I believe it was Hemingway who said " I am very well known to those that know me."
If you are looking for guys to post a photo of themselves, you are on the wrong site
Goldenarm backs off when anybody wants to know who he is????
What's that all about? Sounds like he's trying to hide something!!!
The exchanging of ideas and information is aided by taking a name. It is generally preferred to use a fictional name or nom de plume. Feel free to insult my choice of names.
My point was when a poster has a name, it allows those reading a clear direction in which to reply. The sheer # of Anons make it difficult to know where to aim a reply.
Hey Goldenarm,
I've seen people asking who you are...
Just because you have some qu33r name you post under doesn't mean you're not an Anon aswell!!!
Yeah..... Thanks............
The championship is at Moorpark Junior College.
BD is looking for revenge. I've been reading articles in the Santa Barbara area papers the last couple of weeks and Bishop players keep dropping comments about meeting up with Santa Clara again. That 41-42 loss really stuck in their mind and motivated their play the last few weeks. I saw the Oct. 26th game and both defenses were horrible. I swore off seeing Bishop games after that horrible loss and the 45 minute drive home. But of course that lasted about a week and they look like a completely new group of defenders. They're playing angry. Wood has single-handedly beat them twice (this year & '06), I don't think 3's a charm.
Site for BD/SC is still listed as TBD.
Wood is a junior, holey moley.
there are some honkin size linemen (6'4" 290)on the SC roster - this could spell trouble for BD's "D"line...who are skilled but not large.
Boasting about your prediction made under an Anon?? Galetti and burbanksports get bonus points (and automatic 1st down)for stating their names, win or lose.
If BD is not hurt. I like them in an upset. They play D like the dudes in "300", probably minus the washboard abs.
I can't see 42 points being put up against them again...taking nothing from Wood.
Their roster is not a storehouse of depth and this late in the season..that could impact. However, as well coached as they are, the BD staff probably already has a contigency plan for that as well.
Their only displayed vulnerability I saw..was their D could be driven, sealed, trapped and plain knocked down at times. If Wood has a large aggressive O-line in front of him, BD backers are gonna be busy all night.\

Hey Scott,
I said Bishop Diego would beat Paraclete and they Did...
I also said Bishop Diego would beat Santa Clara in a GREAT Championship game...
Only time will tell... I say Bishop Diego by 3, Not 7. Changed My Mind! Bishop Diego will be looking or Revenge! The only reason it will be so close is pretty obvious... The WOOD!!!!
Please Post where exactly the game will be held... Santa Barbara City College?
To All RHL Players/Coachs.... Thanks For The Great Ending This Season!!!
Scott-
After all these weeks I finally agree with you. Maybe I had better do some more research.
Anon 11:16: Not the first time I've been called crazy, but I disagree on this one.
To answer your question, Paraclete handed Brentwood, a solid team with plenty of size and a good quarterback, its only loss of the year and beat the team that knocked Blair out of the playoffs.
Don't let the close score against Monrovia fool you. Paraclete saw Monrovia at pretty much full strength. La Salle, for example, did not.
As far as your prediction about if Bishop Diego plays Santa Clara again, I'd pick Santa Clara.
It's tough to beat a team twice in a season, but Santa Clara beat Bishop Diego 42-41 in league.
And Wood had a mere 377 yards and six touchdowns.
If he is held to half of that, Santa Clara probably still wins.
Then again, I've been wrong before.
OR JUST OUTSCORE HIM!!!!
You're crazy Scott!
Bishop will beat Paraclete easy!
Who has Para. played?? No one worth talking about really.
BD was beating Santa Clara for most of there game until Sierre Wood took over! 42-41 Santa Clara
You guys are right about the big O-Line dominating this BD team!
I saw the TC game, and TC got down to the goalline twice, moving the ball pretty well then buckled like they had trouble with all year, but nonetheless moved it well on the way! Not against BDs second team either... They don't have a 2nd team, they only have 26 or 27 players!
I say BD by 14!
Then Bishop Diego by 7 over Santa Clara for the Mid-Valley Title!!!! BD will find a way to stop the Wood!
Goldenarm,
Sounds like our bracket of the semis will be a very physical contest.
NY
I don't recall them exiting over the chalk at all...neither was RB fast, in fact Williams Do chased one down with ease, coming from at least ten yards back....he stripped him at the goal line, but the ball squirted out of bounds, ruled out on the one.
I don't know much on Paraclete...but BD is highly unlikely to beat themselves or become jittery at crunch time..Defensive group does everything well...although not a pressuring style of D
Goldenarm,
Thanks. That is what I was referencing. Did the BD backs also stay in bounds to keep the clock rolling?
Bishop Diego has a big home field advantage at SBCC. BD by 14.
ny
in the TC/BD matchup
when a backer stepped in to plug a hole..on
at least 3 plays the BD running back with ball in hand CHOSE to drop low and take the backer head to head...in the manner normally seen as a blocking fullback's responsibility. Obviously the kid was contact hungry, and also very good. On one of those plays the safety filled and got blasted and overan...standing way too high and not expectating to be run AT.
NY - not sure what you meant...going back to the Williams question possibly?
I haven't heard anything from the ardent San Gabriel fans like SpartanAlum86 (La Habra plays dirty) or PurdueAlum05(La Habra is really in LA County!). Any comments about the game with La Habra?
Goldenarm,
Was that bit about BD's runningback's form for my benefit?
M-Cat,

stop that wishbone set and you'll stop Paraclete. they are a very beatable team and rely heavily on 3, maybe 4 players. it's easier said than done but i'm surprised that no one has beaten them yet.
Hey Scott,
thanks for responding...I have not seen Paraclete, but here is my take on BD -BD is not physically imposing, but their team "D" is a machine. Those shutouts they are posting are no flukes, they pursue and tackle exceptionally well and make few mistakes. If there is a weak spot on their D it is their line....an opponent with a big O-line could pound...backers and secondary are very aggressive and skilled.
One very interesting strategy was
their short kickoffs - high and rainbowing down around the 35...the kicks were basically a 50/50 recovery potential...as in onside kick kind of recovery, Escobedo actually signaled a fair catch on one...an intelligent move as defenders were poised to clean his clock.
Offensively
their QB has textbook throwing mechanics and finds the open man. Backs hit the hole hard with low pad level and good body lean.
This spectator would say their team is very good.
Golden: My pick would be Paraclete, but from what I was hearing from people at the Santa Clara-La Salle game is that Bishop Diego is a beast of a team.
Scott
got a pick between Bishop Diego or Paraclete?
