BOYS SOCCER: Pasadena takes a fall in the mud
Bulldogs lose first game of the season

My first thought on this game is that I actually had a blast standing out in the rain on the soggy grass.
As far as the match goes, I've been at some soccer matches where the team that seemed destined to win didn't.
I can't remember being at a game (soccer match) where one team thoroughly dominated and didn't win.
Weather was a factor with a defender slipping in the first half to set up Crescenta Valley's first goal.
Even with the terrible field conditions and the rain intensifying in the second half, Pasadena had an enormous amount of quality scoring chances, but Crescenta Valley's goalkeeper had an outstanding match.
Something I don't get is why do some leagues play games during Christmas break, while others wait until school resumes.
Pasadena was without four of its players against CV, but the match counts in the league standings.

PASADENA - The conditions were perfect for Friday's Pacific League boys soccer match between Pasadena and Crescenta Valley high schools.
Perfect, that is, for ducks or other species that like to swim in puddles of water.
The Falcons used the steady rain and sloppy field conditions as the great equalizer in a surprising 2-0 victory over the previously-unbeaten Bulldogs.
David Orozco scored in the 11th minute of the contest, and Tade Marzain put the game away with a goal in the closing minutes as Crescenta Valley (1-8-1, 1-2-0) collected its first win of the season.
"We were very determined to win this game, and it's important because it's the first win for us," Crescenta Valley coach Tino Morfin said.
Pasadena dominated in about every aspect of the match on a field that Pasadena coach Cherif Zein likened to black ice.
"It was very slippery and got worse and worse, and there was no footing at the end," Zein said. "When the field is slippery like that, it's like driving on black ice."
Pasadena's drive took a turn for the worse, despite the Bulldogs outshooting Crescenta Valley 29-8.
"We had a lot of chances last game, but we were missing some players," Crescenta Valley coach Tino Morfin said of his team's 5-1 loss against Agoura at the Lancaster tournament a week ago. "We had the perfect lineup we were looking for today, including our goalkeeper, and we put together all the pieces."
The Bulldogs (7-1-1, 2-1-0) may have torn the Falcons to pieces had it not been for a man named Bond, Michael Bond.
The junior goalkeeper was the busiest player on the field, collecting 19 saves, including 13 in the second half, when Pasadena dominated much of the action.
"We had some great chances, but their keeper played very well," Zein said. "Crescenta Valley played with more desire, and you have to give them a lot of credit because they hadn't won a game."
Bond made one electrifying save after another, but his biggest came when it counted the most, late in the match.
The Bulldogs had a free kick near the corner and Mike Aguirre put a perfect cross in the direction of Luis Cendejas.
Cendejas headed the ball for what appeared to be the equalizer, but Bond made an outstanding save to preserve the shutout.
Moments later, Marzain got behind the Pasadena defense and put a shot over Bulldogs goalie David Flores to put the game out of reach.
The Bulldogs defense had trouble negotiating the wet grounds early.
Orozco got past a fallen defender before putting a shot past Flores, who had come out of the net to attempt a steal, to give Crescenta Valley a 1-0 lead.
Pasadena was without four key players - Tony and Kevin Ramirez, Dennis Flores and Giovani Silva.
"Christmas break is the worst break because many of our players go to Mexico for a month," Zein said. "It changes the rhythm of your preparation."
Pasadena will attempt to get back on track next week with matches against Burbank, Glendale and Muir.
"We will regroup next week and see what we can do," Zein said.

hmm.. Very thorough post. I have found myself directed here before from aol search and undoubtedly will find myself here again. I just thought I'd take a minute out of my day to express. As a website owner myself I know that is is nice to get some feedback on your works sometimes. Anyway, I'm sure I'll end
I would like to start my own blog one day. This was a really nice blog that you made here. Keep up the success :P
People consume hours and hours reading about how to write and revise a resume, but most of them do not make use of that knowledge in the proper way, not even when they have an explicit example in front of them.
Imagine you're at a seminar or a party and a stranger comes over to talk. At some point you'll swap life stories and they'll ask you what you do. This conversational answer is the basis of your profile statement.
I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I'm very very impressed.
This is actually the 2nd moment I have come across your website in the last couple weeks. Looks like I ought to take a note of it.
I like this blog, clean design! is it a template?
in that case,no one can talk because no one is undefeated. so lets all do less talking and more playing.
this is true. phs cannot talk anymore. Even if they did not have 4 player. this was cv's first win and they shutout phs with 2 goals. and phs still has not play a worthy foe
phs can officially stop talking about how they are the best in pasadena. it doesent matter if the field was in terrible conditions, anyhow, the game was at phs's home field so if anything it should have been an advantage to them. but now because of this win, i think pasadena will wake up and take care of the other opposition.
