BURBANK - Pasadena High School provided a memorable finish to the Pacific League football game against Burbank Burroughs on Monday, making the three-day wait well worth it.
Bulldogs quarterback Tyron Crockom threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Da Vante La Flora and ran in the two-point conversion with 3:12 to play in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs a wild 28-27 come-from-behind victory over the stunned Bulldogs at Burroughs High's Memorial Field in a game originally scheduled for Friday but moved to Monday because of poor air quality.
"That was a big, big touchdown, that's all I can say," La Flora said. "We needed this win to get into the playoffs."
Rather than go for the tie, Pasadena coach Kevin Mills decided to go for two and Crockom wove past would-be tacklers before diving into the end zone to give the Bulldogs the lead and the win.
"There was never a question about going for two points," Mills said. "It was what they wanted and what I wanted."
The Bulldogs (5-3, 4-1) avoided falling into a three-way tie for third in the Pacific League and pulled into a tie for second with Arcadia with two games remaining.
"We've been talking about wanting to be league champions through a three-way tie for first or something like that," Crockom said. "We came out, and we're ready to take home first."
Crockom had one of his best all-around efforts of the season.
The three-year starter was 15-of-21 passing for 214 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the Bulldogs in rushing with 137 yards and another TD.
B 7-0 Dominique Barnes 2- yard run (Andre Yanez kick)
P 7-6 Tyron Crockom 7-yard run (kick blocked)
P 7-14 Arness Ikner 33-yard pass from Crockom (Ikner pass from Crockom)
B 13-14 Chris Morris 19-yard pass from Corey Howard (Kick failed)
B 20-14 Andrew DeLaloza 23-yard pass from Shane Murphy (Yanez kick)
P 20-20 Michael Harrison 9-yard pass from Crockom (Kick failed)
B 27-20 Victor Felix 5-yard run (Yanez kick)
P 27-28 Da Vante La Flora 2-yard pass from Crockom (Crockom run)

Huck...You r the greatest!!! I love seeing yoi fired up...But you thinkin wit your heart heart and not your head. They don't have "the numbers they should have" because 1. they all get the ball 2. Willie has 1000 yards rushing and Bingo is close to 1000 rushing and has over 1000 passing.
You just named 6 muir players that get the ball and you didn't mention Willie or Bingo. Now name who is going to stop all these weapons....Don't worry...I'll wait.
On another note: all ya'll talking about Trump and Mr. Harrison need to quit being cowards. Trump plays hard and Coach Mike has done a lot for too many Muir students to be talked about when he has not been a contributor to this blog....Talk about Huck all ya'll want.. he's grown and can take as much as he dishes out.
Oh yes! 7 more days!
Anonymous,
Why don’t we talk about these players, because I’ve been to over; 5 Muir games and have seen these players play since “POP WARNER” my son played with these guys.
Here’s Huckster take:
Let's talk about Muir: Marcus Graves (good player to slow), Myles Campbell (good player Bingo can’t get him the ball in middle of field), Marcus Thompson (good player very inconsistent and very beatable), Austin Daniels (good player but lacks courage), and Chris Dunlap (a rookie still learning). These are the kids the bulldogs have to stop. Way Too much (only in your mind!). Enough said. (!) Owens is the real deal, but Bingo can’t throw the mid range pass and that’s why your receivers don’t have the numbers they should have! I’ve played football my whole life, so I’m giving a football assessment!
Stang Fan,
Let's get one thing straight! I never mention "whit folks" not once! The obvious is the obvious! As for contradiction, I don’t know what you’re talking about? I stated, facts that happen in a crucial part of the game! Is a personal foul a first down? You probably wouldn’t know that, because you never played live contact football! Further more we don’t need any help from anybody! Period! I thought they put the game on Monday to try and throw our kids a curve ball! They’ll never help Muir and as long as Pasadena High has an African American coach they’ll try some funny stuff to them too! We the Dogs won’t need any help from the Ref’s or any excuses, because the only thing that will be comical is when we jump all on you “JACKASSES”!
Pasadena's already working on their excuses...so many games in so few days...the officials don't like us..and other whining.
If anything, the officials cannot concentrate because they are laughing so hard at the comments and behavior that come from the Pasadena side.
Anonymous,
What over rated receiver would you be talking about? Arness has been steady at wide out and DB. Trump missed the “Hoover” game and still has 744 yards, so you know if he plays that game he would be around 900 with 2 games to play! The Blog is getting tacky, but I like it! I see somebody hit my boy Ryan Graves up! I really don’t have to speak up for my son, because his play speaks for it’s self! Anonymous have to bring these Muir players up to “what”? Make PHS scared? I’m so happy the Bowl is on the 8th this is great! Go Dogs! Don’t be scared to be you!
Huckster:
Yes, bro, you are in fact crazy. Why, oh why, would John Burroughs H.S. decide to postpone a game that would force them to play the dogs AND Arcadia 4 days apart? That would be completely idiotic. Oh, they did it to help out Muir. Yeah right!
And let me get this right......the "Pacific League officials" are now TRYING to help Muir out? Isn't Muir one of those "Pasadena schools" that you are insinuating gets worked over by the conspiring system of refs and essentially "white folks." Come on now bro, I mean I'm not immune from a contradiction or two, but to contradict yourself on the same thread is comical.
BTW, someone on here mentioned that "Huck is on his own," man.....they ain't never lied. You are truly are on your own in thinking that the dogs have any chance to beat the Stangs. And there are a couple of reasons for that.....they're called talent and coaching. You guys have a little bit of the former, but absolutely NONE of the latter!
Ok, why are talking about a overrated receiver who plays for a pass happy offense? Plus, these post make me sick. Pasadena acts as if the world owes them something and everyone is against you. The refs don't have a reason to cheat, it's actually the things you make up in yo head. Please. I think I know what's it caled... The Napoleon Bonaparte disease
Let's talk about Muir: Marcus Graves, Myles Campbell, Marcus Thompson, Austin Daniels, and Chris Dunlap. These are the kids the bulldogs have to stop. Way Too much. Enough said.
Ok losers enough is enough STOP TALKING ABOUT MY NEWPHW TRUMPET! He is a kid and big or little you have crossed the line “anonymous” you are the real coward.
Scott G. do me a favor and take “anonymous” post off talking about my family. Scott you know as well as I do that with a little technology we can find out who is bloging from what real e-mail address.
Also I have read on other posts were someone comments about Willie Youngblood and his eligibility. The blogers went crazy; REMEMBER MY FATHER IS THEIR (MUIR) TEACHER AND HE IS KEEPING THEM ELIGIBILE. Real men do that idiots, because it about the kids.
So please keep talking about football and stats only. AND NO THIS IS NOT HUCK OR COACH MILLS. Trumpet has a very large family that supports him. I just get angry when nameless people want to attack kids and my father. Huck is on his own.
Hal,
Muir, Arcadia, Glendale, Burbank and CV played in the same conditions, plus PHS’s Tennis Teams played at Burroughs during the day time when the conditions were worse! The game would’ve been at night. So, am I wrong to assume such things? If you went to the game I guess the officiating was good too? For example; in every football game across America a “Personal Foul” face mask is a first down, but in our game against Burroughs they gave them a 10 yard penalty on a 3rd and 20 at our 20 yard line; making the Dogs replay 3rd and 10 when it should have been first down on the 35 yard line. I’m no where near crazy, but I could go somewhere else on how the Pasadena schools get officiated against our neighboring schools. They all ways say it’s not that, but can’t explain what it really is!!!!!!!
I didn't know that the Pacific League officials controlled the air quality.
What a smart plan Muir must have had, make sure there were enough fires and enough smoke and air pollution to make PHS have to play 3 games in 11 days. That's brilliant.
The pressure is building for the "Stangs"! You’re lucky some of the Pacific League officials are working for you "Bums" by giving us 3 games in eleven days! But what they did was help us out by shortening our week up until the bowl. I can’t wait until Friday is over and we’re 5-1 getting ready to be 6-1 and crowned Pacific League Champs! As far as the playoffs PHS has a better chance than Muir! Bingo is prone for some huge mistakes in big games. Arcadia couldn’t take advantage, because they were on their heels all night! It seems everyone is going for the “Stangs” which is a good thing, because it will feel that much better after it’s all over! Let’s go Dogs! Let’s Go!
Anonymous you are talking about three generations of Harrison’s? Now, folks who know me “Love me or Hate me”! Know, “ANONYMOUS” would not want any parts of me! A matter of fact I’m willing to bet on his life, that he doesn’t know his father or his grandfather. My father was kicked out off the sidelines because another PHS official said something to the “Ref” that was calling a horrible game! You can blast me but you didn’t finish! The “Midget” is my boy and if you have a enough nerve to come by my dad’s after the game I will personally slap you! I might go to your house and slap you! I can’t wait until game day! They say PHS talks trash!
Look I'm a Stang for life but I can let anbody talk bad about Mr. Harrison or Trumpet I know them both personally. Calling Trumpet a Midget only makes you look like an idiot using this blog to talk about a kid. If your disrespect a kid put your name on it if your so tough. Let's talk about football and stats. I dont know huck so i cant speak on that but trumpet is a real good kid and his grandfather has done alot for THE CITY of Pasadena and me personally. And if your talking about him you must not be from dena... anonymous. And that's coming from a real Stang
All of this going back and forth about who beat who means nothing. Nov 8 all the questions will be answered. I laugh when i hear muir has suspect db's. Arcadia couldnt pass against muir until they put the 3rd string in. Franklin was a fluke loss(BUT a loss is a loss). I actually like trumpet and ikner.. but it's not enough for a "W" in the Rose Bowl"
HUCK you are the definition of a coward.
Dont think for one SECOND the people of the blogs have forgotten about your "mishaps"!!!!
you came over to the arcadia locker room during halftime, cussed them out then hid in the women's bathroom! you fool! you woke up the average apaches and they SMASHED on your 'Dogs!! Did your son thank you for that? You know, the MIDGET!!
It's OK though, The Stangs will be undefeated and ready for you at the Rose Bowl. The Dogs just better keep their end of the bargain.
The 'Dogs defense got SMASHED again. Do you coach the DEFENSE?! They play like you talk, STOOPID!
HA HA, grandpa Harrison got kicked out of the Burroughs game on Monday! How does your son feel that he is the most mature out of THREE GENERATIONS of HARRISONS?!?!?

What you people will notice is that the only winning team Muir beat was Arcadia and the only winning team Arcadia beat was Pasadena. Muir played the Arcadia game at home and we (PHS) played at Arcadia.

To the StangFan,
As for adults going around yapping about players, the Muir people talk more trash than the law would permit! I notice you Muir people with kids on the team want PHS to lay down for you, so you could feel “MIGHTY” but you guys hold that thought, because we want that title too! I don’t have to say how good our kids are, because on Thursday November 8th will tell all!
Huckster:
Yes, I'm an adult. But unlike all these dog fans I do not go around Dena yapping about how "sorry" the players are. I suppose there are Muir fans that do that as well, but you know as well as I that that is what A LOT of adult dogs fans do.
As far as the game goes, I have a couple of questions for you. Do you really think that all we have is Willie? Even so, isn't that enough to beat you guys anyway? Didn't Arcadia "only have" Ahmaz? How, and I mean HOW do you stop Bingo? Hasn't Ahmere been getting the ball a lot lately? And do you have ANYONE to stop him? If you get lucky and just happen to stop one or two of them, how do you legitimately guard against the third guy? And if pigs actually fly over the Rose Bowl on Nov. 8, and you miraculously stop those ultra-talented players, how do you stop Marcus Graves? Myles Campbell? Marcus Thompson? Austin Daniels? Chris Dunlap?
I know, I know.....it's scary ain't it. Just be lucky you aren't the D-coordinator, I'd really HATE to be THAT guy. There's a reason why we've averaged over 46 points a game during our six-game stretch....and it ain't just Willie Youngblood, buddy.
Stnag Fan are you an adult? Muir will not win a CIF ring, because your DB’s are suspect and your offense has “YOUNGBLOOD” only! You guys really can’t use Owens, because you can’t get him the ball consistently. The Muir fans say PHS’s fans dream? Yawl got a lot of nerves!!!!! I’m glad all the talking will be over in a couple of days!
Anonymous = Coward,
Muir has a great defense no doubt, but to say their DB’s are good or great is a stretch. Franklin was running right by them and Arcadia should have tried to pass more, because they were beating the DB’s in that game. I like the “out loud” confidence Muir has, but we are not Arcadia and this anit no regular game. The Muir faithfuls wanted PHS to lose to Burroughs, because they didn’t want the Dogs to go into the TUSSLE and fight for the Pacific League Title. Muir doesn’t want any added pressure to the game or for PHS to have any extra incentives, because to be honest the Dogs don’t have anything to lose, but everything to gain. The pressure is all on Muir! The Defense, Arness, Trump and Tyron are going to go crazy on November 8th! Let’s Go Dogs! Let’s Go! Oh, I know who you are “Buster on the Hill”!
Muir players:
Just in case any of you guys read this...you must understand something. The dogs are NOTHING.......absoutely NOTHING on your road to success. Every year they stand on their little hind legs and bark until their little hearts are content, that their team is FINALLY good and they are going to FINALLY beat the Stangs in the Bowl. They've been saying that since 1985!!! How old were your parents in 1985? Only once since then did their empty boasts ring true, and they got lucky in THAT game. I know, I know,it's actually kind of sad if you think about it.......poor puppies. But hey, it the dogs, who gives a DAMN about those measley mutts.
Again, the dogs are NOTHING......NOTHING at all in the grand scheme of things. They go around talking about how they are going to beat Muir only because that's all they have to play for. Once they hit the playoffs (for the first time in YEARS) they will be one and done and their only hope is that the same thing happens to Muir. That's why they bark and bark and bark....it's to make the Stangs SO fired up that they expend all their energy into that one game. Well, I know that this team is smarter than that. I know that this team has one goal in mind.....and beating the dogs is NOT it. The Stangs need that ring. Period.
So do the alumni and yourselves a favor and just ignore the stupid barking that occurs around Dena. And no fellow bloggers, I am not talking about kids yapping away, I'm talking about adult fans talking all this nonsense. So Stangs, do what you do best, play fast and play hard and treat the dogs like any other team, because what will seperate you from other Muir teams is not beating the dogs (which most Muir teams have done) it will be earning that ultimate prize.......that CIF bling!!!
LET'S GO STANGS!!!
Geez, PHS fans act like they won a championship last night. Try not to fight friday night against Glendale. Last years game was nasty when Pasadena started a fight against a 0-10 team.
Anonymous:
You are absolutely right about PHS' run defense. Do you suggest that they petition CIF to allow 13 defenders whenever Youngblood enters the game?
MAD PROPS to Crockom and the PHS receiving core.
Crockom really did look like Mike Vick last night.
BUT that run defense over at HS is TERRIBLE!!!
Good Luck To The DOGS and oh yeah...
BEAT THE STANGS!!
PHS fans did you not see your rival Muir handle Arcadia, who
manhandled you girls? To top it off, your coach cried after the game. I don't expect anything less then Muir deflating you girls by three or four touchdowns. Try beating a team with a winning record and then we'll talk!
Hey anonymous u asked why Trumpet is named Trumpet and not flute or saxophone. Did u ride the short yellow bus in school. Don't ask stupid questions idiot.
Congrats PHS.
ATOMIC DAWWG
Why is his name Trumpet? Why not Flute or Saxaphone?
Jones, I can't believe u made a statement about the Stangs being afraid of the Dogs. Jones I bet u were born in the eighties. The Stangs have never ever been afraid of the puppies. So put that in ur crack pipe and smoke it. All the talk about St. Francis and Oaks Christian having resources. We did'nt have great facilities at Muir in 86, however, we put the smash on everybody including St. Francis and the Dogs. We had a great coaching staff and a great program. In fact, I bet our team GPA was higher than St. Francis or any other school in the area. On a lighter note I gotta give mad props to my nephew, Trumpet Harrison. Some of u criticize his height. Trump is highly competitive, highly talented, has great football savvy, and oh, a lot of heart. When he steps on the gridiron he takes care of business. Trump makes plays every game. For u so called football fans on the blog these attributes signify a great player, no matter his size. Scott G., I answered ur question. Bar none, Trump is the best receiver in the area. Keep eatin Trump! Go Stangs.

i like how "da dawgs" went away for a week after the beating they took and now are talkin like nothing ever happened
Nice win by the Bulldogs.
Now you get an easy one on Friday.
Hey jones, how can they "always" have players at your games... do they not also play high school football on Friday nights? Don't try and make them look dumb because your success was only placed upon yourself.
huck,
whatever u do and say, try to act like a grown man. its a game for your son, remember ur not playing. support him win or lose. act bigger than the game. and I might add that I highly doubt pasadena will stop big willie.
Yes! We are taking every victory! I know yawl been talking a lot of smack about me, but I can take it! I got something for all the bloggers that know me! I'm never embarrassed when dealing with yawl! You Pasadena people needed something to talk about to make your selves feel good! You people have called my son names and pointed the obvious at every chance you get, but I’ll tell you this, when PHS win the bowl! Hell is to be paid! I’m telling you now, you people don’t know me!
jones i really dont think you understand football. Everybody scouts other teams when they dont have a game it's called good coaching. PHS is always at our games to so your argument dosent hold up. If you wanna talk about the tussle lets talk numbers and stats. You guys on the eastside crack me up
Woooow!!! what a player Crockom is,last night i took the 25 min. drive to burbank too catch a bonus game(monday night) and was i amazed by this young man's ability.I THOUGHT "MIKE VICK" was no longer in football...BEST all purpose QB i seen in high school in a while.Very strong arm ,pump and go, and it seemed to me like he was the play caller,im sure the coach sends in a play but after that it's all CROCKOM... GREAT JOB TYRONE!. ALHAMBRA MOORS FOOTBALL
Good Job BULLDOGS!! I'm not going to talk Sh*^ about anyone else(MUIR), but just take it 1(ONE) game at a time...Get'm Dogs! Bow,wow, wow yippe, yo, yippe yea!!!
I agree there alway Muir fan and Muir football players in the stand at our game. What is Muir afraid of!!!Why do Muir coachs sent player to our game to spy on us!!I guess they need a edges for the game against Dogs!!!Be a afraid Muir,Be very a afraid!!
Pasadena defense show lot hearts and stop burroughs offense when they had too!
A win is a win!!!
So look out Muir we coming for you!! that why Muir fan attend our game every weeks. They can spy on us and still won't matter. This is our year!!!
Go Dogs!!!
WAIT Arcadia has to play Burroughs this week so if Pasadena beat Burroughs and if Acadia beat Pasadena that means Arcadia will beat Burroughs THATS TRANSITIVE PROPERTY !!! I KNOW MY MATH!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
OH yeah one more thing the air is good so i think Arcadia actually PRACTICED this week so I'm expecting a win from Arcadia when i go watch this game hehe
i wish h.s. woulda beat arcadia so that the stangs coulda beat the hell out of them in front of a bigger crowd.
What PHS won? Oh they took off their skirts and played. Oh I know coach mills is wearing all the skirts!
