With the season winding down, which players are worthy of All-Area? Who's the best?

Above: Pasadena's Michael Harrison against Burroughs.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I've said it before that the last thing I want to be is a gatekeeper and babysitter, and I want this to be a forum where everyone can talk about their teams, get into solid discussions and even have heated debates.
With the Turkey Tussle and other big games coming up, there has become more trash talking on this board, as well as double and triple posts by annonymous posters using different names.
Let's keep clean and please, NO BASHING OF PLAYERS OR COACHES. Also, comments with obscenities (even if they are abreviated) are not welcome and may be deleted.
For the most part, things have been pretty clean. Let's keep it that way, and have fun.
Thank you again.

Flintridge Sacred Heart lost in five games to Harvard-Westlake Thursday night in a match that took a little over two hours and 20 minutes to play.
It was a match that had all the elements of a championship match.
Despite the loss, I would have to say that right now, FSHA is well deserving of the top spot in our poll. The Tologs are well-balanced, have a soild front line and setter, and Katie Condon is quite an outside hitter.
Harvard-Westlake is also an outstanding team with good size and balance. The Wolverines have an extremely talented setter in Katherine Sebastian.
For a non-playoff match, this was one of the best girls volleyball matches I've seen in some time.

Vikings open some eyes in win over Temple City

Blair High's Devin Fuller picks up a first down during the first half of Rio Hondo League action against Temple City on Friday night. The Vikings remained unbeaten with a 22-10 victory. (Keith Birmingham/Staff Photographer)
Blair High School snapped an 11-game Rio Hondo League losing streak with a big win over Temple City.
I wasn't able to get an answer on when the last time Blair beat Temple City. The closest answer I got by many sources was "a long time."
Everyone talked about Blair's speed, led by Devin Fuller and Raheem Broadnex.
After seeing them in person, I would have to put those two, along with Reinaldo Reyes, as amomg the fastest in the area.
What impressed me the most about the Vikings' win, however, was their defense. For the most part, they were able to shut down Will Do, who returned from a shoulder injury.
Overall, their run defesne is perhaps their weakness, as Johnny Escobedo was able to break off some big runs.
Blair did come up with the big plays when it needed them the most.
And that definitely wasn't the same Temple City team I saw get blown out against Alhambra.
This was a huge win for Blair over a team that could still make noise in the RHL.
I don't feel this can be described as an upset either.

San Gabriel High School quarterback proving to be a true leader

Hello, your old pal Fred J. We don't normally run Rose Court videos in prep blogs, but this year's Rose Court has a sporty feel to it. Making the final cut was princess Dusty Gibbs, an Arcadia High shortstop and Star-News all-area selection as a junior. Another shout out goes to princess Gaelen Stanford-Moore, who will be a third-year varsity soccer and softball player at South Pasadena. Pasadena High School princess Katie Merrill was captain of the Bulldogs volleyball team, but stepped aside to pursue her Rose Court dreams. Congratulations to all the young ladies for their achievements on and off the field, and enjoy your Rose Court experience.
