Loyola or St. Francis, where would you send your kid?

| | Comments (19) |

Mark your calendars for Thursday, Oct. 18, when Loyola heads to St. Francis for the showdown at Friedman Field. I love that it's on a Thursday, the whole area should turn out for this one. Why has it taken so long for these two schools to knock helmets. Does anyone know the last time they played. It should be special, talk about a tug-of-war for the area's best talent. We will discuss Loyola on the blog this fall. There are enough Star-News area kids to include the Cubs in our discussions, and I'll start with this: Who has the better football program, and why is one more attractive than the other? Who's going to have a better 2007 season, and who's going to win this game?

Loyola. No question.

St Francis is a tough d3 school, but they don't compare to Loyola who have around 5 division 1 titles
and 6 other Title game appearances, although last year with St Francis having an up year and Loyola having a down year it might have been a pretty good game.

what school do you think is stronger than loyola

I wouldn't sent my son to either school. But if they were the only two schools in this world I would choose Loyola. St. Francis is clearly a program on the decline. Loyola is stronger and should beat them by 2 touchdowns at least.

Nobody would send their kid to SF instead of L, unless the travel to L is too much. All else being equal there is really no comparison.

Loyola is better all around. Its an urban school that draws from a wide area and consistenly post the highest level of achievement both academically and athletically. I played against both schools and Loyola brought a hammer with them.

Loyola easily. Who'd want to go to the Alverno School for Boys? Even Alemany is a better choice.

I feel as though my kids learned better in public schools.

niether..i wouldn't want to have to pay for my son to go to school with all boys

i wouldn't send my son to either.. but if i had to he'ld be a cub. the school has more of a mix of students ( not just rich kids) and i think it has better teachers, sports and moral code.

last time they played was 1993 season.

My answer: Neither! But if athletic talent was the only thing my son had going for him and I had to chose it would be Loyola hands down.

SF was one RB away from being a great team last year. They lost a lot more than people think - I hope it is a decent game.

this game needs to be played every year. I don't know why two catholic schools so close and so prominent wait so long to play each other.
