monrovia isnt making the playoffs losing to sp again
Then the original post on 1/27 should have stated "West San Gabriel Valley instead of the city of La Canada Flintridge".
anonymous 1:28...did St. Francis recently add a girl's team?
The postings about La Canada soccer is some what erroneous..Most of the players at Prep, St Francis and FSHA do not live in that city. They attend private school their..... most of the boys on the St Frasncis team live in Pasadena and play club soccer for LACF or other clubs in the area!
I agree with most of the comments about La Canada area soccer this year that have been posted. With regard to Flintridge Prep,it is true that their schedule has been tough; however, their only two wins in Prep League have been against a weak Webb team. Westridge, which wasn't expected to go anywhere this year, may pass them and clinch a CIF playoff birth. Maranantha is another team on a phenomenal roll this year. All of it is very exciting to follow....
anonymous 11:30AM...you can't be serious.
How can what I wrote evoke such anger? Let's examine it:
“anonymous 5:00...any program is only as good as the current year's talent. While LC is losing a lot to graduation FSHA and Prep appear to be deep in junior and younger talent.”
I don’t really see what my offense was. Did you need a reason to tell us how “great” Frank pace is? That’s fine but does it need to be prefaced with anger against someone else with an opinion?
FP is like any other coach - it's you either like him or you don't - you get him or you don't - and you choose to play for him or you don't. Some kids can handle it - others can't.
I do know that the soccer boards tend to be much more civilized than shall we say the football boards :)
Yes - anon 3:06 p.m. - everyone is entitled to their opinion. My "claws" remark was not directed to you specifically - it was more a general observation of how I have viewed these posts over the last 5 years ...
Who said Franck Pace was a great coach...He has a great program and exposes his team... But he is a yeller and he also hurts the girls feelings...Some cannot take his style of coaching!
angelbec: No claws here.
It is very annoying to watch someone snype at others. Especially when it is evident that the someone doing the snyping is not as informed as he makes himself out to be.
Everybody has a right to express their opinion, including JohnM. But hey, enough is enough.
anytime you try and talk about girls high school soccer the claws come out. That has been evidanced year in and year out over and over again.
Whoa, Anon 11:30. Did someone hit a nerve?
JohnM: Where have you been the last 5-8 Years? Frank Pace has kept his teams at the top no matter how much talent he has lost to graduation. Yes, it is true FSHA has excellent talent year in and year out, but have you ever stop to consider that talented players like to play for great coaches?
It is quite evident to me that your knowledge of soccer is limited and probably comes from whatever you are reading in the Pasdadena Star News. NEWS FLASH, if you speak to the Parents of these talented players or the player themself, they would probably tell you that the they are sending their daughters to High School to receive a great education and not to become a soccer star!!! That is what CLUB SOCCER is for. If you are such a great soccer buff why don't you tell us something about the Club Teams that our local girls are playing on and how it affects high school soccer. Don't resort to a transparent explanation such as the talent is graduating to explain why a high school team is not doing so well. My grandmother(who doesn't have the slightest interest in high school soccer) has enough common sense to use graduation as a reason why a high school program is not as good as they were last year. So while you standing on your soap box trying to explain the finer nuances of High School Soccer from your fish bowl to the rest of us, I hope you realize that it is evident that you do not have a clue. My hope is that in the future you will think twice about your quick reaction to respond to someone elses opinion and try to shoot it down, because he or she is probably just as knowledable as you are and just enjoy expressing their opinion.
A good example of how things ebb and flow is that La Salle won CIF last year - this year they are rebuilding .. it comes and goes as the years go by - but it definately makes it exciting...
anonymous 5:00...any program is only as good as the current year's talent. While LC is losing a lot to graduation FSHA and Prep appear to be deep in junior and younger talent.
Enjoy it while it lasts 'mecca'. A lot of your talent is graduating this year...
It appears that the city of La Canada Flintridge is the mecca of high school soccer in the area this year.
Sacred Heart (D1) is making a solid run at the playoff, La Canada is ranked fifth in D4 and breezing through the RHL. Flintridge Prep (D3) has played a difficult schedule but finds itself in position to make a playoff run.
Anonymous has too much time on his hands....
Anon and Pop need to respond with some sort of soccer info...You both need to get a life !
...or at least get some basic grammar lessons.
Get a life.
That was some grudge match against Lasalle and South Pasadena since, last year Lasalle beat them in a CIF match..
