Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

Why is larger sized clothing so challenging to come across? I have come to accept that it is extra high-priced but wearing the exact same thing over and over is terrible!

Aimee Hulen said:

Being large is tough. I am working on losing weight but I have made small progress. I am hoping that I can find clothing that accentuates the positives!

I have discovered that wearing outstanding clothes improves my self esteem and doesn't make me that self conscious about being large. I think everyone should certainly at least give this a try for 1 week and see how it works for them!

Phil Torres should do the CV baseball players a favor and leave. His baseball knowledge is outweighed by his demeaning, humiliating and discouraging treatment of the young athletes under his care.

LARWEENI IS A CRAP TALKER. HAVE SOME RESPECT WHEN YOU GO TO BASEBALL GAMES MAN. ITS FUNNY HOW YOU ACT LIKE A LITTLE KID AT GAMES BY TALKING CRAP. SHOW SOME CLASS AND ACT LIKE YOU HAVE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL1

Baseball_Mike said:

You were treated with the utmost respect because you are not a child and I'm sure you are bigger than him (who's not???) and he won't treat people like you bad. He is an amazing coach, why is he not in College yet? Because the boys are too big there and won't put up with his crap! He'd get his arrrssss kicked!

falconeer said:

Phil Torres is not only an egotistical attention whore, he both physically and verbally abuses the young men he has under his dictatorship. He has a number of law suits against him and most people at CV would wish he would have taken that Arcadia job when it opened. And this coomes from deep down in the heart of the Crescenta Valley nation...

unaware said:

SGV Coach Thanks for another perspective. You might be right about about Arcadia. The administration has seemed to put athletics on the back burner. It doesn't seem important anymore. This goes for all sports. All the programs are on a downward trend.I agree do your talking on the field.

SGV Coach said:

I have coached against Phil Torres before and he and his staff treated us with the utmost respect.

I'm guessing the bitterness stems from jealousy, most likely from the Arcadia folk who no longer have a chance at winning the Pacific. Torres also spurned them a couple times when their head job opened up.

You can say he has an ego all you want, but if any program has earned the right to have one, it's CV.

Don't throw a verbal hissy fit on a message board...go out and beat them if you have a problem with them.

Unaware said:

Anything nice to say about Phil Torres? I guess I've had my head in the sand. Someone please tell me more.

Fred, did you hear that Larini and Cabral got co-mvp honors? I thought that Cabral only got 1st team pitching honors....

FredJ said:

I was shocked that Cabral didn't win the Mission Valley League MVP outright. He threw a complete game shutout in the clincher over Arroyo and had that masterful 30-plus scoreless streak in league.

Anonymous said:

You are so right. You should see how Torres treats the kids.....especially the one's not at CV, the way he talks to parents and the media. He is the least liked coach in the area. But you have to give him credit for that porn mustache.

Anonymous said:

Okay, Angel Cabral get's first team all league and first team all area (very deserving!)... while the MVL MVP Mark Larini is no where to be found on the all area team. Does that make sense? You coaches made a big mistake picking Larini, and the all area team proves it!

FredJ said:

Alright, I've added our second team catcher, Max Valerio from Arcadia. We have not sent out our all-area certificates, so I'll make sure that we include one for him. And sorry Max, you deserved to have your name in the newspaper with the rest of them.

Anonymous said:

its gotta be quintero.

Get your act together Fred said:

Easy Fred,
Just post it up so the player that is supposed to be there can at least know of his accomplishment

FredJ said:

What do you want me to do, add the catcher's name to this list? It didn't run in the newspaper, so there isn't much I can do but apologize.

Get your act together Fred said:

Well who was it?

FredJ said:

There is no second team catcher because I screwed up. There should have been and there is no excuse for it, I simply forgot to include one. My apologies.

Get your act together Fred said:

Why is there no 2nd team catcher?

Phil Torres is a first class, top notch, talented, egoless, and sincere person to players, coaches, and the media...NOT!!! Talk about EGO, this guy's head is so big, he can't fit it through a normal doorway. Is there a more disliked coach than this guy? Only ego drives you to want to coach high school all star teams in the summer. What coaching goes on when you have McKiernan and Rasmussen and Emmons throwing...It's all ego, stay home and spend time with the family is what most hs coaches do in the summer, but EGOS get the best of some individuals.

Pas Fan said:

I agree. I think Phil Torres is a wonderful coach and his relations with other players, coaches and the media are first class.

I can't believe Crescenta Valley coach Phil Torres wasn't the coach of the year. He is the most militaristic, demanding coach who has integrity and the respect of every player and coach he comes in contact with.
Sincerely,
Phil Torres
