Harold Polo...LC plays a great schedule year in and year out. South Pas also plays a great schedule each year. In the last few years, TC and SM have upgraded their schedules as well to include many of the teams you mentioned as well as other fine programs. One thing you failed to consider, however, are the club schedules outside of High School play. This is where the RHL dominates as a whole. LC water polo foundation, Rose Bowl Aquatics, and other clubs play tournaments that are recognized as the best in the nation. Clubs like San Diego Shores, ORCA, Trabuco Hills, and others compete evenly with our RHL players. Remember also, that LC has not had an indefinite lock on the RHL title. SoPas dominated league, much as Larry Naeve is doing now, for 11 straight years. I think SoPas has had 30-40 All-Americans over the past 20 years or so...that's pretty impressive...as has been LC's decade of dominance. La Canada does not have a monopoly on water polo talent in the SGV as the sport continues to grow. If you watch the league games, you will have noticed that the cometitiveness has increased dramatically since Coach Naeve began dominating in 1998 (I think that was their first league title...but it could be 1999). You should be proud of the entire SGV, especially the RHL, and not try to raise LC's pedestal at the expense of others...they have raised it high enough on their own.

You're pretty arrogant harold polo. are you the father of one of these "magnificent boys"? or perhaps a sub on the bench?

Other players around the RHL such as A. MaCarthy of South Pasadena may not play for the glorious lc, but have just as much skill and far more class.

While it would be great to have RHL boys water polo be among the best in So. Cal. It is not. Look at who LC plays: Montebello, Harvard, El Toro, Villa Park, Servite. Who do the other teams play? NO comparison. With the league playing each other twice, it limits the number of games they can play against stronger teams. When is someone going to wake up and see that the league is hurting its teams. Who is the RHL beside LC has NCAA D1 players? Currently USC #1 in the NCAA has three LC players on the roster...

La Canada just beat Harvard Westlake (who is ranked 7th in D1) 5-8. Not as decisive as they would like, but they still preformed reasonably well.

The RHL has been very strong for a while now. The best development the last few years or so, however, is the competitiveness within the league. For a while it was a one or two horse race between SoPas and LC, but SM and TC deserve a lot of credit for building their programs into championship form. The only sad thing is that one deserving school may get left off the playoff bracket. However, it does make for great drama once league play heats up. It's a great year to hed to the pool and preview the next NCAA Div. 1 rosters from our own backyard. Anders MacCarthy from SP has not been mentioned much yet, but he has been tearing up some of the better tournaments in the area (20 goals in one tournament). Go check out the action in the pool, it's worth it!

With four teams in the CIF top 10. The Rio Hondo League rules the San Gabriel Valley waters. And La Canada usually can play with any of the D1 powers.
