I dont know how south Pas is ranked even 11th in CIF mid-valley division. I mean they lost to the two big power houses in the rio hondo league. Monrovia 40 south pas 14 and then next week they lose to Temple City 20 South pas 14. Theres no way the tigers will make the playoffs this year or the next, especially with Blair coming up and Monrovia and Temple City will always be competitive in league play(In which thats what matters anyways)

Arcadia...thats all that needs to be said...Arcadia

Arcadia v. Pasadena. Confirming that I'll be there. Should be a good one! I'll provide my analysis following.

all the dog fans are hillarious. beat arcadia (which u wont. when was the last time you got a big win), then talk to me about the stangs. The stangs are averaging 40 plus, and giving up about 10 per game. that dosent sound like a suspect offence or deffence

Arcadia 27
Pasadena 21

I expect a close game. PHS offense will score time to time, but the game will be won by arcadia in the trenches. Don't get me wrong, I have much respect for the way PHS is playing but I just don't see them winning the battle up in the trenches.

the real hsfbfan

Find out what?

That the Apaches are overrated?

its funny how PHS fans think there so good will find out tomorrow

Of course I truly believe that the Stangs will beat the dogs, there is NO question in my mind. To be honest if we don't score 30-40 points I'll be surprised. We are just a better overall team and much better coached than the "sand drawers."

But, the argument that the anonymous poster uses in regards to the records of the opponents PHS has beaten doesn't hold much water, especially when you compare Muir's and Arcadia's opponent's records. The teams Arcadia beat are a combined 7-27-1 while the teams Muir beat are 3-20-1. The worst thing about these stats is that our league teams simply are not preparing us for the playoffs.

pasadena has wins over teams that are a combined 4-19 they wont beat muir arcadia or burroughs

Just like the last guy said another phs fan exicited over an average record. It shows how poor your program is. You haven't beat ANYBODY with a winning record. You also lost to a team that's only been playing football for two years you sound real dumb. Get it done first then run your mouth.

dawgs house! see i ben tellin yall all damn year that dem dawgs would go undefeated in league and yall said i was this and that. yall aint nothin. now were 3-0 in league and we about to pop sorry-a$$ arcadia beat glenadale and buroughs and murder the stangs. yeah i see all these stang fans cumin outta the woodwerks and tryin to attack my boy dawg 87 and my boy huck! ooooweeee i cant wait for the tussle this year. we are cumin with a fully loaded arsonal readt to drop bombs all over muirs dbs. if u dont know then u gotta lot to learn! this is our year and we r gonna smach arcadia and muir and ring the bell all the way to ship. its dawgs house baby! its us agiangst the world. always has been and always will be but we aint trippin cause all the other teams is trash especially the stanks!

Is ESPN or local cable still looking for a RIVALRY GAME to broadcast?

Sounds like the TUSSLE crowd is getting volcanic - nothing new there, man it runs deep though.

Put your inside elbow up, rip the wishbone out of the turkey and run like hell! Sometimes it is a good thing to live in Pasadena.

The "TWO MAN TEAM" can't beat SG with Brown, without him expect a blow out...They did not play anyone in Pre-season, and it's showing, I said from the start they would not go far in the play-offs. but now they won't even make it.. 2 LOSSES WONT GET YOU IN THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!

It's funny to hear somebody from PHS or Arcadia use the term "delusional fools" when talking about Muir. When is the last time Pasadena went to the playoffs. When is the last time they beat muir? It's been over a decade since your last Rose Bowl win. Just shut up and play. Your always crying about being overlooked it's because you dont win! This year you have 3(on the field) wins and you think your world beaters. Get in the playoffs win against Muir and maybe somebody would give you credit. Taking shots at muir makes you look silly because you haven't beat them in Ten Years! Tell Mills to throw away the wardrobe gimicks(last year he came out in red and black army gear) and just play the game.

For the bulldog fan who said Muir has a lack of offense have you realized in there last four games they have scored 47, 48,61, and 33, and thier suspect defense has only given up 6,0,18, and 3. I'm saying this to say either you have been looking at the wrong box score or your just an idiot..... dont forget one of your wins isnt't legit dont get excited yet ok

Freddie: It is an interesting time. But if Williams stays healthy, look for Monrovia to return very soon.

Goldenarm -
Our line is big, but is still trying to get its groove back after 3 weeks of shuffling due to injuries. In the 2 losses we couldn't find any consistency on either side of the ball and yet could have won them both. These kids have heart and never quit. The defense, which was dominant pre-injury in weeks 1-4, is back intact and will set the tone against S.G.

moorsfan
- what happened to all the hype about the sasquatch size front line?
The lineup in the program reads like a mini- sumo tournament...a couple 300 lb plus refrigerators.
Is the O-line hurt or just not playing up to expectation?
How do you sum up the losses - and what makes you confident it is behind them? I am packin zero hate - just wondering what they need to do to turn it around?

gotta love the haters! Only bad mouth teams, but don't support one? True-Alhambra lost two you wouldn't expect, but that's behind them. The So.ElMonte game doesn't look as bad after Souths win over Rosemead and the injuries seem to have cleared up. The D is back intact except for 1 guy. Last week was all backup linebackers. Alhambra will get back on track with a win over S.G. and reagain the respect they deserve.

According to the scoreboard--Blair is at San Marino. As for who will win this or any other game I think we've all seen that predicting a football game is a joke. Any given game can be won or lost by either team....just ask USC, LSU, et. al. I guess that's why the games get played. I will say that I'm happy to see Blair playing well. I remember playing them year ago where they managed to play us to a tie--we went on to make it to the Semi-finals in CIF that year before getting spanked by a team that moved to Division I the following year.... It's good for the RHL to have as many teams possible contending!

Stang Fan,

I say that because if Arcadia wins and then somehow PHS beats Muir and arcadia loses to Muir then it will be a tie-up (as long as each team takes care of business.)

I just think Arcadia will win this one but it will be a ground it out sort of game for them on offense.

The Pacific league will be determined on Friday, because PHS and Arcadia will both beat Muir. Well, I know PHS is going to beat Muir and Arcadia has a hellava chance, because of Muir's lack of offence and a very suspect defense. The Muir people are some "delusional fools" when it comes to their football team. Now that they beat Burroughs, they feel like world beaters! They say, Dogs fans have myopia? Go figure!

anonymous,(creative pen name)
Please explain why SM will be "intimidated" at Muir??

I think we know who in the RHL is better than they use to be but, I don't think we know who is woeful yet or the best team, SM wins are off of teams a combined 6-21, Blairs are off of teams 6-25, LC losses are off of teams a combined 13-5, one of those losses is to harvard-westlake 35-0, but HW also beat Pasadena 26-9. At the end of league there will be some coins tossed.

I dont get San Marino being ranked by the CIF. They tie a woeful La Canada team. They have scored only 7 points in each of thier last two games. Teams have stacked up against the run and have stopped thier talented running back cold. San Marino loses to Blair this week and hopefully i dont see this one dimensional team in the rankings next week.

you cant forget about Arcadia being a good team and Chaminade is another team that is very talented

St Francis has by far the toughest schedule in the area, notre dame, los altos, loyola, saugus, all very tough teams. they may have a bad record, but they are still better than most of the teams in the area.

Never imagined a day when Monrovia and T.C. couldn't make the top ten

This has already been a strange year for the RHL, I bet it gets a little stranger this friday night when LC whips Monrovia.

Arcadia will win by double digits! Just a warm up for the shootout with Muir! Muir wins that game but it's a close one.

Blair is gaining Mo as winning is contagiuos! They beat SM by 14. SM will be intimidated as the game is at Muir correct?

Seems like old times with all the fuss over not one but ALL 3 Pasadena public schools! ( if only muir could improve their test scores!)

Arcadia is the top team right now in a very average Pacific League. Congrats! However when CIF begins, it will be one and out. At most two. Just reality speaking.

Stang Fan
On a tough week to put together a Top 10, yours looks pretty good.

In two weeks I suspect Monrovia will have edged towards the top 5. Despite Blair's record they are a work in progress - meaning they could implode and spiral into mediocrity. On they other hand, should they go the other way and improve - LOOK OUT. Having not seen Arcadia first hand, I still question ...are they without doubt that good??

Stang Fan:

You should be a stand-up comedian! The tangent you went out on describing Blair's recent success was hilarious. Too funny.

On a more serious note, go Vikings! You have a lot of people cheering for you to win it all!!!!!

How can anyone have Alhambra even ranked. losing to two winless teams in a row!!! This Fri. will be thier third loss SG 45 AHS 14. The two man team is down to one running back, although he is a great back, he cant carry the whole team... ALHAMBRA won't even make the play-off.........

Here's my take on the polls.

1. Arcadia (I don't care what calpreps says, beating SF is a quality win. But, that was Week One and a lot has changed since then. This week and next will determine whether or not the Apaches are the best team in the area.)

2. Muir (Although they have yet to score a quality win, last week's final score at Burroughs turned some heads. As a matter of fact, my buddy who was at the game said that the Burroughs fans were discussing how they hadn't been beaten that bad at their house since their days in the Foothill league. It's going to be hard not to look past Burbank and ahead to Arcadia, but that's what the coaches have got to do.)

3. SF (When SF finishes this season at 3-7 they will still deserve to be in the top half of this poll.....PERIOD.)

4. PHS (I'm going with the dogs ahead of Blair for two reasons. One, Blair has a freshman qb compared to PHS's senior qb. Second, I think that PHS would have beaten TC by much more than Blair did. But screw all that it's all about this Friday's game vs. Arcadia.)

5. Blair (The Vikings remind me a lot of that really fat chick in high school that no one EVER really talked to. Then you see her about 10 years later in the store or at the gym and she's thin and gorgous. You guys date for awhile and it's all good for the first few months, but as the relationship continues you notice her old "fat-complexes" are starting to resurface. Now all she obsesses about is all the new attention she's getting, the tremendous fear of re-gaining the weight, and how much better she is than all of the other fat people in the world. Next thing you know the relationship doesn't work out and you see her a year or two later and she's as big as a Beluga whale........If Tip ever leaves Blair I surely hope that the administration there institutes some sort of Weight Wathcers or South Beach Diet lunch program at the school.)

6. SG (This team isn't overly impressive, BUT, they keep winning and winning......can't argue against that)

7. Rosemead (Their loss to SEM perplexes me, I just knew they would win that game.)

8. Alhambra (Injuries are apart of the game.....losing to Montebello HS isn't.)

9. La Salle ("It's deja vu all over again.")

10. Monrovia (They've scratched their way back to my top 10 and I'm confident that they will stay there. There is NO way that they lose to SM or TC, although I still think Blair wins the RHL and beats MHS in a tight game.)

so who did cantwell play this year that was worth mentioning?

Hey it's about time we start talking about the Bulldogs again. We truly are the game of the week, even though Blair is exciting as heck, and I'm only saying that cause my cousin is on the team. But PHS is back and ready to roll. Watch out world here we come.

So Pas check your stats on Max Preps for the last game. QB completing 46 passes in 16 attempts is probably backwards.

Go gettem HS!!!!

ATOMIC DAWWG

Game of the Week maybe.
But come on dog fans this will have nothing to do with the Pacific League title.
This game may help PHS just make the playoffs.
So odvious how many hs fans are so out of touch.
Although Muir will have there hands full in a few weeks against Arcadia.

I did this a bit last night on one of the other blogs.

Here is another method of camparison. MaxPreps.com's rankings of area teams relavant to all southern section teams.

1) Arcadia (114)
2) St. Francis (121)
3) Muir (142)
4) Rosemead (162)
5) Pasadena (168
6) Blair (177)
7) San Gabriel (182)
8) Duarte (210)
9) Alhambra (237)
10) San Marino (270)

Other teams of interest...Bosco Tech (274),Monrovia (300), Temple City (302), La Salle (303), La Canada (311), Gabrielino (336), Pasadena Poly (344), Arroyo (216) - good enough to be here - just out of area.

Interesting...What do you think?

BigA:

Um........are you sure about that? I mean this is obviously the game of the week, but isn't it a little premature to say this game will determine the league champs. When it is all said and done I'm sure the Stangs will have something to say about that.

Game of the week:

Pasadena vs. Arcadia

NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

This determines Pacific league title right here!
