This particular blog has been a class act! Thanks for the posts.
Lancer, thank you for all of you kind comments and solid posts.
La Salle put up a battle against Oaks Christian, but could not get a game off of them, as predicted by Coach Terzian. The Lancers led 23-21 in the first game, but Oaks got the next 4 points, playing great defense. The Oaks libero dug out a huge hit by Mike Fey that would have given the first game to La Salle.
Oaks won the 2nd easily. The score of the third was 24-24, and La Salle had a couple of game points, but Oaks kept their poise.
The Lancers had a great season, I am sorry to see it end.
Scott G, thanks again for this coverage of the Boys VB.
Next up for my blogging is football. See you all then.
in the fourth game tigers were up 24-20 on the brink of a semifinal spot untill they choked and lost 8 of the next 10 points...
they never recovered, the fifth game wasnt as close as the score suggests...

the flintridge fans forced many errors by bretheren christian. It was domination
South Pasadena is definitely better than La Salle. Wow what a game they put up against Bishop Montgomery. My vote's for South Pasadena's setter #4 Kevin Kuramoto as Star News Player of the Year, it's been a while since I've seen a SETTER lead and actually plays his role as the heart of the team. Nowadays you see Outside hitters and Middle blockers being the leader, but South Pasadena made it clear that their setter unites their team to play such a successful season.
Valencia defeated Arcadia in three games, 25-16, 25-21, 25-18. Arcadia led 14-7 and 20-14 in the second game but let it slip away.
The L.A. Times is reporting Bishop Montgomery d. South Pasadena, 22-25, 25-21, 21-25, 28-26, 15-13. Wow!
Flintridge Prep (17-8) upsets No. 2-ranked Grace Brethren 25-17, 25-20, 25-23. The Warriors fall to 18-2. Prep was lead by Dylan Walker's 16 kills and five aces. Daniel Nomura added 14 kills while Reed Bradley chipped in 31 assists.
The Rebels will play in their second semi-final in three years on Wednesday at a site yet to be determined against either Salesian or Laguna Blanca.
who won the SP game??
Go Tigers! We Believe!!
Hey Scott,
So which one of the games are you going to be covering tonight? There are three homes teams- South Pas, La Salle and Flintridge Prep. I assume since you already covered Arcadia, and since they are playing way out in Valencia, that'll you'll cover one of the locals tonight.
Scott,
just a suggestion. when Fred had a article in the newspaper for football, it was linked on the blog. So we could just go to the blog, then find the article. It is always hard to find articles when the titles can be deceiving, especially for teams that share nicknames like La Salle and Bishop Amat.
thanks for the VB coverage, and I hope none of the four teams have their season end tonight.
