Renaissance won the Burbank tournament playing all upper-division schools. In that tourney they beat Keppel, Burbank and Glendale. Then in the Winter Slam Jam, they beat some tough city schools and took Division II-AA Simi Valley (7-2) to overtime for their only loss. The scary thing is they have no seniors on the team and their 6'8" sophmore center is inellgible until Jan.

I have been to a few games this year - including the LC/LS game. Is it me or is the talent way down this year in basketball in the area. Yes - LC blew LS away - Hoffman always has his team ready - but LC didn't look like they had the talent level as they have in the past. In fact LC (the number 2 ranked team) didn't look good in the game against LS. LS (the number 5 ranked team) looked bad - even with what a appeared to be a size advantage. (Maybe they will come back like their football team did). Does anyone feel the same way I do about the talent level in the area?

L S played it's worst game of the year according to the coach. Also I think team chemistry was altered because the football players were thrown in there with one day of practice. L C was firing on all cylinders.

...and revenge was a factor for L C, L S won last year's regular season match by 1 pt and also 2 times during the summer. So L C was definitely motivated.

Fred- nice job on the rankings. I think Keppel might be a little high and La Salle a little low. But we'll see. I have been hearing some noise about Renaissance Academy. Have they really played anybody? La Canada looked all world against La Salle. Never have i seen a La Salle team play that poorly.
