It doesnt matter everyone feels that the best player on monrovias football team was Kendal Boggs

freshman football is the grooming pool that wins varsity league titles.
Meaningless? Not to any sucessful coach or program anywhere.
Posted by: Goldenarm | September 12, 2007 1:11 PM
Freshman football is meaningless - they would be better off playing Pop Warner.

Anon,
SF is loaded with Talent. They had over 95 freshmen... maybe 100 kids in pads against arcadia. Don't make excuses. The talent pool is 10 times worst at arcadia and we still punished SF.
Posted by: the real hsfbfan | September 11, 2007 11:39 PM
what?!!
sf is continually STACKED with numbers! their freshmen teams are regularly 70+!!
so how bonds uses or develops the talent is up to him. i personally think he's one of the most hyped coaches!!
Posted by: Anonymous | September 11, 2007 9:30 PM
I think Bonds is still the best coach in the SGV - he just dosen't ever have any real talent. He has to rely mostly on LC kids and LC youth sports has basically been taken over by soccer and youth football is all but gone thanks to youth soccer that takes in from surrounding hispanic areas so they can have strong named LC youth soccer teams - as if any body cares - but uses up the all the available fields. The same is true of LCHS - both schools are not going to have winning football teams for years. LC is not developing the talent at the lower levels due to the over run of soccer. LCHS may not win more than a couple of games this year and there is no way SF is at 500% or higher. It is going to be this way for a long time. SF should go to the Pacific League where they will finish in the middle and LC should go to the Prep League where they would be near the top. Athough LCHS this year and last year without Peterson last year would have lost to last year's Rio and Poly - maybe Maranatha. Get use to it LCHS and SF fans - it is going to be ugly for some time to come.

moorforlife,
behind that O-line Brown will rack some yards. He is a talent for sure. However, as far as the SG Valley's best RB, you will see him this Friday, but he will be wearing a Ram uniform.
Williams Do is the full package and rarely is solo tackled, beating defenders will both strength and speed. As a HS linebacker he cannot be matched for range and combines a nose for the ball with polished backer fundamentals. His appearance is not exceptionally huge, but the dude is ripped. Friday night should bring a great game to behold.

I misspelled "means" and forgot a comma after "Now", complain about my grandiloquent grammar, I dare you.
Posted by: nervo | September 11, 2007 3:52 PM
hey MOORon, if they got 4 touchdowns called back that doesn't mean they didn't score shortly thereafter. You cannot simply say "Oh, because they had 4 touchdowns called back, they really would have scored 28 more points!" For all we know, they scored on 3 of those 4 chances on the same drive which means, they wouldn't have really scored 28 more points. They wouldn't have even scored 7 points because when it gets called back that mans their own team failed to execute thus causing said play to become void, get me? Now go join the "shoulda, coulda, woulda" club and silence yourself, Glendale's best team in 10 years is still a 2-8 team and they still are inadequate in terms of correct execution of football plays, i.e. they suck and you do too for letting them hang in for so long.
Posted by: nervo | September 11, 2007 3:50 PM
Like I said before Fred you must really have close friends at Saint Francis because how can you guys pick SF to be #1 before they played a game? I watched their scrimage and this has to be the worst team I ever seen in 10 years and at best a 3-7 season. Quit giving props to Bonds your buddy and give the other area teams a chance on the ink!!!!

in respose 2 the observantkitten-you obviously don't know what your talking about and i'm probably wasting my time-the fact is they got 4 td's called back, not three-it should have been 54-0 plus they played w/ out 4 starting lineman who probably avg.about 6'3 6'4 280 lbs-and still handled probably the best team glendale has had in 10 yrs-much props 2 there new head coach-the first 3 4 minutes in the first qrt-anthony brown scored on a 55 yd punt return and 65 yd run from scrimmage-he's obviously the best running back in the sgv if not in so.cal-to make a "MOOR" story short-i'll talk 2 you in november-

Bakersfield was not an 8 man team last year. They will probably make it to central division CIF finals. Also, Maranantha will have an easy time with Poly. They only returned 3 players from last year.

To Stang Fan and Observer
It seems like Stang fan is banking on Arcadia to really get into Monrovia on Friday night which could possibly give him a more clear mesurment of how balanced the Pacific league really is. If Arcadia loses this Game to Monrovia chances are The Pacific league would be in complete denial of how mediocer it really is. Because the Arcadia-Muir match-up will most likely determine the Winner of the Pacific league. To Observer: the underclassmen are doing just fine, Kendall Boggs is always a threat on special teams and has become a prolific defensive player as well.
Ps..It would be great to showcase some the the talents of the fresman QB this kid is Awesome. But we still are led by Our senior Matt Haggard which might just make this his coming out game.

the real hsfbfan & sfhs92:
SF simply does not beat Los Altos, Loyola, or St. Paul this year. No, not gonna happen. I figured even Alemany would beat them this year until I saw their score vs. Franklin (who we play this Friday) which was a disappointing 35-27. With Hart's former offensive guru, Dean Harrington, now at the helm at Alemany I thought that they'd be a little more competitive this year, but I promise they will be tearing up SF in the future. Especially since they are snatching up some of NW Pasadena's finest...they've got like six or seven of our kids over there and they're predominantly freshman and sophomores.
As for the rivalry factor vs. Loyola....uhhhhh.....no. PHS fans use that reasoning every single year and you see where that gets them. BTW, when was the last time you played Loyola, let alone beat them. Is this game even a rivalry to the current players or just to the alumni who shove it down the players throats.
I'll go ahead and change my prediction....you guys will go 4-6 and the playoffs will be iffy. The Mission League always seems to get the wildcard, but I'm not so sure this year.

Monrovia Fans-
How are underclassmen Josh Walls,Kendal Boggs and Darwin Winfrey doing this year ?. Boggs made the NUC West All Combine team in April (as did Arcadia's Todd Golper)and the other two guys were Hon Mention.

I don't think I would fit in right now. I take mistakes far too personally.

Big A,
That is a pretty simple statement. "If they torch them all over the field it's over.." LOL! Good show.
Posted by: New York | September 10, 2007 9:12 PM
Anon,
What an absurd statement. I have nothing to do with that kid. I simply am referring to the reports I have on Scout.com
Anyways, it is key for Arcadia to stop the run. If they let Monrovia torch them all over the field, that game is over. It will be too much for them to handle.
Btw, I was born and raised in Dallas so don't even give me that crap.
Posted by: BigA | September 10, 2007 9:02 PM
bigA, are you todd golper or his dad?
all you do is semi-talk him up!
he isnt even that good!! you think because kevan walker is going to be a bruin you will too?
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 7:55 PM
the only reason arcadia stopped riley is because of bonds
he was too busy eating cheetos naked on a bean bag chair to come with good ways to get him the ball!!
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 7:51 PM
Monrovia fans,
I think you guys are forgetting that last year Arcadia had 3 underclass linebackers. Linebackers are the key to stopping the run and thats exactly what they didn't do against Monrovia. Now they have 2 seniors and a junior who is getting recruited by UCLA, etc...according to Scout.com and was a pre-season all-state LB for the juniors. His last name is Golper.
I expect Arcadia's linebackers to be flying around the ball considering they are more experienced and seem to have a better idea about what they are doing.
I have no doubt Monrovia has some great backs, they always do. I just feel that Arcadia's D limited a top sophomore in California in Dietrich Riley and will be able to limit Monrovia's offensive rushing attack. I don't feel that Haggard is too proven of a QB no matter what anyone says.
I believe this game will come down to who can stop the run, plain and simple.

walker undersized?? he's 6'1 185 pure muscle this kid is jacked. i saw him on friday night as he walked off the field after the game and this kid is huge. he's a force i thought he wasnt that big either but seeing him up close this guy is a machine. ucla workout plan huh? haha

I refrain of mentioning Dwight Smith from M-Town all summer.
Now the SGV knows Dwight Smith...this kid is the new BUS and the wheels just keep rolling.
During the Duarte game, Dwight ran over a defender like butter on a hot slice of toast.
The DB thought he was playing for the Duarte Hawks after he got up.
TC had their Dwight last season, now is Monrovia's turn.

NY,
Good point, I do remember.. I agree... Hey, you should ditch your career and coach M-town. That I'd like to see.
O-Cat,
Thats one thing I am worried about, Walker getting tried from running around on offense. That might affect his throwing techinque resulting in a INT. Although, after all his running around in the SF game, he didn't show any signs of being tried which was great. He's in great shape.
And, O-cat, thanks for keeping it football too. NY always does also. Where's Philly B and BigMlover during this huge rival week?? What would a game be without any hype or smack talk? I am lovin it and can't wait for game time!
I know Monrovia will play up..no doubt.

Ok kiddies. Let's settle down. Mr. Anonymous must have just learned the term "smash on" because he is uses it like it is going out of style. I thought it already had...
What makes you guys so confident that Arcadia will beat Monrovia, anyway? Are you counting on us to beat ourselves again? The good thing is that we got a painful wake-up call last week. I feel better about the game this week after getting slapped in the face with a Duarte loss than I would have if we had won and let the same mistakes from the Montclair game continue to go uncorrected. Just like any organization, effecting change is easier during times of crisis vs times of perceived success.
Furthermore, Monrovia matches up with Arcadia differently than SF does. Fan, don't you remember our discussion last year when you said that West Covina would kill us because West Covina had put up so many yards on Mater Dei. Yet I then pointed out the difference in matchups...similar situation this week.
So Mr Anonymous, continue "smashing" your head into your locker, cubicle or the wall in your cell block. I enjoy poking holes in the lack of substance in your front-runner cheerleading.

the real hsfbfan
I am not trying to underestimate his potential as an Arcadia Running Back, I just think that the Bar is set higher at schools like Monrovia, Muir & Duarte. Last year he was in perfect condition against Monrovia and only had 58 yards the entire game and most of that came on 1 big play. I dont see him as a huge threat going into friday night. Now a scramblin QB could be another story if the Defense does'nt adjust then it could be a long night if he does'nt burn himself out too quickly. I think this will be a good match-up with Smith and Walker going head to head. Smith is a new player with unlimited potential and can score on a dime. Walker is kind of undersized but quick and has potential to wreak havoc on defenses. The supporting cast for both teams must step and play their A game or one will loose in dramatic fashion. While were at it, thanks for keeping it football, unlike the Idiot (Dumb Annonymous) Who takes your school backwards 100 years.

hey anonymous, what you mean by no good>??? ARROYO has one of the best QB's in the valley, and an experienced and hardened team thats full of seniors and playmakers. I give lots of credit to TC but ARROYO did outplay and outcoach them. Give the KNIGHTS their props cuz they'll be proving you wrong this season by consistently showing up to play and winning games. Oh and their pre-season schedule is nothing to joke about. Next week they host a team (Warren) that is in a much tougher league and very notable division, and last year they only lost by one point. After that the KNIGHTS travel to Alhambra and in week 5 they take on Tustin, who also is a very tough and prosperous program. You cant say ARROYO is no good. You probably werent even at the game, which was the "game of the week" if you hadnt noticed! This matchup is the best week one rivalry in the valley. The series is tied all-time at 14 games a piece. Oh, and star-news, now would be an acceptable time to include ARROYO in your top ten list. GO KNIGHTS GO!

walker was getting SMACKED all night!
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 11:16 AM
O-Cat,
Arcadia is on fire this year. There's no way Monrovia will stop them. Amhaz did play last year, actually he started as a soph but has a fullback. He was injured last year and had some fumbling issues too. Arcadia's offensive passing attack is stellar to say the least with Rambeau & Willm leading the way. Believe me when I say this, but it will take 3 to 4 cats to tackle Amhaz. It's called off season weight room!
Walker is just a small piece of the pie. Arcadia's o-line & d-line is outstanding. Arcadia's o-line bys Walker the time needed.
We might see a goose egg this year.

arcadia smashes monrovia friday. monrovia will be lucky to crack 0
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 10:15 AM
To the Dumb Anonymous...(you know who you are)
It is so apparent you did'nt play football to make some of the suggestions you make about the teams on this blog. Where was this Troy Amhaz last year and what did he accomplish?..Monrovia treated him like a step child last year. Now bring someting more to the table when it comes to what you think as compared to what you want to think. You may end up a Dwight Smith Fan after this week...so hold your horses or should I say Apaches. This is going to be Arcadias second game this season and so Far it's been all Walker, thats probably why Scott and Fred featured him and only him in your press. Outside of that each week teams get stronger and the stats will speak for themselves, If you have a running back that can get over 800 yrds this season I will be surprised. As far as the passing game goes it's still a mystery for you guys. I will say that rivalry does play a big part in overall emotions especially when you think your'e better than your neighbor but pure athletics play more of a factor in the final score and I think that we have many more pure athletes on our team. Hopefully they will have matured a little more and come out and play to a higher level. No excuses in the Duarte Loss..they played to the higher level and took advantage of all of the Wildcat mistakes. I know Crutchfield was glad the game was over because he saw the potential of a huge comeback in the works. Good luck anyway, we shall see you on Friday.

well sf plays cv next week and burroughs the week after. im chalking these up as sure wins.
SF will obviously lose to ND.
SF can still beat alemany, loyola and st paul.
chaminade will be their only toss up. probably with playoff hopes on the line.
arcadia will smash on monrovia. trust me. how do you stop troy amhaz? you cant!!
muir plays some city section team. schedule loyola again or a good east sgv and smash on them.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 8:10 AM
Stang Fan,
Your question is similar to somebody who played for Jimmy Johnson at Miami asking somebody who played during Loyd Carr's earlier years at Michigan what he thinks about Michigan's chances against Penn State or Wisconsin this year.
I love our chances against Arcadia. Our boys are talented, good kids who work hard. I've seen both teams (Arcadia out of pads only). I know that we have more horses in the stable than they do. The question, really, is what direction the jockey will ride.
Posted by: New York | September 10, 2007 7:24 AM
Stang,
Los Altos, Alemany, and St. Paul.
Posted by: the real hsfbfan | September 10, 2007 7:19 AM
It is a good thing Maranatha gets Poly this year - last year Poly would have beat them 50 - 0.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 6:50 AM
I give props to arcadia for pulling out a good win vs SF. But to say they will lose all those games is absurd. SF has always owned alemany and loyola is a rivalry game and we all know what happens in rivalry games. I think SF can go 3-3 in those games and maybe sneak into the playoffs.
Posted by: sfhs92 | September 10, 2007 2:30 AM
the real hsfbfan:
Ok so SF is big and strong....cool. But tell me if you think they are going to beat any of the following: Los Altos, ND, Loyola, Alemany, St. Paul, and Chaminade.
Exactly. Look, props to SF for scheduling the top teams, trust me I truly respect that; however, the fact is they will lose to all of the above teams and go 3-7. If they had Muir's schedule they would most definitely go 8-2, unfortunately for them that's not how it panned out. I respect their program, but they simply will not make the playoffs this year....trust me.
Posted by: The Stang Fan | September 9, 2007 10:56 PM
Ny,
The SF score should have read 27-6, but we fumbled on the 1 yard line and Kevan Walker fumbled in the red zone in which we should have gotten a field goal out of.
Check out our kicker, he's amazing for a sophmore. Reminds me of Sean Kelly.
Posted by: the real hsfbfan | September 9, 2007 10:39 PM
NY,
Nice post, I agree with you 100%. Arcadia should be no.1 until proven otherwise.
Stang Fan,
Those SF kids where extremely tough. They didn't quit and played to the final second. There line was huge as always. People who think SF is down this year is completely wrong. Arcadia is just that good as you indicated. Arcadia and Muir will play for the league title, but its too early to tell who is favorite, probably after week 4 we'll get a better picture.
Posted by: the real hsfbfan | September 9, 2007 10:29 PM
NY:
You are right about one thing, the players should not feel proud about a loss. That should simply never happen. With that said they did bust their behinds and fought back in the second half, and they should feel good about themselves for putting forth a strong effort. They shouldn't be satisfied, but they shouldn't hang their heads either.
As for the game being out of reach after the first half...in all reality it was. And I'm sure Malcolm Jones was "bored" in the first half when he scored on the first play from scrimmage (horrible tackling) and scored two more times. However, Muir came back out of the locker room looking like a totally different team, and when they started handling OC's backups everyone but the QB came back in. As I mentioned earlier Mr. "Bored" himself not only was held scoreless, nor broke any more long runs, but he was visibly winded after Muir's last TD which came after a nice drive with all of OC's starters in. I know he wasn't too bored then, which is why he specified "the first half" when he spoke to the reporter. Of course the QB wasn't going to come back in because we were not going to come back and win, but their back-up was pretty good and was in fact a much better passer than Potter, who is a fantastic runner/athlete.
Bottom line, after not having played a game and with a game under OC's belt, I felt that the Stangs didn't do too bad. I will say however, Oaks Christian will most defintely lose a game or two this year (undoubtedly to St. Bonaventure) but they will still win CIF. With Diamond Ranch looking pretty tough lately it'll be interesting to see how they fare vs. OC.
By the way NY, what do you think Monrovia's chances vs. Arcadia are? Do you agree with your boy O-Cat that MHS has something up their sleeve for Arcadia?

I saw the TC/Arroyo clip over on Freddy's site. DO looked good. He looked smaller than I remembered, but he is sure a tough SOB.
By the way, is Arcadia running a dive option attack?
Posted by: New York | September 9, 2007 7:41 PM
Again, I am not hating on Muir when I say this. Scott and The Stang Fan, if you have ever played ball or coached (which I know Stang Fan has/does) you will know that once a team is up 36-0 at half-time and the coach subsequently removes the starting QB (the position Bill Walsh said is the most important)the rest of the team receives the message that the game is over/out of reach and it is slop time. Turns out that the game was well out of reach. The sophomore running back said the first half was boring because he was scoring too easily.
So Scott, go ahead and put a stake in the heart of credibility of SGV football and move the Mighty Stangs up in the polls to #1 after this loss, surpassing Arcadia after a victory.
Your point on ranking the toughest head-to-head team is valid, but what makes you think that Arcadia is not that team at this point?
I may feel differently if the Stangs are 4-1 and Arcadia 5-0 (if the Stangs are winning impressively against tougher competition).
I can understand the OC loss having a neutral effect on Muir's ranking, but please don't encourage Muir's kids to get excited about their loss. They need to aim for more than that.
As for Monrovia:
Scott, please drop us from the rankings. I think reading our name in the polls gives us false pride. We are better when we need to prove ourselves.
Thank you.

One of the impediments to scheduling varsity games against a D12 and D13 school is those small programs often don't have a full tier of teams at the varsity, junior varsity and freshman levels. Working around that situation always results in significant scheduling difficulties when trying to fill in for the missing JV or freshman games. Anon 2:53, you are deluding yourself if you think even the second tier Rio Hondo League teams would have anything to fear by playing Maranatha - their only concern relates to competing for the RHL's 3rd and final playoff slot. To the extent there are any concerns over someone being exposed, it would be on the part of the small schools like yours that year after year try to favorably compare themselves to the larger division schools without ever playing any team of even medium-level consequence from D11 or higher. If Maranatha is in fact fielding three football squads, I suspect you very well might be able to line up a few pre-season games next year with the RHL second tier teams since they could readily replace teams like Keppel, Hoover, Glendale or Marshall from their schedules. I hope that does happen so we can all have a better way to evaluate how the small schools stack up. Right now, even as good as they might be in their small school division, which is absolutely commendable, an unbiased reviewer would be hard pressed to substantiate how Maranatha would win more than one game if they played the other 9 teams from last week's top 10 poll, which is the true test as to whether or not a team should be in the top 10.

Well in our near area, Arcadia seems to have a very tough team this year... not only do they have talent and a great coaching staff, the kids have a great attitude!!
Did anyone see the TC vs. Arroyo game?? WOW, what a game... it was back and forth all night... and Will Do proved himself that night as one of the best running backs in the area... each year it seems TC comes out with a back that can either run people over, or juke them out of their shoes... this kid is tough... oh and ya, he does have speed too... but why did they only run him 17 times!!! i mean, 160 yards on 17 carries?? thats pretty darn good... more of an air attack this year from TC or what?? the offense seems to have something going, but its the secondary on defense that has to workout alot!! I see TC taking the rio hondo again... after seeing M-Towns game, ya they might have some talent but overall, not good enough in my book... but it is still early so i guess we all cant say much huh??

It IS true that La Salle took Maranatha off of their annual Basketball matchup due to the fact that they would get killed!
Maranatha killed them in summer ball. They even beat PHS and Glendora in Basketball this summer.
As far as football goes, they have been the ones that have turned down a game with Maranatha for the past two or three years.
Maranatha will probably move up a division after this year and hopefully they will start playing at least one or two teams from the Rio Hondo league if there is a team that will risk losing to "lowly Maranatha"..

Should have read: "...beat Rio Hondo this YEAR..."
Posted by: anonymous | September 9, 2007 1:05 PM
Escondido Charter?? NEVER heard of them... Why doesn't Maranatha schedule some real teams?? Poly certainly doesn't count. Why can we ever see a La Salle vs Maranatha match-up?? Now be honest; who is avoiding who?
Rumor has it they may play next year? Rumor also has it that LaSalle refused to play Maranatha this year in BOTH Football and Basketball! Cherry picking?

Marantha plays St Margarets this week...Rio Hondo the next. I agree the Rio Hondo game has been a monkey on their backs but this is their year.
I also heard La Salle is running scared! What is up with that?

Why can't Maranatha get any love?? Yes, they have to beat Rio Hondo this week but that game should be another Maranatha blow out. You guys had them losing last Friday and look what happened 44-0!
They are a small Christian school and can't compare to the bigger local powerhouses but come on! Perhaps if they were St. Maranatha they'd get some Catholic love?
Is Poly having second thoughts for scheduling little 'ol Maranatha...?? That will be an interesting game to track (changed to 9/22 SATURDAY) at Poly's request. I heard they were even trying to wiggle out of that game.
Rumor has it LaSalle refuses to play them in basketball this year. What's up with that?

You know O-Cat is right about waiting awhile to see who really is good and who isn't. I know those in Ann Arbor would have appreciated if the AP waited. Anyhow, ranking the teams early is very difficult, but it also provides area fans the chance to talk prep football, which can't be a bad thing.
back 2 back & Mr. Alcala:
Glendale is like a JV team. A JV team that was actually beating you guys at some point during the game. You guys beat a team that hasn't won a game since 2005. Muir lost to a team that hasn't lost a game since 2003. You do the math. Muir, Arcadia, Duarte, St. Francis, Monrovia, Temple City, PHS, hell even Maranatha would beat you guys. I guess we'll find out the truth next week.
O-Cat:
If nothing else you sure have faith in your boys, I respect that. But, do you think that your boys will really beat Arcadia? If they do, I for one will be shocked. And if you guys do beat Arcadia, what does that say about SF. I sure do wish Chris Harris would have stayed at Muir, he would have been a nice back-up for Youngblood.

Thats the same thing Monrovia thought about Duarte, but you see what happens, when you think before you play..

I have no Idea what OC did in their game agaist Muir, I wasn't there this year....I was there last year.

I dont think Alhambra should be ranked #1 because I don't think they played well against a team that wasn't supposed to test them. I know Brown broke a long td run that was called back and punt return that was called back as well but the penalties are something that will kill any team and it hurt the Moors in the game vs Glendale.Plus give credit where it is due, I know nothing about Glendale except that they went 0-10 last year and that did not look like a team that will have that same record this year, but only time will tell. A good early season wake up call for the Moors though.

The Stang Fan's comments on another post shed some light on what happened at Oaks Christian.
I don't care if it's against the second string, third string or waterboy, the fact that Muir came back, and more impressive to me, shut out Oaks in the second half, says a lot.
That said, to me, the top 10 is about which team is perceived the best team in the area, not who won or lost last week.
Head to head, with the talent they have, it's hard for me to see any team in the area knocking off the Mustangs. Can it happen, absolutely. I just don't see it this season.
So, yes, they could move to No. 1 with a loss.
They played a team that would more than likely destroy anyone in this area, including the Tribune schools.

Observantcat at what point of the Muir OC game did OC put in there 2nd and 3rd string dawg....

Alhambra was rank no.3 bro you guys lost..stop crying about who you think your team will blow out and get a win.wasn't Muir down 20-0 at half..yall don't have the players to be talking about blowing anybody out..Stop playing OC and play the areas teams..yes alhambra was down but they woke up and got the W.Muir never did wake up dog.

I think Alhambra should be ranked first .they had three touchdowns called back which would've made the score 47-15.Oh and did i mention they had a sophmore QB & WR for parts of the game and they were still able to pull off the Win.Its like they played with Glendale like they were some kind of JV team!
I expect alot of good things coming from this team, not just this season but for seasons to come!

Monronvia has no clue what they are doing. Arcadia will walk over monrovia this year.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 9:48 AM
Alhambra showed they are no better than glendale and hoover. What a sad story.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 9:46 AM
As far as Monrovia is concerned, It has'nt missed a beat with Smith. This Kid could be in line to gain 1800 yards by the end of the season. Monrovia has very young team
witha whole lot of great potential and even against Duarte it showed. Mistakes have cost the team points as well as bad coaching decisions. But overall the talent is there, This Arcadia game will be a very good scale as too see if Arcadia is for real. Alhambra beat Glendale..hmmm Glendale gave up more than 500 pts last year and I dont think they've gotten any better. Muir still needs to prove to themselves worthy of being number one to a lot of football fans. TO me personally I think it's a toss-up until the pre-season ends. Most teams are rebuilding and no one really knows from week to week who will show up.
Posted by: Observantcat | September 9, 2007 9:45 AM
back to back:
Alhambra? Are you serious? Alhambra????? You have GOT to be joking. I can see Arcadia ahead of Muir (good win) but Alhambra?????????? Come on dog, be realistic. You've got a nice little team but there's NO way you guys are better than Muir. And yeah, this isn't the nineties, but it doesn't matter, we would BLOW you guys out. Bro, Glendale was beating at one point during the game....what a joke.
Posted by: The Stang Fan | September 9, 2007 9:34 AM
Alhambra should be no.1 they won and the two teams that were ranked in front of them lost.I don't care who Muir is playing they lost stop playing teams knowing that there going to kill you every year this is not the 90's..Arcadia should get some love for knocking off the no.1 team but you can't skip a team that also won..I heard Alhambra had three touchdowns called back..I know that's part of the game but they still won..
