like johnathan said you la salle fans hold no water when it comes to monrovia. you guys got spanked, no couple mistakes, SPANKED!

Rio Hondo Dad said:

It is good to see Maranatha doing so well best of luck in your quest of the title

Johnathan said:

crazyqube. No he did not. I was standing on their sideline the whole game, he was suited but did not play. What game were you watching?

Furthermore, saying La Salle would beat Monrovia is ludicrous. Maybe if the score was 21-19, or 24-19. The game was 52-19 and if you read any of Steve Garrison's quotes you would know that his team played horrible. Imagine if Monrovia came out with some fire against the Lancers.

trkcoach53 said:

It would be a barn burner but L S would prevail. The playoffs will be very interesting. But all teams should not look ahead just play the proverbial one game at a time.

Jonathan, Broadnax DID PLAY in the game against La Salle. 'nough said! Don't give me any injury talk they had the same on the LS side.

crazyqube said:

Observantcat,I will take on that bet, should it happen. Remember LS played a Verbum Dei with as much team speed as Monrovia and you all know the outcome of that game. We know the records of the team and right now all I can say is you got scoreboard. I am just waiting to see how things shake out after this weeks games. Good luck on Friday HOMER!

Johnathan said:

Trojanator...wow. I don't think you've actually seen Broadnax play. He has tremendous vision and is an exceptional back. He may not be the biggest, or the strongest but you can't deny the results. La Salle did well against TC and had an excellent game planned. There scheme was pretty flawless. However you can't deny that the whole complection of that game would have been different had Broadnax played. La Salle "block of cement" line didn't do much against runners like James Davis and Shawn Sparks, so your theory holds no water nor does their 3-5 record. Being a homer is one thing, but this is ridiculous. BTW I guess Barry Sanders wasn't much of a runner jumping over defenders and juking them out of their jocks.

Philly B. said:

observantcat hit it right on the nose. you might have lineman that can pancake the opposition, but i give you this anonymous. how do u block or tackle what you cant catch??????? exactly we are too fast around the ball then la salle. and thinkin about it now i dont know if u would get past duarte. anonymous i would raise you two double double's if monrovia plays la salle again in the playoffs. yeah you got t.c. slippin and yes that west coast passing offense you guys have is real good. but what you and t.c. lack is team speed. monrovia has it as well as duarte. the only reason we have the upper hand on the falcons is because of coaching. i guess you dont remember back in the day we used to scrimmage la salle before the season would start. it was like we were using them for practice for our much faster offense. please just let it go, anonymous u cant see the cats, 52pts showed that. as well as poor tackling and execution

Mr. Anonymous La Salle Fan.

I think you hae your coaching all wrong when it comes to your strategy against Monrovia. Remember the score was 21-0 after just playing 5:31 seconds of the first quarter and it was the Monrovia offense that ate your defense alive. Your running game is much too slow to keep up with a good quick defense. TC's biggest mistake was to play your game and try and wear each other down. The Monrovia score could have reach way into the 70's or maybe even the 80's if Garrison wanted to be a grinch. The best part of your game was your pass offense, I will give the team credit for that but for every great play on offense your team made a costly mistake against a better defense. You would be wise to choose someone else to want revenge on unless your team is suicidel. I dont think you guys would get past Duarte....

I will grant you that a good team makes it's opponents pay for it's maistakes and Monrovia made LS pay. The Lancers have been playing mistake free and that has been the big diffrenece in their recent sucess. They will continue their winning ways, now that they have found the formula to success.Would I rank them in the top 5, no. They do not deserve it. They are 5 and 3 and I agree with Fred on this. Philly B,
I have to agree with you about South Pas being in the Top 10. I think the only reason they are in it is because of there 5-0 start and wins against Alhambra and San Gabriel. After getting spanked by LC , they should not be #9.

Go Bruins. At least UCLA doesn't pay there players....er, did I say that?

didnt you have all thos eguys when you played monrovia and what was the outcome 52-19 albert arnold took care of business in the trenches. i think you need to worry bout your own league before lookin over at who you wanna take out in the RHL. so broadnax is prancing like a bunny????? i thought he was a bruiser avg. 200 something yds. per game. well monrovia's middle linebacker Lua will give him something to hop and prance about. hes always around the ball. our defense is improving by the weak especially our run defense. yeah our pass defense need work but we will improve for sure

Philly B. said:

wow burbanksports is village christian really that bad that blair would out right win in that league. thats funny, when their ranked #5. i wish i can see them play.

observantcat, "contenders in the league" with the league that duarte is in, they should win that league every year. people talk smack about how predictable the RHL is but duartes league is ridiculous. we expect duarte to win that league. also dont get too excited and think that if duarte picks up a rhl team to play in the playoffs, that it will be a good game. think about all the hype when every rhl team was getting wins and look what happened. the same two teams fighting for the championship on friday and sm,sp,and lc fighting for third same ol same ol. only difference is that this division is fairly weak as everyone knows. so their will be a couple of local teams going somewhat far in the playoffs. but other than that everything is pretty scripted most will agree

Trojanator said:

HAHAHHAHAH BIG M i hope i dont catch you crying when you watch Monrovia's season come crashing down come playoff time (that game against San Marino didn't help your case of superior either). Fred yes i am a trojan fan but i dont think they need to be ranked higher than 20th. They have played extremely poorly and do not deserve to be ranked at #9. With all that said i noticed at the TC/La Canada game that broadnax enjoyed hopping around the field, mostly over the D line. Had broadnax played against la salle' alex jimenez, a beast of an end, tommy quigley, a cannonball who's hardly moved, or casey hilland, a 6'3 290 block of cement that tosses lineman around as if he were playing against a pee-wee football team, he would be resting 6 feet below. RB's are taught to stay low, why is he hopping around?? Is that how he injured his ankle, prancing around like a bunny?? Frankly im tired of hearing about broadnax and TC, they are a one man team revolving around broadnax and would fail miserably had he been injured this entire year. Hey Big M you can stay happy for at least one more week, TC is going to get hammered on friday like never before. Coach Mooney if your reading please forfeit or watch your players be stomped into the ground.

FRED,
That was a good one. And trojanator.... a few mistakes come on now a few mistakes is like a loss by two touchdowns not 52 pts. i think you are cutting checks for la salle that you can not cash man. you're better off going to nix cashing sayin that la salle will get Monrovia of all teams in the playoffs. it makes me laugh just thinkin bout it. but can you explain the whole fillmore, mary star, verbumdei, la baptist, you did lose me alittle bit. are they all in the same league or what. the way your explaining it you sound like the BCS computer. im with Bigmlover on this... you owe us some double-double's because monrovia's coaches wont allow la salle to beat us in the playoffs.

mr
im not a sm fan but apparently u werent at the game last thursday. if san marino plays the way they did against monrovia the rest of the season they'll be hard to beat. and if they get clipped because of some wack coin toss, then everyone in the division with exception for t.c, monrovia, and verbum dei, gets off the hook. but mr my alligiance is with monrovia but i give props where it is do.

La Salle beat T.C., head-to-head yes, but T.C. is 7-1 and La Salle is 3-5. You can't just forget about La Salle's five losses. And besides, Broadnax didn't play against La Salle. Don't you think that might make a difference in 21-14 game?

burbanksports said:

Arcadia in the Central top 10- what are you kidding me? Did you see how badly Burbank beat them? Burbank is the sleeper in the Central until they beat Burroughs next week.
Obviously the trojanator has never been to a Frontier League game. Not to mention that Fillmore will beat Santa Clara. Have you seen Village Christian play this year? Blair would probably win that league.

RHP isnt in the Mid Valley Division. Philly B and FRED! i dont understand why you would rank TC higher than la salle who lost to la salle! All these teams in front of la salle?! Who has santa clara played??!! weak sauce has filled their schedule. Fillmore got annhilated by LA Baptist who in turn lost to Mary Star, who then in turn got blown out of the water by Verb, who lost to La Salle. Sry that may have seemed confusing but the facts speak for themselves. As for La Canada they are too scared to even face La Salle, having lost twice to them in two years. Haha they thought they were scheduling a free win.
Philly B were you at that Monrovia La Salle game, cause if you were you would know that 52-19 win was nothing like a blowout. End of 3rd quarter Monrovia 21 La Salle 13. A few mistakes cost la salle the game. But after 3 wins in a row, one huge won over underrated Verb, they are the #1 team to look out for. If Monrovia and La Salle meet again in the playoffs, La Salle is takin Mo-Town DOWNTOWN!

Remember early in the game, I predicted that Duarte would show up and they have. I really think they could take a convincing 2nd or third place in the Rio Hondo league. They have matured as a team and deserve the respect of the other teams in the Mid-Valley division. They have been playing like they are definetly the contenders in the league. It will be interesting if they pick up a first round playoff game with one of the top Rio Hondo league teams.

Somewhere on the above bloggers polls you need to find a spot for RHP - which would mostly likely give some of those teams a run for their money - and this from a Maranatha Fan!

It's cool let duarte go under the radar, we dont need a top 10 vote, we know the deal

trojanator,
you're gonna tell me that la salle is number two on your list???????? you gotta be trippin. we blew those lancers out 52-19 and you mean to tell me that they're a number two team in the mid-valley??????? someones been drinkin. Givin i dont know much about the other leagues maybe fred can help with that but i still wouldnt put la salle no further than number 7 and thats being nice only because they took out temple city other than that they'd be a number 10. and duarte??????? they have the weakest schedule in the area hahaha. i mean besides monrovia and glendora in which those schools blew the falcons out, their schedule is a joke. and i mean a real funny joke. the only way duarte should be ranked is if they go undefeated in their league, in which they should. and even when that happens i would put them at #10. but my list goes somewhat hand and hand with cif
1.monrovia
2.temple city
3.santa clara
4.la canada
5.village christian
6.fillmore
7.san marino
8.la salle
9 l.a. baptist
10.verbum dei

south pas needs to be nonexistent in the top ten. they should be like miami university.....unranked!!!!! peterson lit that ball club and u mean cif is gonna give them #9????? give me a break they might not go to the playoffs due to a coin toss

Duarte needs to be ranked in the top 8. They are 6-2 with a 6 game winning streak. Two losses were to Monrovia in their opener and then to Glendora in week 2. Glendora is 5-3 with wins over Covina, Charter Oak, and Chino, among others.

Trojanator? I hate that name, I'm a Bruin fan. But my Mid-Valley poll looks like this:
1. Monrovia
2. Temple City
3. Santa Clara
4. Village Christian
5. Bishop Diego
6. La Canada
7. Fillmore
8. La Salle
9. L.A. Baptist
10. Verbum Dei

Lancer Double8s said:

EEEEEEEasy Tech Boi, I love La Salle as much as the next Lancer, but I wouldn't rank them above 7th. It's like the old coaches poll everyone used to grouse about in college, maybe High Schools should go to BCS?

I know one thing, no one in this crowd should vote for the polls except for you few (and I do mean VERY few) partial individuals on this blog.

I, for one, will not go into an upheaval about the rankings. For all you ex-ball players out there, you've got to love the playoffs. Strap 'em on and lets find out who is who.

Before the central comes out..Arcadia should be in the top 10...They would have won that game against Burrough's if it weren't for 3 or 4 fumbles by their runningback. Along with a touchdown called back on penalty. Arcadia is going to make noise in the playoffs if Burroughs is the #1 team.

tech boi said:

u mean santa clara! they played MARY STAR AND WON BY ONLY 7! whereas verb crushed them by 21! La Salle should be #2 or 3

crazyqube said:

What are these guys smoking? Cantwell, Bishop Diego?

GoldenBear said:

you gotta be kidding me, cantwell is still ranked above la salle???? La Salle smashed cantwell and is ranked 1st in CR league. I call Shinanigans!

Observer said:

Can someone elxplain to me why Cantwell is still ranked after they are 1-2 in league and will not make playoffs because they will finish 4th in the Camino Real League. That is some bs.

Why is the Valle Vista League in the Northwest Conference and the Frontier League in the Mid Valley? Oaks Christian has no business being in the Tri-Valley League.
Why doesn't the CIF acknowledge that private schools can and do recruit?
