Pasadena High School football coach Kevin Mills said his team was ready for its game on Friday night at Burbank Burroughs High School.
The Bulldogs will have to wait a couple more days.
Friday’s game was postponed until Monday night at Burroughs.
“We were at the Burbank local AQMD Web page and the numbers were approaching the unsafe levels,” Burroughs assistant principal in charge of athletics Jay Gudzen said. “So we made the decision to reschedule the game for Monday.”
The Bulldogs (4-3, 3-1) were in sole possession of third place entering Friday night’s Pacific League action.
Now, with a game scheduled next Friday against Crescenta Valley at Glendale High, they find themselves with two games in a five-day span.
“As of right now, we prepared well for Burroughs, so hopefully that will carry over to Glendale,” Mills said. “This is the time of the season you hope your team is refining areas of concern.”
Burroughs is no stranger to playing a Monday night game. The Bulldogs played Newhall Hart High School Nov. 3, 2003 at College of the Canyons and followed that up with a game at Canyon Country Canyon on Nov. 7.
This time around, Burroughs is the host team.
“It takes a lot of preparation, but we’re not going to put the safety of our kids at risk,” Gudzen said.
Mills and his team took a positive approach to playing on Monday.
“I think that it’s every man’s dream to play Monday night football,” Mills said. “I just don’t know if it’s at this level.”

burroughs will beat phs and their dumb coaches by 14 on monday and then they will lose to arcadia after having very few days to prepare for coach d and his boys.
a couple extra days...some extra time to fine tune the new looks...Burroughs by 10.
if the dogs bring there A game . they will win by 14....
I'd still say a lot of people care. Both schools are very much in the playoff hunt and a loss will diminish these hopes. Also, not only is 3rd place is at stake, but looking at the standings if Burroughs happens to win out they will finish in 2nd alone. Now this is a big if, however this has been a crazy one thus far.
It's a shame people need to use this blog as a hate tool.
Obviously, you're not aware that Pasadena can stay in sole possion of third place with a win, while Burroughs can force a three-way tie with Pasadena and Crescenta Valley.
I'd say a lot of people care.
when the bulldogs win they would be in the playoffs
who cares? two non playoff teams playing on monday night due to their game being pushed back. this isnt news i'll take burroughs in this exhibition game
On a Monday night- I'll take Burroughs by 10.
