Love the blog here. Nice colors. I am definitely staying tuned to this one. Hope to see more.
I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I'm very very impressed.
thanks for the tips!
I just couldnt leave your website before saying that I really enjoyed the quality information you offer to your visitors... Will be back often to check up on new stuff you post!
Those darn Alpha Prep coaches.....get on them Scott!!!!!
I have yet to receive a full Alpha League list.
What's up Scott, no love for the Alpha All League Players?
Congrats to you Trevor. Have fun in basketball.
P Finchamp, You are exactly correct in what you say about Trevor. He certainly had great stats and came strong not just in big games but it looks like he did it all year long. I am not sure what you mean about being a marked man but if that means that teams had to try to account for him heavily in their game plans I would agree with you whole heartedly. But from what I have heard and saw he certainly had a great supporting cast as well. An MVP is most always indebted to the great team around them. Just my two cents.
Big guy--
Blog fodder is just between about 50 to 60 people interested in a specific topic. Stats are stats, as is coming strong to the big game and answering the call when you are already a marked man.
Big Guy,
The league MVP is voted on by the coaches of the league. Not by bloggers.
Does driving the school bus factor into a decision? Usually league MVP goes to the star of the championship team as well.
P Finchamp. You raise some interesting points. I do believe I saw Ross return punts and kicks as well. As I am a new spectator to this level of football, is it a prerequisit to play both sides of the ball to be an MVP candidate? Are the other area league MVPs two way players as well? It seems to me that most MVPs play one or the other side of the ball but do they have to play both? I bring up the question not because I think your son does not deserve the honor but I wonder if Ross had gotten half as much of the discussion time your son did on this blog would that have given him a higher profile for consideration for the honor as well? In this day and age in where how much buzz that is created for someone or something some how traslates into its popularity or relevance, does it play into the whole equation of deciding anything from a President to a league MVP? Again just my observations and my two cents.I welcome your thoughts as well.
Big guy--
Since you have repeated this post more than once my only question is how many times you saw the Finchamp kid play. He also played D, kicked and returned kick offs. I don't remember Ross being that involved in the rest of the game. MVP would most certainly take all of that into play. I was impressed by Ross as a running back for sure.
does anyone know which year these guys are in? soph, jr. sr?
thanks
With all due respect to the Finchamp kid at Rio Hondo, the toughest back I saw all season long was the kid from Flintridge Prep Adam Ross. He got more yards after contact than anyone else in the Prep League. Had he been the feature back in an offense and a senior we certainly could have a lively debate on the Prep MVP. Just my two cents.
P Finchamp:
Congratulations to Trevor being named Prep League's Most Valuable Player. What a way to finish up your high school football career. I sure you’re a very proud Dad. Best wishes to him with his college play.
Small school fan:
Poly is here in the All Prep league. Maranatha will be in the All Alpha league when that comes out. Scott any idea when All Alpha league will be announced?
"Above: Rio Hondo Prep's Trevor Finchamp was named the Rio Hondo League's MVP."

Scott
when does the list come out that will include Maranatha players, Poly, and so on come out?
