And I know Golper was Co-Defensive Player of the year. But his performance on BOTH sides of the ball warranted recognition . He was Arcadia's leading Receiver by far and even won a game for them in the last seconds on a catch and long run afterwards. I think it was their game against Burbank. Ikner's numbers have been posted somewhere here and they speak for themself

I am not saying PHS players got robbed. I am saying Ikner and Golper should have made 1st or 2d team on offense rather than Rambeau or De Flora. If politics dictate some players as juniors get something so as to not feel left out ok, then you can't justify Rambeau on offense over Ikner or Golper since Rambeau was 2d team Secondary. He clearly was not better than Golper and not even close to Ikner on offense . If Willie and Patton got left off All -Area, that is not right. Willie for sure has been a mainstay at Muir and should not have been left off.

For those of you that think players from PHS got robbed on the All-Pacific list wait... The "unbiased" news editors haven't shown you their SGV All-Area picks. According to them Muir had absolutely NO players on their team. Surprising since Muir was the only team to go 7-0. They overlook everything that Muir did during the season. How can a team that went undefeated not get any of their defense mentioned. Who's worse news editors or the BCS? Yes, Muir had a lot of players on the All-Pacific teams but when the Star News puts out it's list, . I'm not talking about the All-Pacific list, that was screwed up because the coaches from several schools will NEVER give Muir votes. So instead of asking the Muir head coach about why his players didn't get selected maybe you should go to the other school and ask them why they refuse to vote for Muir players.

Ikner should have made first team wr over the guy from CV. As far as Dunlap and Fernando, they are good players, but not the best at their positions. They will have their chances next year.

Pacific leagues needs out of the central and stay in the midvalley or a SGV CIF.

Im guessing that Muir's head coach did not push for them. The name Dunlap sticks out. Is he #20? If he is he is a good safety and very fast. Good speed and instincts.

I am not clear as to why they didn't get picked but that is the question you should be asking the head coach at Muir High School.

Burbank Sports, I may be new in terms of the Star-News, but I covered the Foothill League for five seasons, so I've seen my fair share of prep football.

What about the two juniors down at Muir why they didn't even get honorable mention
Fernando Aguilar had one of the best seasons I ever seen.
As well as Chris Dunlap these two kids did what they had to do game in and game out there is no way these two should have not made the list. Both of these players had better season than their teammates Paul Devone and Darrel Hanna. And they made secound team I just don't know please someone tell me how these two kids didn't make 2nd or honorable mention.

Its sad that arcadia doesn't have the kids to play football because they have a hellva of coaching staff and off-season work out program. I know the arcadia indians did well this year, but the majority of the players are from the monrovia area.

In response to many of your questions and statements.

Regarding #51 and Donnie Fields. Fields had a major impact on the field playing both ways at offensive tackle and defensive end.

Regarding the defensive player of the year and linemen of the year. It is odd that the #1 team wouldn't have a linemen as (linemen of the year) but if you watch #65 for Burroughs, that kid is as nasty as they come. Probably 6'3 300 pounds who plays nasty. He put Golper on his ass once or twice.

Regarding the Defensive player of the year - Budrick should not be sharing it with Golper. Golper had 9 more sacks than Budrick and had two ints' for touchdowns. The tackle difference was less than 8 I believe.

Both Ikner and Golper should not have been left out on 1st team offense. But after seeing it for the last several years, I've noticed that the selections seem to be a bit political. One coach will push for one player but have to give up another.

Arcadia will do fine next year with the limited amount of kids they have playing. They had a good group this year and thats just the way it goes. Tough for them is that the only kids I see having any impact next year are obviously Golper and then Rambeau. Other than those two, I don't see anyone else making much of an impact. (From what I know and off the top of my head)

Hoover was the bottom of the Pacific league. 0-10 does not give way to all league players.

I hope that helps clear up some questions.

Arcadia is not going to be good next year. The don't have a QB or RB and lost most of their line. No affordable houses, no transfers. Troubling... Fielding a team of 35 is crazy for a school size of 3700.

The Burbank schools increased the PL from six to eight. But how does Ikner not make anything at all on offense but DeFlora makes 2d Team Receiver. I thought Ikner was great. Whoever questioned whether someone can make it both ways, the answer is an obvious yes because Walker made 1st Team QB and 2d team Secondary and Rambow made 2d Team Receiver and 2d Team Secondary. I wonder if the Rio Hondo League has people asking these questions on their picks.

Folks, the all league as we know it were built for a 5 team selection and not a 7 team selection. I know it will be fixed next year and players such as “Ikner” would be selected to both first team offence and defense. I have to say, “Pasadena offensives line should have had at least one player on first team or second, because the sack’s came from ‘T’ Crock scrambling trying to make a play.” It’s all good! Time for the next faze! The impossible will be possible!

That exact thing happened about 4-5 years ago with Burbank High in the Foothill League.

How in the world didn't any hoover player make it there something wrong with that?
Hoover had #70 and 56 they are great players should had made at least honorable mention

There something very wrong here how doesn't Todd get something for O. Better yet how does Ikner from Pasadena who was 2nd in league make 1st team/2nd team that makes no sense to me there something wrong. Then on the D side you have the 2 Juniors from Muir Fernando Aguilar and Chris Dunlap how in the world didn't these kids make first team/ 2nd team or at least honorable mention there's something wrong. I just don't think this years selection were right.

it looks players can only make all league at one position in these two league so stop freaking out the guys are on first team either way

Vinnie did not have "way better" stats than Donnie:68 tackles to 64, 6 sacks to 4, 0 pass def to 2, 4 hurries to 2, 0 INT's to 1. Vinnie had numbers to warrant Hon Mention w/out a doubt . Maybe Big A knows what is up, but I think Donnie had more impact for the team

The biggest problem with these all-league teams is how they are chosen and the fact that coaches are involved.
I think all-area teams chosen by newspaper editors, etc... are less biased and more accurate.
Since Scott is kind of new, I'll use Fred as an example. Would you rather have Fred chosing "all-stars" or would you rather have coaches with their own agendas?
In terms of the Pacific League- Budrick should not have a share of Golper's award. Shouldn't the offensive lineman of the year come from a team that had the #1 offense in league?

This business with Golper and Ikner is really messed up. A simple review of their respective stats compared to those who made the 1st and 2nd teams shows that Ikner should have been 1st team offense (#2 receiver in the league??!??!?!) and Golper easily should have been 2nd team offense. Does anyone know of any rule that prohibits a player from being 1st and/or 2nd team on both sides of the ball? If so, how did Rambeau make 2nd team on both? Something is really messed up!!!

There are some really weird things with this Pacific League list. How in the world does Arness Ikner not make 1st or 2d Team Receiver?
He had 55 receptions for 1066 yards and 12 TD's . How does Todd Golper with 30 receptions ,528 yards and 6 TD's get nothing on offense ? And yet De Flora of Pasadena with 10 receptions, 183 yards ,4TD's and Rambeau of Arcadia with 23 receptions, 226 yards and 1 TD each make 2d Team Receiver over Ikness and Golper. THAT IS SHAMEFUL. I hope the All-Area Team makes more sense.

How in the world doesn't the 2 juniors for Muir make 2nd team or at least honorable mention. Chris Dunlap and Fernando Aguilar had to of the better seasons I hae seen. These 2 should be on this list. They were 2 juniors starting game in and game out doin there thing. I watch the Turkey Tussel Chris had him about 120 all purpose and 6 to 7 tackles. Fernando had him 7 to 8 tackles and a Sack. There is no way these 2 kids should have not made 2nd or at least honorable mention. Give me an answer someone why they didn't.

Congrats to the Arcadia players and the rest of the Pacific League. I had fun watching all of you.

I probably would've switched Walker and Thomas. Other than that I think its a pretty good list. I don't know all the kids names because I just look at #'s but if they are who I hope they are then that is a great selection.

K Walk should have gotten something, but remember he had a few games where he didnt play much on defense and then one game he was out altogether because of injury.. I think Golper being Defensive Player of the Year is why he is not listed 1st team Linebacker. Players of the Year do not have a separate listing on 1st team.

how is ruben thomas all purpose?!?!?! he played qb and some safety. my boy k walk got robbed he was the true all purpose player of the year what other player played 5+ positions this year? he was by far the best CB in the area and didnt even make 1st team D. along with todd golper he was the defensive player of the year and didnt make 1st team LB??? this is the worst all league I have ever seen
