Thank you for a great post

Thank you for a great post

Hi there, cheers for this excellent post, a really great start for the 2010, keep up the excellent work, Cheryl.

Burbank and CV are not part of our area coverage.

What area does this ranking cover? If it covers the burbank and CV area, then they should be added to this list. They are better than the bottom feeders there now.

Scott,
Flintridge Prep, St Francis and Marshall? I rest my case on your rankings.
Be logical next time if two teams beat the same team the teams that won should be ranked higher than the team that lost 99.9% of the time. Your ranking of Marshall ahead of St Francis and Prep must have been a friendship ranking.

True, Muir and Arcadia are not strong teams this season and likely to be fighting it out for 8th place.

But I don't think the league is "garbage" after Pasadena and "average" with Pasadena. Yes, it's not nearly as strong as the league was in the 70's, 80's or 90's, but I think the teams that go to the playoffs from the league will be good.

Burroughs was in the game with PHS and showed some toughness, CV, Burbank and Hoover are competitive... we'll see who gets in at the end and how they do.

But, yes, you are right, Muir and Arcadia, not a chance.

Hal-Please tell me who out of the Pacific league besides Pasadena will represent our area well in the playoffs. Arcadia? Muir? Both really bad.

Hal Lamaster said:

If you take the best team out of any league it will weaken the league.
Year in and year out the Pacific League is a solid basketball league... and that goes back 30 years.

No league team is going to beat PHS but by season's end the playoff teams that rise from the Pacific will represent the area well.

RealBBall said:

Pride- The Pacific league is average at best. Take Pasadena out and it is garbage.

pride said:

haha weak...pacific league would murder 3/4 of this list

I hear you Goldenarm. And I respect Anon's opinion. I've found that league to be quite passionate when it comes to rankings.

The Marshall coach is a used car salesman. He did it at Blair now Marshall, he play bad teams to get to CIF then losses in the first or second round.

may your skull and patience remain intact without permanent damage from another anon onslaught regarding rankings. You made it through fball rankings, looks like the roundballers are circlimg your carcass now.

On the positive side,
many opinions do a good blog make.

Come on Scott what type of logic is that. Prep beat both teams head up and have a better record than both schools. The rankings should be, 7. Prep,
8. St Francis, 9. Blair, 10. Marshall. Do your homework Marshall's can't beat a team over .500. not

ScottG said:

Flintridge Prep has what I would consider a bad loss (65-56) against a 4-8 team.
Yes, Flintridge Prep beat Marshall in the opener by four and St. Francis by two, but I guess I needed to see more from them. South Pas. is down this year (2-10) and Prep beat them by one. Marshall's other losses came to Poly, St. Francis and a very good South Hills team. St. Francis's other loss was to Maranatha.
Let's face it, this is basketball, the rankings will be changing weekly. If the Rebels keep it going, they'll move up quickly.

Scott;

max does make a good point. Maybe you can explain why prep is ranked 9th and not higher. Thanks.

hey scott
Dont you think prep should be in front of St. Francis and Marshall.? They did beat both of those teams already this year, and had a great win against a solid south pasadena team.

max said:

are you looking and game rsults before compiling these rankings. your number nine school flint. prep, has already defeated the two schools directly in front of them in your standings, marshall and st. francis. if you are not going to do your homework, don't bother with these rankings.
