JV game is at your house, not TC.

I will there wearing my lucky Mojo shirt and clutching an ancient Black Cat Bone.

Not that it will do much good. Congratulations on a undefeated season to this point - and particularly for strong representation of the SGV in Monrovia's pre-league matchups.

Very happy with the Indians win because it adds meaning to the Battle of Burbank this week. And who would have thought that the CV vs Arcadia would be important?

Anonymous said:

Stang fan,

Burroughs... I bet burbanksports was happy. Arcadia held them to 16 points which was good enough for a win, but arcadia's offense could not get rolling. Burroughs drove the ball 98 yards to win the game and left arcadia with no time on the clock.

Arcadia has short term memory. They won't let the past two weeks carry over this week. No matter what... i am true! I support the kids and coaches all the way! Not like some other parents that come on.

Stang fan,
Your right, Bingo has been launching some nice deep passes all year. He plays within the game and what the defense gives him. I am most impressed with the muir coaches putting all the their talent in to works. I am also impressed when I saw muir coaches pulling kids and talking to them on sidelines when they started talking to the refs and other players. I hope they do well in CIF.

You do have a point. However, Bingo has thrown some really good deep balls and some will-timed mid range passess as well. It's not like ALL of his passes are hitches, screens, or bubbles. And what makes Bingo so dangerous is that you have to be aware of his own speed when he drops back to pass. That kid can SCOOT!!!

hsfbfan, what happened vs. Burroughs, I was utterly stunned at that score.

Anonymous said:

Ny,

The muir coaches are keeping it simple with "bingo" They don't try to do anything out of the ordinary. Lots of screens and hitches to his 4.4 40 guys who can make things happen in a blink of an eye.

20 TDS and ZERO INTs? What's the catch? This kid is having a better year than Tom Brady who has a 30:2 ratio!

New York said:

Stang Fan,
Fair enough. Arcadia is in major trouble. I mentioned a few weeks ago that they were vulnerable from a lack of playing good teams. Not there fault. At the beginning of the season it looked like they had a tough schedule.

As the top team, Muir will now bear more praise as well as criticism. Muir is really the only Pac team with a good shot in the playoffs due to the way they are playing as well as hopefully receiving a good seed. Arcadia is now virtually screwed with their seeding. They will likely play a tough team in the first round.

The Stang Fan said:

Quick question for ALL dog fans. Why do you claim that Muir does not have a passing game?

Have any of you checked the stats? Do any of you read the papers? B-I-N-G-O is the MAN. He just threw for another 200 yards this past weekend and if you noticed he also threw three more TD's. Oh....and did I mention......he has thrown exactly ZERO INTERCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!! Just in case you missed it......ZERO INTERCEPTIONS. Are you kidding me? He has passed for more than 20 TD's with NO PICKS!!! And if I'm not mistaken he has thrown his TD's to 6 or 7 different recievers, not just 2-3 guys. But hey we have no passing game. Cool. Keep thinking that, that's actually better.....so when he drops passes against your team you can just say, "Damn, I didn't know he could pass too."

And let's not forget, he will finish the season with 1500 yards passing an 1000 yards rushing. I'll take that ANY day!!!

The Stang Fan said:

NY:

Bro, your comments definitely came off as being strongly critical of Muir. Without the explanation that you gave in your later post, how could one have read into what you were REALLY trying to say. If you were in fact responding to what you thought were players on the blog than I can see why you brought up the idea of being humble, and I would hope that the players aren't (a) blogging and (b) not taking their competition lightly.

As far as being defensive, I just thought that it was odd that the first thing that you posted in regards to the Arcadia/JBHS game was about Muir. What about Arcadia's new problems? What about the fact that Burroughs played on Monday and still won? What about the insane playoff implications that have now arisen? There were many intriguing issues within that game alone that could have been discussed and explored before the implications of Muir's seeding were ever brought up. That, coupled with the humple pie comment, just seemed a bit much especially without the explanation.

With that said I do appreciate the fact that you would support us in the playoffs, as I will do when MHS enters the playoffs. Good luck vs. TC. BTW, green is certainly gold in the RHL this year with Blair, MHS, and TC as the representatives.

Flintridge Prep's line was a tad bigger, but both lines did a solid job.
Both schools put on a good show.

I'll serve both you clowns since your probably the same person anyway. I brought up the 20-0 against OC because you said we had NO comeback power. But guess what... that was the only game we were down at half. So who cares about comeback power(come dude are you searious). As far as stopping the run what happend against Arcadia 49 points, 250+ yards rushing. You have no rush defense
If you really graduated in 04 you cant say nothing to me because we put up 50 in that tussle(a turkey tussle record) As a matter of fact if you wanna post this week and your talking about the tussle, you got to put your tussle record at the end of your post.

4-0

Go DOG!! WIN,WIN!!

hey scott
I know that flintridge prep did not play thier best game vs rio hondo. I am not taking anything away from rio hondo and their great performance. Are u impressed with flintridge prep's running game and offensive line? THe fumble in the begging the third and fourth killed them cause one gave the kares a 24-7 lead and the other stopped a comeback that was going to happen for sure.

do you know what your talking about? we outscore OC 20-0 in the second half(with their starters in the game). No Passing game.. are you searious we are well over 1000 coming into the last game, we have balance. If you had to dig way back to the oaks christian game to find a flaw, it makes your argument look silly. Turnovers, I believe you had 5 or six last game. I'm still waiting for a game were you hs fans say are db's played so poorly, to give your guys an advantage. It's hard to pass against a good pass rush. How do you feel your db's stack up against us. Reyes I can tell you don't know football, Infact i can tell you never played.. or maybe you played for PHS in the last ten years and that's why you talk like you dont know a lick of football. I usually wouldnt even respond to a clown like you but it's tussle week and I'm fired up! GO STANGS

Have DOGS Run Defense stop any back in PL.
Answer is NO!!!
How can Dogs Run Defense stop Youngblood!!!
What is Mill game plan to stop Youngblood!!
Do any Dogs out there got a answer???

reyes said:

Game Plan is simple!!
Dogs run defense vs Mustang running game.
number two, Dogs passing offense vs Mustang passing defense and number three, turnover!!Edge in running game go to Mustang, but the edge in passing game go Dogs. So game will come down to turnover. If Dogs don't make any turnover and Dogs D-Line can stop Youngblood.Because everyone know Mustang don't have a passing game.If Dogs jump to early lead and Mustang are not a good come from behind team.!! See Oak Christan film game.No comeback power whatsoever!!! My perdiction, Dogs by 3 point!!

I love seeing Blair winning like this. Obviously I wish my team were stronger this year, but if Blair is able to sustain this level of play it will only strengthen the rest of our league.

stang 04 said:

You might be right because I think Arcadia can fall to CV also. I think they will have trouble stopping their option attack. But CV is so one dimensional if you can adjust to the option they have nothing else. That big reciever (44) only serves as a decoy because they are not looking to pass at all. They threw a total of 3 times against muir and one was picked off.
If we keep winning big I dont think it can hurt us too much, and we will win BIG on thursday

the real hsfbfan,

good picks this week. Not the toughest week to fortell..but you nailed it as far as scoring

New York said:

Stang Fan,

I would love to see you guys win it all. I always want local teams to go all the way. It speaks to the quality of football in the valley. It's embarrassing when we all get bounced early. I had a feeling that the abundance of new Muir bloggers may include some current players. Hence, the advice to be humble and remember what has gotten them to this point.

Dont be so defensive. It's not characteristic of you. And actually, the Arcadia loss is Muir's problem. Pasadena now has a shot at a championship if they beat Muir. Secondly, Muir now has an incrementally weaker and less impressive collection of victories. That may hurt your seedings in the playoffs.

The Stang Fan said:

NY:

It's quite interesting how you turn the Arcaidia/Burroughs game into a Muir issue. Matter of fact, you also recently said something on another thread about "humble pie." Humble pie? Sorry, bro, from what I understand Monrovia fans have already eaten ALL of the servings.

The vast majority of Muir fans, yours included, have been on the blog talking about how we are going to beat PHS. No one has said ANYTHING about us being "world-beaters." Actually, I have mentioned numerous times that we have an extremely weak schedule and we haven't beat any team that's worth mentioning. Are we a good team though? You damn right!

Your comments reek of a little haterism bro, but I guess if my team lost to Blair and La Salle in the same season I'd be mad too. Don't trip though, playoffs are coming soon, and that's when we'll see if this Muir team is REALLY a good team. My guess is that we'll do well, but you never know. Something tells me you'd like to see us lose early in the playoffs.

It's been a while since I've chimed in.
I think the RHL has a great history. I heard stories from my old high school teachers about how it was a battle to win league every year but our league was so tough that CIF Championships were a given once league was won.

As far as this year goes, I would like to see Blair take it all. They have been at the bottom of the barrel for a while so it's nice to see that program turn around.

I don't think South Pas has enough speed and depth to keep up with Blair. I got to see them against Monrovia and SP's offense has no gamebreakers. If Blair keeps on pounding the ball the lack of depth on South Pas' D will tire and eventually wear down.

San Marino this is your chance to shut critics up. I think this one will be close with Monrovia pulling it out.

TC over La Canada. With Do running the way he is I don't this is going to be too close.
