Great post. Hope you write more on the subject soon.

I am not truly positive if greatest practices contain emerged roughly things similar to that, other than I am definite that your large job is obviously discovered. I was wondering if you offer several registration toward your RSS feeds since I would be very interested.

Amazing freakin blog here. I almost cried while reading it!

What a release to notice a piece of paper that may perhaps be present at last in reality importance reading! I’ve been seeking all-around regarding this issue except men and women now put rubbish posts, or brief empty article. I have viewed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the equal as reading a good article.

Nice piece of facts that you've got in this weblog publish. Hope I can get some additional of this stuff on your website. I'll appear back.

Fantastic information, thanks for sharing.

Fred--

I am far too worried about Aquinas to think about Big Bear. Poly was real for them. This happens. Lakers play and win one night against the same team they lose to two nights later. Give all the credit to Poly they deserve it. Can and will the get up for their next game (or two) like they did for the Kares we'll see. If RH Prep beats Aquinas be prepared for the Big Bear trip.

FredJ said:

Should I start making my reservations for a Poly-Big Bear matchup?
Finchamp, you saw Poly, they're the real deal.
But I wonder if they're always like that, or if RH Prep brought out something special in them.

p finchamp said:

Fred's a Kare fan but holds his professionalism above his favoritism...right Fred? Just nod your head...

burbanksports said:

Good point finchamp!
Watch Fred jump on the Kares bandwagon this week. After Poly loses this week-you'll have to save Fred a parking spot.
And Campa- bet the farm on Rancho Verde over Burbank.

p finchamp said:

Campa--

No question that I am a seductive guy but you have to stand by your picks and what you know. What Robledo knows is that if he keeps picking against RHP one day he will be right--that day finally arrived. Then he turns around and says he's not gloating...right!

A. Campa said:

Fred,

I have to give you your due...
last week's records:
Fred 17-2 (amazing)
CalPreps 15-4 (usual)
Campa 14-5 (disappointing).

I can't believe Calvary Chapel would forfeit to Marshall. Who forfeits to Marshall? My only upset pick that came through was St. Paul. I was seduced by the confidence of Burbanksports and Finchamp. Hopefully, both Burbank and RH Prep shake off their losses and get back to playing sound football.

FredJ said:

I don't want to gloat. I'm the same guy who picked Temple City to lose to South Pas, San Marino and Monrovia.
But I would like to know where Campa is, isn't this the time he's usually posting our weekly records?

Minuteman Fan said:

Sorry to hear about RHP - sounds like it was ugly - just about as much the the Maranatha loss - well now both teams need to re-adjust, realign, and get back in the game for the playoffs.

p finchamp said:

Go back to reading class, I never mentioned what you are saying. Nice choice of name--sure you're neutral.

Neutral said:

FINCAHMP, you still think RHP could beat La Salle? What was your qb tonight passing, 3-20 for 10yards? Anything to say about this? Let me hear your excuses please, because if RHP can beat La Salle, why couldn't they beat TC because apparently LS beat TC. Ya don't talk about these small area schools being better than the bigger private and public schools in the area.

burbanksports said:

Village Christian 44
LA Baptist 43

The RHL teams will easily beat these two.

p finchamp said:

The streak is over. Poly handled RHP rendering them ineffective at almost everything. A disciplined, well coached and skilled Poly team.

Tom S said:

Finchamp:
WOW, at least we scored a touchdown. Sorry man. The blimp didn't show up but there was a hot air balloon. Now we wait until Sunday and see where we stand.

Griff said:

Poly 20 Rio Hondo 0. Wait. Isn't Poly only #12 in the Star-News poll? How is that possible? 18-game winning streak? Fred Robledo called it.

p finchamp said:

Thanks burbanksports--

Startin' to feel the butterfies... We've got 4 parking spots and a bench for the Poly faithful. Assuming Fred drives that leaves 3 parking spots. Maybe Fred should hitch a ride on the blimp.

This is the 31st meeting between RH Prep and Pasadena Poly--they have met for the league championship many times. Poly players, especially seniors, want this game because they have never beaten RHP as JV or Varsity players. This game is a great prelude to the pending CIF playoffs for both teams. Go RIOOOO HONDOOO!!!!

burbanksports said:

Finchamp-
We parked the blimp at Fred's house in the space that said Poly Fans only.
Good luck tonight.

burbanksports said:

Campa-
Thanks for the encouragement. Even if we win the Central-we're still second best in the city. That's how it works around here.
At least the playoffs can help build something for the future, but we need consistant appearances in CIF year after year to undo years(decades) of mediocrity. Right now there's no fear of playing against Burbank. This applies to every sport-not just football.
Agree with you about Burroughs Volleyball, I'll be there tomorrow.

P Finchamp said:

Campa--

Good job calling anonymous out. Folks have been doing that all year but he's hiding....a Westridge grad I think.

A. Campa said:

Hey Burbank,

I wouldn't get too down about yesterday's Burroughs win if I were you. Remember, your team still qualified for its first playoff appearance since 2003 and can do some serious damage in the Central Division. Plus, you've just played the top team in the division and now know what it's going to take to win.

Hey...how about the Burroughs volleyball team. They should have been ranked all year long and are proving it in the playoffs.

A. Campa said:

Hey Anonymous,

First of all, don't talk about panties when you're the cat going by the name Anonymous. I make my predictions available for all to see and hear with my name- so I think you need to check yourself.

Also, want good does the video do? This is not an instant replay league. The officials don't have the luxary of using a video replay, so what's the point of going to the video.

Also, the Tribune Preps editor Aram Tolegian was at the game, right on the end zone marker and said the TD was valid. I'll take his word over some anonymous person.

I'm very fond of St. Francis and its football program. I attened another local private school that I could only wish had the same football tradition as St. Francis. However, I'm pretty certain coach Bonds and his staff are only focused on St. Paul this week. They could care less about some game a month ago, so I'm not sure why this matters to you.

I hope the Golden Knights prove my prediction wrong this week.

burbanksports said:

Campa
I couldn't even get the volleyball picks right. That was a great win for La Canada over Yucaipa. Burroughs looked very good against Cajon.

burbanksports said:

stang-
you're right. no excuses. we had a great opening drive, served notice and then went into a coma for the rest of the game.

Anonymous said:

Hey Campa, Bishop Amat did not win that game against St. Francis. That game was given to them. There is tape to prove it! So before you go and get your panties in a bunch, maybe you should review the tape to see who really won that game.

El Segundo 3-2 over Arcadia (agree)
Burroughs 3-1 over Cajon (disagree)

Pasadena 3-0 over Redlands (agree).

I imagine the competition in the parking lot is an issue too! The choirs, that's a riot. Good stuff man.

burbanksports said:

finchamp-
you're right, but here in Burbank every and I mean every Burbank vs Burroughs event is a full on battle for bragging rights. You should see it when the choirs from the respective schools compete-can get ugly! Ridiculous at times, but for the most part it's alot of fun.

p finchamp said:

burbanksports--

The only blip is that freshman score. I won't pretend to know Burroughs football but I have a lot of respect for it. You can't fool me, you are not putting any stock in a freshman game where at least 50% of the team is learning how to suit up in a football uniform for the first time.

If there is any air left in that blimp after the "Burbank Bash" we'll take it at RH Prep on Friday night.

p finchamp said:

2oldstroke--

Interesting name, can't figure it out. What private school are you referring to when you say "financial incentives?" I think many of us suspect that Oaks Christian is managing this somehow but are there schools in the SGV guilty of this. Please divulge and don't forget you are anonymous on the blog--actually that's mostly correct except for that blogger who uses it so very cleverly as his name.

2oldstroke said:

Hey stang thang,
It sounds like you went to public school with those brilliant comments. I went to PHS and played football and we never lost to Muir, they were a non entity then. Things change of course and we all grow up. My kids went to Maranatha a great school in all ways. Just give them a few years and they'll be playing Muir and give them a run for it.

Oh, and by the way Maranatha is a private school but unlike other private schools they don't recruit with financial incentives----------it's against CIF RULES!

I hear ya. SN coverage will be good and I anticipate that we will both enjoy the reading. WINNING is always important and this is Maranatha's opportunity to have the undisputed league title--looking forward to the next game is not a good idea at this point.

SB said:

Tom S,

Big Bear and St Margaret's are two different animals. SM has a weak schedule in a weak league and the combined record of their opposition is a whopping 40-49.

Last year in the semis, Rio Hondo totally outplayed and I was not impressed at all with SM last season.

Big Bear is in a tougher league and their opposition has a respectable combined 41-36-1 including one winless team.

Maranatha has less to lose in seeding, in my opinion that Rio Hondo does if they lose to Poly.

Ex-falcon said:

this is A statement game for monrovia going in to the playoff, they will have there best game of the season on thurday, 30-0 at the half.

TomS said:

Finchamp: Good thing for both schools that the Muir-PHS game is on Thursday this week. Frees up Saturday’s paper so the small schools can get top billing.
I didn’t say it’s not critical we beat WC this week. What I said was,
“It no longer matters whether we’re co-champions or champions of the Alpha league but where a win put us in the playoffs. A win keeps us 2nd ranked in the Northeast Division and 1st seed in the lower bracket. “A loss will drop us to 5th or 6th in the rankings and tougher scheduling in the playoffs.
A win keeps us in a different bracket than St. Margarets, and a loss might put us in the same bracket.
You guys are in the same boat as us the way I see it. A win keeps you 2nd ranked, champions of prep league and keeps you in a different bracket than Big Bear. A loss to Poly makes you Co-champions, knocks you down to 4 or 5 ranked and make you playoffs schedule more difficult.
I hope that makes sense.

Fred--

You're killin' me man. Poly has flown under the radar because they don't have any bloggers? Football has been played with accumulated stats and film long before blogging DETERMINED the outcome of games. Poly is not under the radar for RHP anymore than RHP is to Poly. Both teams run the same schemes they have historically. RH Prep has been knocking chips off opponents shoulders for years.

Fred, Tom S and Minuteman Fan--

You guys at Marantatha just can't get enough!!! Look, not only will you get great coverage but you'll also get covered by the East side group of SGVN (isn't that Murray's gig and WC "his team?").

Frankly I disagree with you Tom S. While I understand what you mean about seeding going into the playoffs the guys NEED to win league. It builds momentum going into the playoffs and likely puts you in a different bracket than St. Margarets. There is never a better time to demonstrate that you are prepared and can deal with pressure than a championship scenario....which you get this Friday. Good luck.

burbanksports said:

Campa,
If you are familiar with Robert Linda's situation, you can understand why Bulldog fans strongly believe this to be our year.

burbanksports said:

Campa,
Wiggan is good and Burbank may not "stop" him, but he's going to have to work very hard for his yards. I believe this game comes down to a battle of the QB's and Burbank's Robert Linda should win that battle. Linda may have an incredible game defensively as well.

TomS said:

Fred: I noticed a couple of weeks ago our posts went through immediately and it makes the whole thing much better than waiting for you to release. You can reply to anothers post right away and get their response. Please don't let a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of us.
And as I've said before
GO MIMUTEMEN!!!!!!

FredJ said:

Well you said it Prep Fan, it will be a great game and a close one. I think Poly has a chip on their shoulder. They owned the Pre League for years before RHPrep joined it. They were also in a couple championship games this decade and won one. I really believe they have more firepower than RHPrep this season. They've also flown under the radar because they don't have any bloggers talking about them. They're the quiet giant ready to do their blogging on Friday night.

A. Campa said:

Hey Burbank,

Since you've first starting posting, you've been pretty confident your boys would up end Burroughs. I'm taking Burbank in the upset despite the brilliant running of Joe Wiggan. How is Burbank going to stop him?

FredJ said:

Minuteman Fan makes an excellent point. Many of you season-long bloggers may have noticed that I have allowed your posts to be posted immediately, instead of reading and releasing every comment the way we started the season. It allows our bloggers to have immediate dialogue, and it's a reward for the tasteful way most of you have contributed to this blog throughout the season. I still check the threads regularly, and have eliminated some comments that aren't appropriate, but I hope it doesn't get to the point where I have to go back and start releasing comments again individually.
Use these blogs as a way of practicing your writing, and improving your communication skills. You'll be much more appreciated and your comments more respected if you do so.

Prep Fan said:

Hey Fred, I was just wondering why you're so confident that Poly will beat RHP. You've been saying it since the year started and I just wanted to know what you see. In my opinion it will be a great game and its really hard to choose who will win. I'll stick with the Kares though, 23-21.

Minuteman Fan said:

another thing stang...while everyone is entitled to their opinion, comments and school pride on the blogs that Fred J has graciously set up, we have been rolling right along without it becoming ugly, that is until you joined in. If you have so much faith and pride in your school, show it in what your write, and the way you write it - for the record, I have several family members that are either current students or alumni at Muir, I am thrilled that the Tussle will take place at Rose Bowl instead of moving it, it is a great game to watch, and I will be pulling for the Mustangs - in spite of the ridiculous postings of stang thang

Minuteman Fan said:

Ok, here’s my take on the very critical Whittier Christian vs Maranatha game Friday. It no longer matters whether we’re co-champions or champions of the Alpha league but where it put us in the playoffs. A win keeps us 2nd ranked in the Northeast Division and 1st seed in the lower bracket. Gives Maranatha a good shot to get into the 2nd and 3rd rounds and maybe a championship game against St. Margaret’s, no body is beating them. A loss will drop us to 5th or 6th in the rankings and tougher scheduling in the playoffs. So Minutemen fans, lets pack the stands at Whittier College and give our team all of our support for victory!!!!!
