Does anyone know of the college choice of Ms. Profit or any of the other senior members of the all-area team that previously hadn't been announced?
To Annonymous
Those Drugs are called common sense...you should try some maybe you will understand that any athlete that is well coached can be taken to his potential. Maybe your'e not an athelete and never will be so this may not apply.
At this point predicting how track will be in the spring of '08 is fruitless. You never what can happen. It's like the quotes you get from every area football coach out of the coaches cliche handbook. Quote, "We're young team but I'm optimistic of being in contention" or "We have an experienced core that should contend" or etc. As MLK states we will just have to wait and see where Muir and every team will be in May '08.
...and a message to Ex-Dena Dogg, stay away from the recreational drugs. Monrovia has some nice Division level guys. But to make it to state you usually need a hammer or in football parlance a go-to guy. Don't think they had that.
well coach knowles must have something up his sleeve if the girls will be back next season to make a statment lets just wait till next season and find out what he has in store!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 'ROID STORY??
If Monrovia High had a track coach they might just win State....plenty of true sprinters, no coaches....somebody want to get recognized?...
Watch out for PHS next year. They have excellent new and returning talent. In fact there is so much talent in and around Pasadena that with the right motivation champioins can be developed. It will be fun again to see a Muir/PHS rivalry.
MLK,
I think the Mustangs' girls team will have a couple of talented returners in Lindsay Cooper and Taylar Mills next year. However, their days of dominance are over, at least in the foreseeable future.
Don't forget, Williams and Profit competed in the 100 and 300 hurdles along with the 400 and 1600 relay. Williams even ran the 100 and 200 sprints on occasion. Don't forget the loss of Jasmine Clark, who also competed in the Mustangs' jumps and was a good hurdler as well. The Mustangs are just losing too many points and will have difficulty competing with CV, Arcadia and Burbank.
Coach Knowles has said that he has some impact freshman coming in, but I can't see the Mustangs' girls finishing higher than third in the Pacific League next year.
The boys on the other hand, will be stronger next year with Chris Dunlap (100, 200), Marcus Thompson (110 H, 300 H), Tramell Clipper (100, 200), Christian Kooshian (3200), Jared Banks (LJ), John Patton (TJ) and others returning.
To MLK, what freshmen or transfers does Muir have enrolling, that would lead one to make that statement?
2008 watch out for the Muir boys and Girls track teams they are not dead yet! even with the graduation of profit and williams they will have to be watched in 2008.
I think that's completely out of line to question Rich's manlihood.
Signed,
Siegfried and Roy
Yep, it is Johnson and consistency with speed is probably the right way to measure these awards.
Hey Anonymous Loser 11:51,
You're not funny. Get a life.
If I may comment on some of these questions.
First of all, I believe the young man from Monrovia mentioned is Daro Johnson, not Jackson.
Now, on the discrepancy with some times, the problem with some marks are that they were not reported to the paper or dyestat. Therefore, I can't verify their accuracy. In my opinion and that of the coaches surveyed for this first team list, Chris Dunlap was the most consistent performer in the 100 on a week-to-week basis. I do believe Monrovia's Tyler Thompson (10.8) had a faster published time in the 100 against La Cañada, but overall I'd still go with Dunlap.
To TV, sorry about the error, Xiao Lu is a senior.
To Anon 11:34 am, is there a particular senior you would like to know more about? The last I checked, both Kiani Profit and Jesus Correa were still undecided. I spoke with Kiani's coach today, Mike Knowles, who said she would be making a decision soon, probably next week.
Here are some of the senior s that have committed: Jalisa Williams of Muir (Washington State), Zion Babb of Alhambra (Michigan) and Andrew Pilvajian of Arcadia (UCSB).
Does Rich Gonzales still work for dyestat? He is a stud.
Sincerely,
Richard Simmons
Ricky Martin
Enrique Iglessias
Greg Louganis
Freddie Mercury
do not take dyestatcal spellings or times for granted. I've found several mistakes on their site.
The fastest published times I can find on Jackson are 11.23 (11.13w) and 22.74 as published on the episports.com database.
Also check dyestatcal.com for marks in various events.
Where were these marks set? Maybe in duals that weren't published?
I noticed Xiao Lu listed as both senior and sophomore here- which one is he?
Why isn't Daro Jackson of Monrovia on this list. His times of 10.82 in 100m, 22.25 in 200m and 4:36 in the 4x100 was the best in the area.
Congratulations to both Jesus and Kiani for being selected athlete of the year. ...and congratulations to those athletes that made all area, recognition of not only your talent but your hard work and dedication.
Does anyone know where the seniors among the all-area track & fielders will be attending college in the fall?
