Regarding the RH league and LC, either LC is having a down year or the rest of the league is catching up. I'm thinking the first option and the league is weak this year. LC struggles, but hasn't the "nut case" coach of the LC girl's team won the league almost every year in the last 5-7 years?

Rankings help beacuse they show where our own individual schools are ranked in comparison to other schools in the Area. The season is too short for all the teams to play everyone.

Hopefully we'll see some RHL teams in the next rankings.

Why is everyone concerned about rankings? Just play the game. If you are better you will win.It will all come out in the wash. Win enough league games to make the playoffs; go to CIF and continue to win and you get to the ranking you deserve. Simple enough? Prove how good you are on the court, not on paper.

"I just report the results"...was what I meant when I suggested you get a disclaimer...by the way, what does the 84 stand for?
Hopefully it has nothing to do with head count when installing a lightbulb.

Maybe the perception is that the league is down as a whole? I don't have the answer, but it's sure strange.

By the way, the coaches vote on the rankings and awards. I just report the results.

RHL lost a lot of STAR players (especially LC). They are much weaker than before.

Maybe you should provide a link to LALA land, Foundation 84, or whatever the former CIF braintrust is called nowadays...let some of your bloggers vent directly to the source.

I know some people don't like change, whether beneficial or not, but it seems disillusion this time is off the chart. Likely any CIF feedback link would have crashed by now anyway. Maybe a Galetti disclaimer (including DNA profile) which assures us you are NOT a sitting member of any CIF voting panel...uhhh..I mean advisory committee.

In the last few years, RH league has at least 3 teams (e.g. LC, Monrovia and San Marino) ranked in top 16 by CIF. How come there is none this year ?

Juno said:

Has anyone seen the nut case Head Coach for La Canada Girls Basketball? She was so unhappy after her teams loss to Temple City she went to the scorers table and ripped up the ref's pay checks if front of her team.

This lady is a complete nut case and can't be good for the players on her team. I also hear she is the A.D. over there now.

Wow. Good luck.

How do you explain putting Alhambra back into the top 10 when they haven't won, and you took them off the last rankings? I really don't understand your thinking now.

Viking Fan said:

Ok, I kind of get that. But we beat Keppel and they're ranked. Oh, well. Our girls are having a great season and the CIF rankings don't take anything away from that fact.

In The Know said:

The rankings are done by SCIBCA (Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Assosiation). And in my honest opinion the reason why none of the Rio Hondo league teams are not ranked is because that division just has to many good teams. And only 16 can get into the polls. Remember you don't just get ranked for winning, you get ranked for who you beat or who you lost to.

Viking Fan said:

Do you know how they do the rankings?

ScottG said:

I was a bit surprised that nobody from the RHL was ranked.

Viking Fan said:

Never mind. I found it. I don't see how Blair isn't ranked anywhere.

Viking Fan said:

Where are these listed? I found the boys listing on the CIF website, but I can't find the girls.
