Mustangs beat Monrovia twice to win Monrovia tourney

| | Comments (8) |

Muir's fab four of Wallace, Henderson, Morris and Pierre living up to expectations.

The biggest local tournament this week is at Pasadena Poly, where Flintridge Prep, Flintridge Sacred Heart, La Salle, Maranatha, Marshall and South Pasadena are all competing.
The Azusa and Alverno tournaments also begin this week, but most locals are out of the area with Alhambra in the South Torrance tournament, Mayfield in the Liberty Chrisitan tourney, Rio Hondo Prep at the Webb tournament, and San Gabriel in the Covina Classic. Blogsters, keep us posted on what's going on throughout the week.

Now that football season is over, let's start talking girls basketball. All area teams are in the thick of pre-season games, trying to sort out what they have and what they need to do to be strong in league. From the early games it looks like Muir is the class of the area. Monrovia, eventhough they lost twice to Muir looks like they will be tough. La Canada's Lelo is torching right now but what's up with Ballard? South Pasadena won the Poly tournament but have they really played anyone? San Marino is kind of in the same boat. Haven't heard much from Keppel and Pasadena is horible, I think their JV team could beat them. Let's start the dialogue and get some good conversation going. No **** please but good honest talk.

P.S. Muir team is for real. Morris, Henderson and Wallace have game. #11 showed something in the final and #4 is crazy good. Just not sure how they'll stack up against division foes because their bench doesn't look very strong.

Yeah, Muir beat Monrovia twice but it was a good "beaten" for the Monrovia girls. Now they know what they have to do to get even better. Looking forward to an exciting season, especially in the Rio Hondo league which should be very tough this year.
