The La Salle girls soccer team defeated league rival Bishop Montgomery for the third time this season to claim their second CIF-SS title and first outright title in school history. Sarah Shevlin scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory for the Division IV soccer title.

A special shout-out goes to the La Canada High boys basketball team, who despite overwhelming odds, took top-ranked Campbell Hall into overtime on Saturday in the CIF-SS Division III-AA finals. On press row, they were asking, "Who's this Malik guy." Adam Malik had a chance to win it in regulation, but his shot with seconds left came up short. Still, he finished with 31 points, as the Spartans fell, 61-57. And for the rest of the team, what an inspired effort, I thought I was watching Hoosiers unfold in front of my eyes.
