Crutchfield back at Muir

| | Comments (32) |

Muir football coach Ken Howard informed me that Muir Hall of Famer Tony Crutchfield is returning to the Muir sidelines as a co-head coach and offensive coordinator. I wasn't around during the Crutchfield coaching days at Muir, but I remember him as a player. So football folks, what will this do to Stang football?

Crutchfield (Muir 1986) is a former AII-CIF and All-State linebacker and Co-Captain of Muirs back-to-back CIF Football Championship Teams of 1985 & 1986, a BYU three-year starter, and NFL Detroit Lions player

Small business owners tend to think that search engine optimization like most other forms of marketing can be an uphill struggle against industry behemoths, and they're right up to a point.

Will Tony be an on-campus teacher at Muir as well?

Tony has a long resume that includes University of Redlands and University of Idaho.

I think that Howard is doing a great job without Crutchfield. But, Tony will bring a great atmosphere and winning tradition to the mighty stangs. Congrats Tony. Is Tony's brother Wardell still coaching at Duarte? And if not, is Duarte looking for any coaches?

While it's probably pretty exciting for the program to have one of its legends returning home, play calling wasn't the real problem this season.

I hope coaches Crutchfield and Howard are able to keep their athletes eligible next season. It was a shame to see Muir lose 14 players for the playoffs. If that annual problem can be fixed that will mean so much more then improving X's and O's.

Any improvement over an obviosly unqualifed Howard is welcomed. Muir has the best athletes around, but the lack of quality coaching is their downfall.

I hope that Muir can come back just like the good ole'days. I remember when Bishop Amat could not even touch them. Go Stangs!

Good to see Crutchfield back with the football program at Muir.

This will obviously strengthen Muir's team. It surprises me that Crutch is listed as Offensive Coordinator, because he is and was a very effective Defensive coordinator. I'm glad to see he is back at Muir.

I just wonder if this is an indication of anything happening at Duarte High School.
