Your blog is amazing. Would you tell me what system are you using?
La Canada is very talented. GREAT hitters, but they play no small ball what so ever. and there pitching and defense needs work, they are heavily reliant on the long ball, and that's probably why they haven't been winning as much games as they should be.
What's up with La Canada? They have a very talented squad again this year with Smith, Oecshel, and numerous juniors and a few seniors in Murphy and Schaetzle who are stable so why aren't these guys doing better? This will be an interesting week to see if they can beat San Marino and South Pas and then take off for Easter to come back against Temple City and Monrovia. Anyone seen them play this year?
MHS Supporter --
Dylan Covey will receive his due accolades...just be patient. Looks like he pitched a no-hitter last night vs. Marshall.
Scott....you're doing a fine job. I've been a Star News subcriber for years and since you've come onto the scene, our prep coverage is second to none! Thanks very much!
Yeah, MHS, I didn't work on the Athletes of the Week or Honor Roll this week and missed it. Sorry about that.
TC 7 SP 5
Mon 7 LC 1
SM 10 Blair 4
Ok, La Salle is now officially 6-2 and 1-1. They beat St. Monica Wednesday 7-0.
MHS Supporter,
My hat is off to you my friend. Your relentless support of Maranatha athletics is unparallelled.
Can't believe Paramount ain't listed in CIF. The D3 Pirates have knocked off Mission Viejo and Capistrano Valley, and played Mater Dei (D1's 5th) to a 0-2 loss.
Hey Scott,
I don't know if you missed seeing about the game on Friday or not between Maranatha and Winward at Winward but....
If you don't think MHS Deserves to be in the Top 10 right now thats fine but you severely overlooked our star pitcher Dylan Covey.
He should have been at the very least..honorable mention for his perfomance on Friday. Based on the 2 other pitchers you mentioned in the paper today and when comparing the competition of all three opponents, I think that a 1 hit shutout with 15 strikeouts, on the road against his toughest division rival deserves to be player of the week. What else does he need to do????
I think you do a great job Scott but you must admit...that was a tremendous oversight on your part.
No one ranked from the Pacific League in either poll. That use to be the strongest league in the San Gabriel Valley.
I can see where you're coming from Anon, but San Marino isn't undefeated and hasn't lost. I had to call it something.
Duarte, technically, is part of the Tribune's coverage area and would be in their rankings.
how is gaberlino ahead of duarte when duarte beat them pretty bad? and is 5-2? not 3-4?
How is Bishop Amat D-V??
La Salle is 5-2 and plays their second Del Rey League game on Wednesday afternoon. Does the crystal ball say La Salle wins?
how come Monrovia is not in BOLD print in the ranking??
The SM blemish was the result of the umps calling the game to rain
haha scott your comment for SM is weak. Got anything better to say?
One bad game where Temple City did everything they could to lose that game vs. South Pasadena does not mean anything. They play them again tomorrow. I have a feeling it will be a lot different.
How good can Temple City be if they lost to South Pas?
Los Alamitvos
The Division V rankings are the exact same as the pre-season ones since Division V did not report...so let's hold judgement on those until an updated ranking comes out.
