I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I'm very very impressed.

Quite interesting article. Your own web page is rather quickly growing to be considered one of my favorite features.

I would like to start my own blog one day. This was a really nice blog that you made here. Keep up the success :P

What kind of matter really, thank you for sharing, we have a common interest.

Washington Redskins is a good team,I like it.

Stang Fan,

great analogy on pummeling senseless your little bro in the backseat after finally losing all patience...I wish there was a online equivalent that worked..until there is - a full-tilt rant will have to suffice

Yeah, Coach Murphy played all four years, HS, winning MVP awards, et al. He was an assistant coach for eight years, now in his second year in the current role. The "word" you heard isn't very informed. His love and participation in both football and basketball, as far back as grade school on local community teams, ect. has been consistent. He's learned every step of the way.

Scathing commentary--loved it!

has marantha's head coach ( J Murphy) EVER played football at any level? Word is his staff has carried him since Coach Barnett left.

Division 13 is the lowest division correct?

New York said:

PHS is a sleeping giant. They remind me of Monrovia 15 years ago. Football programs are not built in a split second, though. It will take the right staff from the Principal to the locker room attendant a few years to awaken it to its potential.

Stang Fan, your rant was very good. You don't beat around the bush. Everyone knows PHS is all talk. Once the poop hits the windshield, instead of man-ing up and working through it, they point fingers at each other.

New York said:

Stang Fan,
I pulled out some old memorabilia and found a picture of Coach B surrounded by five members of the '86 team: Vince Phillips (USC and NY Yankees...), Charlie Brown (UCSB), The Crutch (BYU and some NFL), Marcus Robertson(Iowa State and Houston Oilers), and of course Ricky Ervins (USC and Redskins). WOW! Impressively, these five guys were all scholar-athlete nominees as well. You should tell your players that they don't need to sacrifice grades for field performance. In fact, classroom discipline carries over to field discipline.

The Stang Fan said:

NY:

You are ABSOLUTELY right. I don't know why I keep getting drawn in. It's kind of like riding in the back seat with your little brother on a family trip and he's repeating the same line over and over and over, until it just drives you mad and you just have to beat him senseless.

Your rant is awesome.

Stang Fan,

Bro, talk about needing to take the high road...why even acknowledge it?

I NEVER do this because we ALL make various mistakes on this blog...by no means am I trying to become the "language police." However, I could be mistaken, but isn't fourth "followed" by fifth....not third. You know...because "followed" means to go after someone or something.

Oh....wait a minute....my bad! You didn't get the word wrong you just got the number placement wrong. You meant to say Muir is 1st, "followed" by Burroughs at 2nd, "followed" by Arcadia at 3rd, "followed" by the dogs at 4th. Well, I disagree with you slightly there. Just flip Arcadia with Burroughs and now you've got it right. BTW, I won't even get into grabbing things "defiantly."

Muir is a "mirage?" Sorry 87 the only "mirage" in local high school football is the amount of players PHS has on their team, because NO ONE can believe their eyes when they go to a PHS game. For a school with 2,500 kids that is a DAMN shame!!! And please don't be ignorant enough to join the contingent of PHS fans who blame the high percentage of Latino kids at the school. The fact remains that Latino football players far outnmber all others in the SGV. So why is it that you can't get more kids out to play? Do the words "god-awful coaching" have anything to do with it?

ANd how do you explain the Oaks Christian players' exhaustion in the fourth quarter? I'll tell you how, their starters WERE back in the game. Subs would not be huffing and puffing after a quarter and a half of play. Were you there? Of course you weren't. You were watching HS get stomped by an EXTREMELY overrated Dominguez team that will lose a couple of more games this year. There is no way in hell that a Wing-T team scores 49 points against a GOOD team. Against GOOD teams the Wing-T gets tough, grind-em-out yards in order to slow the game and keep the oppostion's offense off of the field. Yet, you guys allowed them to average almost two touchdowns a quarter? A GOOD team you are clearly not.

Man, just continue to do what you terds always do and focus your ENTIRE season around the Tussle. Meanwhile, we'll be focusing on the next team and preparing oursleves for the playoffs, where we will definitely make some noise this year.

Great start Mills. Your current record at HS is 8-14. If you want to hit .500 before the year ends you've got a lot of "dreaming".....wait, wait,wait....my bad....."work" to do. Prediction: at the end of the year Mills' record will be 12-19 with future losses to West Ranch, Arcadia, Burroughs, the Stangs, and whichever team they will see in the first round of the playoffs.

I swear........you guys suck.

15-13 Monrovia edges Arcadia in a close, hard fought renewed rivalry.

PurdueAlumni05,

Muir did not compete with Oaks Christian. Period! Arcadia should be #1 at this point. The season is going to be very interesting, because the Pacific league is defiantly up for grabs. It's a 4 team race with no room for error. The Dogs have a lot of doubters after the first week, but turned the corner against the #1 Dons. PHS will not play a team with the defensive and offensive front or the athleticism of the Don's until maybe the playoffs. Yes! I said the playoffs, which the Dogs have not been in recent years. I hear Muir went against the first team of Oaks Christine in the second half, which I know is a flat out a lie! Muir is a "mirage"! I think they the Stangs will take 4th in league followed by Burroughs 3rd, Arcadia 2nd and the Dogs 1st!

Although I have great respect for Monrovia and think that they will challenge TC for the RHL title, I still believe that Arcadia will pull out this game out.
Also, TC will beat Alhambra with their Offensive and Defensive lines controlling the game.
Muir should be ranked #1 in the valley based on the fact that they were willing to play Oaks Christian and played them well. Grant it they did lose some great players due to graduation, but great programs find ways to improve.

I never used the word Supposed....should is the right term in this case, thats if Monrovia plays the way Most expect. Come to the Game and check out what I mean.

Heres my take on the Arcadia/Monrovia showdown.

If Arcadia comes to play and has more than one real playmaker it could be decided by the fieldgoal kickers. If Monrovia Plays like everyone expects them to, Monrovia could make it hard for Arcadia to make a late comeback. Although Monrovia will be without it's starting Tailback this gives the Other running back a chance to really showcase his talents. He only had 6 carries in the first game against Monclair an gained 54 yards his second game was against Duarte and he carried the ball 24 times for 204 yard....not including the penalized yardage that would have put him near 300yrd..and most of that was in the second half of the game. So If eveyone comes out to play it will be the True Game of the Week. William Do should have his way with Alhambra they say you cant teach Speed, But you certainly can teach team Discipline and playing againt TC you will need all of the discipline you have to stand in and win all 4 quarters. The last time a QB was so Highly touted was Beverly Hill in the 90's who rolled all over the Ocean league back then. Monrovia had a simillar situation on how to stop him. The Game ended with Monrovia winning 55-7. This team has simmilar attributes. The QB situation is still jellin and Matt Haggard is starting to look more comfortable in the pocket, he has some really fast recievers to throw to if he can ever get the time. My Score predication MHS 28 Arcadia 17. this should send a message Loud and clear to the Pacific League.
