sphs beat tc in 4

south pas beat sm in 3

La Canada defeated Gabrielino today.

The RHL will be a lot of fun to watch this year. La Canada will provide mcuh better competition than last season, as they have good offense including one senior (opposite hitter) who is being courted by a few colleges.

SMVB said:

honestly, I believe the RHL title is up for grabs this year more than any other. Two years ago, Gaudino stole the show, and last year, South Pas was stacked more than anybody else. This year, with South Pas without David Allen, and with Tommy Tsoi on the rise for Gab, as well as TC's towering middles, and SM's balanced play, league will definitely be up for grabs.

I'll be seeing Gabrielino next week, but TC is not overrated.

Anonymous said:

and gabrielino isn't overrated..

Anonymous said:

why do people keep on saying that south pas is gonna win league? uh no..think again..

Anonymous said:

It's funny how that guy said La Salle spanked SM. SM was missing 2 starters that game. Then yet again, South Pas had their FULL lineup against CV, and still lost. Guess what, SM spanked CV in 3.

Anonymous said:

tc and gabrielino: overrated.

Anonymous said:

enough said so. pas will win league... tc n sm will battle for 2nd...la salle spanked sm and la salle ranks lower than so pas in cif poll enough said see you in playoff if your school makes it...so pas will be there for sure and so is la salle

Anonymous said:

south pas are gunna wish their season is over once they face the other teams in the RHL league.

Basically LOS ALTOS BOYS VOLLEYBALL are being left out, I heard they are tearing up the competition, and Defeated #8 La Serna.....So don't forget them

Anonymous said:

Temple City is 9-2
Lost in the Semi-Finals of the Arcadia Tournament.
San Marino is 8-2
Won the Silver Division of the Arcadia Tournament.
Gabrielino is 4-0
Undefeated in regular season not counting tournaments.

Tough competition.

I have watched SM, TC, and Gab this year and last year. Offensively, SM and TC are very solid. It's the first time I've seen SM actually have more than a couple of hitters that have put-away capabilities. Throughout the years, it's always been one or two stars on the team that pound it; but this year, their offense as a whole is better than it has been in the past. TC, from the looks of it, lost NO offensive players from last year. Their best players including their middle Aaron come back as a Junior with the year of club experience to make this team very up in par. Gab however lost some players whom did play a significant factor on the team. They lost 07' Honorable Mention outside hitter John Madrigal, whom actually did take a load off Tommy Tsoi. However, Tommy Tsoi of Gab (having played SCVC) has become a better hitter in terms of knowledge and power so he makes up for it.

All in all, RHL is up for grabs. SM beat SP last year due to the injury of SP's setter, but this year, in my opinion, SM returns better defensively and offensively with more height than last year. TC looks like they didn't lose a single player on their starting lineup.

RHL will be very interesting.

South Pasadena has no chance of getting league this year as long as TC stays strong.

Anonymous said:

south pas isn't getting league that easy this year...especially with david allen playing libero, they have no offense compared to TC,SM, or GAB this year

Anonymous said:

"south pas will win league...tc is overrated...sm n gab are way too up and down...lc is waiting for their next big time player...blair...wait they dont have a team...enough said south pas is untouchable"

ok..with david allen playing libero.. they have like no offense..good luck with RHL champs..TC, SM, and GAB has some serious offense this year

Anonymous said:

Anon, 3/19 2:42AM, we'll see about that. You're from South Pas aren't you?

TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE

Oak Park d. Oaks Christian, 25-20, 28-26, 24-26, 25-22
Jared Furlong had 21 kills and Stephen Thompson added 20 kills for Oak Park (6-1, 4-0). Teammate Adam Quinn had 48 assists.

Coach T. Terzian said:

An update on South Pas injury problem: David Allen played full time at Libero yesterday in a 3-0 win over Cathedral. As of today, it looks like David will be playing Libero for the rest of the season. What SP has lost in offense, David was one of the top offensive players CIF Div 4 last season, they've gained, in that David has the potential to be the best Libero in CIF Div 4.

Coach T. Terzian said:

Div 4 comments: Oaks Christian only graduated 2 players from last years team. A major upset if anybody beats them. In fact they could probably win the Div 3 CIF Championship, as Valley Christian and Santa Monica are way down in talent and experience. Arrowhead Christian shows lots of potential with great size and hitting power, they just werent consistent enough with ball handling to beat South Pas or San Marino at the Arcadia Tournament. Bishop Montgomery graduated most of their starting team last season, but will still put a good team on the court. Ironically, their new coach went to San Marino years ago. Coach Kevin Norman will get his team playing fundamental volleyball by the end of the season. Bishop Diego defeated South Pas at Redondo Beach by just a few points, basically deuce games. Mayfair's program and school athletic stregth makes them contenders at all times. They were finalist last year, but graduated some really good athletes. They'll hustle and compete on every point.
