FOOTBALL: Bulldogs given a win
The Pasadena Bulldogs close out the weekend at .500. How does this happen? Well, it seems that West Ranch used an inelligible player in its win a week ago.
But hey, 2-2 is better than 1-3 no matter how you slice it?

Stang Fan,
Burbank is nothing so beating them is just another Pacific league win towards our "title". Yes, I said it again "title"! The tough schedule we've played in preseason will payoff. I know football well enough to say we (PHS) have the best team in the league. Now that the offensive line is in great condition and the running game is rolling along no one in the Pacific can handle “PHS”! Period! Not even the so called “Mighty Mustangs”! I’m not counting the eggs before they hatch, but the “DOGS” are the best team! If, Mills don’t blow this thing, I will go out on a limb and say “7 and 0” in league! I base it off of, Arcadia has no athletes, Boroughs is about the same and Muir is owed what were going to give them. This is probably Muir’s slowest team ever! There is a Red and White train comming and if you don't get aborad, then you'll get ran over!

My playing days against Muir were not ol'school, but ancient dead sea scroll days of the mid-seventies.
They had the same speed burners I see mentioned today - but they also had a hard hitting, swarming defense. I can't remember the coach of that day, but he was a fiery sucker on the sideline. We (Alhambra)ventured into Muirland knowing it was going to be toe to toe. Their fan base ranged from mom and pop to psycotic dudes who charged our bus looking like a cross between Snoop
Dog and Shaun Merriman. The place was as terratorial as a den of pissed off badgers. In other words, great fan support.
Comments saying "they will NEVER be any good" sound much like I heard about Blair on the streets of Pasadena the last couple years. Why the decline and when was their most recent "good" season?
Thanks Stang Fan.
Im an ol skool PHS Alum, class of 88. I have respect for the Mighty Stangs who represent Pasadena/Altadena with honor. As a coach, I can have a rational argument about the tussle year in and year out. I never said that Muir sucked, nor have I ever put Muir down. I have a lot of family, best friends, and my wife who are Muir Alumni. Therefore, I have much respect. In fact, I was going to coach with a potential Head Coach candidate for Muir in 2005 name Zach. Well Zach did not get the job and now im happy with the Wildcats. Much respect for the Stangs, but come Tussle day...I must admit that I hope HS kicks Butt and hopefully come out with a win. Ding-Ding!!

87 Stlye:
If you've read some of my previous posts I have acknowledged that we haven't picked up a quality win yet. At the same time I have never boasted that we would sweep through the Pacific, as you so ignorantly have done. What justification do you have for such rubbish? What proof? Any enlightening facts or stats to back up your retarded opinion? No? That's what I thought.
Mark this down. PHS will not see the playoffs under their current coaching regime. It just ain't gonna happen. And when they miss the playoffs again 87, I'd LOVE to hear all of your excuses.
Atomic Dawwg is right, I shouldn't be using words like "suck" when it comes to kids, however, I wasn't referencing the athletes, I was actually referring to those old HS alums who talk sh*@ every year about how sorry Muir is and how awesome HS is and how they are finally going to beat the Stangs. So if any HS players are reading this I do apologize for the misunderstanding. You guys fight hard and try your best, only to be let down by a tragedy of a coaching staff and some myopic fans.
Stang Fan and Fair,
So I guess Muir has played a world beater of a schedule? That’s why I called you guys stupid! Outside of Oaks Christian, who have they played that was of any significance? Yes, that’s what I thought! Franklin and Jefferson are lower level city teams, Muir split them two softies. Stupid! I think was the correct word. As far as the coaches beating Muir; Mills graduated in 85 which was his senior year and the first time in his 4 years at PHS he lost to Muir. As for the puny little “bandwagon” it will be riding all the way to a Pacific league title as we put a whipping on the great “Mighty Mustangs” in the tussle with our bad coaching! They say it on this blog all the time “That’s why we play the games”! The streak won’t help you mules either!
It does not matter how BAD things go between fairness and unfairness outcome from a negative situation...when you are a LEADER, you do NOT let your soldiers, players, TEAM, STUDENTS, down. A LEADER must not quit during the battle. By walking away, it just gives a BAD example towards the TEAM. High school football is not just about the games, is about the kids future in life. If you succeed on the field, you succeed in life after high school.
LEADERSHIP
"A leader must be honest with himself and know that as a leader he is like everybody else. He must identify himself with the group, must back up the group even at the risk of displeasing superiors. He must believe that the group wants from him a sense of approval. If this feeling prevails, production, discipline, morale will be high, and in return, you can demand the cooperation to promote the goals of the company."

The only thing Muir will ever be good at is Track.Football always does well in league, and choke in the playoffs; and what about Pasadena Highs basketball program. All of L.A. is talking about how much talent they have

dawg 87 style ,
i have a couple questions to ask you !
first of all :
1. what coach on your sorry squad has ever beat muir ?
answer : none of the above !
2. when was the last time you guys had the bell ?
3. how many seniors leaving on your team ?
answer: too many starters that cant even win this year.
dont even talk on here. you guys should have kept tip sanders, look at blair and look at mills at phs . he cant out coach a flag football team.

Calm down Stang Fan!
I enjoy reading your comments and you provide a holistic approach to SGV football for some fans within my era. But when you write the word "suck,"on your posts, you bring yourself down to the unwanted dawg style/ dawg house 07 writings.
DOnt take everything to heart Stang...have fun and keep on writing good stuff.

87 Style:
Before we attach the label of stupidity on others let us first look at your extremely stupid statements.
1. H-W is # 1 in their division. STUPID. Actually they are #3 behind Oak Park and Morro Bay respectively. And to be honest Oaks Christian is still THE team to beat in that division. Their losses came to two highly ranked teams in the LA Times (St. Bonnies & Venice) while H-W lost to a pretty bad Carson team (who isn't ranked at all.) Oaks Christian will still win that division.
2. The dogs should have won two of the games they lost. Really STUPID. And you got the audacity to call someone else stupid. You guys really view life through rose-colored lenses don't you. There is no way in hell that a team who was losing to C "frickin" V at halftime would have had the chance to beat any of those three teams. And don't talk to me about dropped TDs in the Dominguez game....they blew yall out by 29!!! I originally had you guys pegged to go to the playoffs, but if Burbank plays you guys the way they did Arcadia you guys will be coming to Lincoln ONCE AGAIN to watch the playoffs. If you'd like to reserve a seat just put your orders in now.
3. "Haters" will jump on your bandwagon. Extremely STUPID. You would never have to worry about "haters" jumping on the "bandwagon" because the natural inclination of a "hater" is to, well,.........hate. So naturally you don't have to worry about your small, puny, little bandwagon being bumrushed, and by the way, that little wagon will begin to fall apart sometime around November.
It's sooooo hard to be a dog...............man you guys SUCK!!!
dawg 87 style
you're dumb, just by being alive!
hahahah, the dogs are lunch for mustangs!
fair,
For you to say the Dogs suck, tells me your stupid! The Dogs have played #1 ranked Harvard-West Lake, which happens to be in the same divison as Oaks Christian. #4 ranked Don's in there divison and at the time #9 ranked West Ranch same division as Hart. So the Dog's haven't played a soft schedule and should have won 2 out of those three. I happy people think were our sorry, because the Pacific will be our's! I believe! It's our time and we don't need any haters on the "BAND WAGON"!
Calling all Blair fans!!! Is something like this in store for the Vikings???
The LA times blog said the player was academically inelgible.
The 14 year explanation does not sound right - there is a new rule this year that any 14 year old can play varsity without any special clearance other than the school simply has to notify CIF who there are.
they are still gonna lose to burbank, burroughs, muir, and especially arcadia. These guys are not good
they still 1-3 to me on paper.
west ranch used a kid that was 14 on
varsity. dawgs still suck.
