Here are some FACTS about last years senior class. 100% graduation rate. 99% accepted to 4-year school. 95% attended a 4-year school. So for St. Francis kids to be uneducated is not the truth. Any good ball player worth his salt knows that good solid baseball is played in streaks. The past week or so has proven that Pasadena Poly has been the hottest team in the San Gabriel Valley. Their players gave it their all and left it all on the diamond. Fellow bloggers, give credit where credit is due. This Prep League school of approximately 200 boys showed up at the right place, at the right time, against the right schools and played some damn good baseball. Being as Poly won the Arcadia-Elks Tourney, I really don't mind these St. Francis loud mouths claiming to be the best team in the area. Our team spoke with our abilities and did something no one would have thought possible two weeks ago.

Just a note if you compare poly with Rasmussen going to a Pac-10 school that's one, and SF has DePinto who's going to a Pac-10 school so you didn't come into the argument prepared.

And I like your opinions because you are not a parent of one the four pitchers that are talked about all the time. It is the same four parents who hype up their kids and in the end the kids pay the price. None of these kids are the next Greg Madux, Eric Gagne, or Roger Clemens for that matter. We can all agree that St. Francis has a good squad that because of their school's fiscal advantages should be the best in the WSGV. Some of the "insults" from the SF supporters is downright pathetic. I am still crunching numbers and trying to figure out why you are not ranked. Finishing 4-19 last year cracked in the preason top 10. Being 1-2 this year should at least be good enough to get you in the top 5. Last year a win % of .174 good enough to crack the top 10. This year so far a win % of .333(doubled last years) and still not good enough for some respect. Talk to me brother I will hear you out. Just let me know when you want to talk numbers.

thanks for noticing I was gone. Obviously I have not had much to say since it is not football season. But here are a couple of things on my mind #1) I can not believe a 4-19 team can be ranked in the top 10(Marianta) and #2) I can't believe a 4-16 team can be ranked 8th South Pas (truly amazing) #3) Also a 9-14 team (Arcadia) ranked 6th also very interesting. And I thought Robledo was responsible for these rankings until I found out that Camapa did them. ( just hope campa doesn't do the football rankings b/c we might see Martianta #1 and SF #2 and Marshall #3

how can people be putting down st. francis. the pasadena game they lost simply because they were flat, not because they got out played. they were up 3-0 in the seventh and put in subs that ended up making errors that lost the game. they went on the next day to dismantle sierra vista 13-1 and today they beat whoever they played 17-0. sure temple city won 19-0, but would they have done that against chaminade like SF did last year, no. also, what happened against loyola last year might not have been a fluke. i was at the first game and collis absolutely shoved it to the cubs. why does he not get any mention amongst mckiernan and rasmussen. he might be better than both of them when he wants to compete. in addition, st francis has two players that were all cif selections last year and are already going to D1 schools for baseball in joe depinto and evan simonitch. depinto is going to USC and simonitch to LMU. their catcher quintero is also supposedly getting looks from several schools including USD. that sounds pretty solid to me. i would love to see either poly or monrovia play SF. that could be a pitching match of the year if collis is on the hill for the knights. as for la salle, kohorst is alright but he needs a second pitch. and wheter people agree with him or not, he does have an offer to USD so you cant argue that. but to say they could beat st francis might be a little bit of a stretch. anyways cant wait to see how this tournament ends up. best of luck to all teams.

TC won 19-0 in their game today. So they've out scored their opponents 33-0 in the past two games.

it really depends where you go to grade school cause they will take every saint rita kid that applies but not so much with other schools

la salle is so much easier to get into then st francis

I know a football palyer who couldn't get into La Salle - but had no problem getting into SF.

I see a PHS/MUIR rivalry style in the making between TC and La Salle. Is good to see rivalries between SGV schools, such as M-town and the Falcons, Charter Oak & South Hills, Glendora & San Dimas. Is about time that other schools have the guts to create a rivalry.

why do you have to bring up academics it has very little to do with a baseball blog. Stop using it as an excuse for not being as good at sports. The only subject i know that la salle is ahead in is the fact that they take Biology freshman year instead of sophmore year. Also Saint Francis has one of the best academic decathalon teams around. I know this sounds stupid but thats what it is like reading your excuses about academics.

If we pitched out best pitcher for the whole game, who is 10x better than anyone you have we would have beat you easily.

La Salle seems to be a school that does a nice job of blending academics and athletics, but to say that its academic standards are as high as Pasadena Poly, Westridge and Flintridge Prep is simply not the case.

It doesn't matter what the score was. the point is, that Temple City beat La Salle. and should be higher ranked than the team they beat.

By the end of the season La Salle will be the best team in the area - players are getting back from retreats and just getting their baseball legs after coming from other sports - and they would crush the kittens - who everyone knows got incredibly lucky last year.
Also just to note La Salle has as high as academic standards as any school in the SGV especially higher than SF.

Your right, TC is a very good team and should be higher in the polls, but they didn't beat up on La Salle's best pitcher. They got 1 run in 4 innings.

I get it as i look at the polls there is a lot doesnt make sense except for the top team. Surpeised that SF is doing so poorly early.

Hey you forgot PHS Bulldogs - finished at .500 and beat Arcadia twice last season. They led off this season with a huge upset of St. Francis!

I don't get these polls -TC beats up on La Salle and their best pitcher - our best pitcher doesn't even pitch in the game - we shut them out and we are behind La Salle in the polls - what gives?

Just how good these CIF polls are, Mountain View is 0-2 I think and is rated 6th. TC will move up and Mountain View should drop out.

Kyke McDonald is a great baseball athlete and will give the Rio Hondo League a run toward the championship.

Back in 1998, Kyle and Eddie played on the same PCL team American LL Dist. 18 champs. Now they will face each other for the run of the patch and the playoffs.
