It's time for the top 10. Who should be in it?

Yeah, but can they get their money back?

the south pasadena players are so darn attractive and athletic, any uniform pales in their presence!

Anonymous said:

Were those uniforms on sale?

Mission of San Gabriel, now that's some tough competition Maranatha.

Jim M. said:

If you put Burroughs, Hoover and Glendale High Schools together you couldn't get 9 players that can beat C.V., Burbank, Arcadia, Temple City, South Pasadena or La canada.

Sorry about that, but the Pacific league is awesome at the top, but rec league middle of the pack at the bottom.

Bad team man, Bad _____ __________ team man.

Is La Canada 2-0 in the Rio Hondo League?

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Blair should be ranked #1

You are completely wrong and time will tell. She is above and beyond those players. I am not sure what the deal was at CV, but she has more skills than all of those pitchers and is only a junior.

Anonymous said:

Alot of great pitchers in the SGV. One of the best in the SFV and the Pacific League is Burbank's Peraza. Averaging 12 K's a game, .15 ERA and 109 K's so far.

Where is the arcadia game to be played?

anonymous said:

Since when did this become the FSH SPIN blog? .

Did they or did they not lose to Alverno 3-0 to start the Duarte Tourny?

Did their pitcher give up 15 HITS to CV at the Duarte Tourny?

Lets keep it real people. Their pitcher is good. But she's not a Jenna R. nor even an Escamilla nor Pareda. I do not mean the "bash" any kid but enough is enough. Perhaps we can have this discussion after they have played some quality opponents.

I suppose those 2 "over-the-fence bombs by Sommers were just more gifts from their scorekeeper that doesn't know what he's doing...right?

Anonymous said:

arcadia vs san marino today at arcadia high 3:15

Witnessed the power hitting of one Kimmie Sommers for Maranatha yesterday in their V over Mission of San Gabriel. Two "round-trippers". One clearly over the right field fence and the other to right center. Pretty impressive.

Believe me FSHS's schedule is very tough, try Chaminade on for size. Alverno's work is done all they have to do is coast to CIF, what a luxury.

Anonymous said:

Arcadia vs San Marino when?

Anonymous said:

The Tologs schedule is tough? Their league is tough? In Volleyball yes-softball no.
The Tologs just beat a team that lost to Ramona Convent.
South Pasadena is a tougher team than FSHA.

Anonymous said:

Ok, I have to agree with this other guy. Both Alverno and FSHA have their first games of the season at full strength. Alverno wins 3-0 but FSHA has the edge? New math? Sounds like a little too much homerism.

Anonymous said:

I'm sorry that you have your facts wrong. The 3 runs Alverno scored were earned. Check the box score. No bending the truth just facts. Also check Alverno's pre-league schedule. You can't say that FSH schedule comes close to the Div lll teams Alverno's been facing... Keep dreaming....

Anonymous said:

Anon 6:53

Nope I didn't forget, but that was the first game of the year and from what I understand FSH has begun to play a little better defense and Ferri has decided just to strike everybody else out. Alverno is right there but their problem keeps coming back. they have noone left on their schedule that is difficult except for LaSalle at the very end. FSH has a very difficult schedule to deal with and that is always rewarded. Sorry.

Anonymous said:

Sscred Heart won one game 8 to 1, and Alverno won the other 3 to 0. As was reported in the Glendale News Press the 3 to 0 game was no doubt a pitchers dual between 2 great pitchers but the 3 Alverno runs were unearned and the Sacred Heart pitcher struck out 15 of that full strength squad. I'd still give the edge to Sacred Heart over Alverno.

Jim M. said:

Darn, they let the yell leader in.

Anonymous said:

Did whoever ranked FSH #1 forget that Alverno beat them 3-0 this year when both squads were at full strength and only lost to them when they had 4 starters missing, including their pitcher, who were away at a school retreat? I think so....

Mission San Gabriel said:

We don't worry about indivdual honors-we just want to be ranked.

Noninterested blogger's 2 cents worth said:

I hava neice who plays for Riverside Christian ( Currently ranked #2 in CIF and CIF Finalists last year). They are made up of a lot of Dynasty Gold 18U's. They played Maranatha last week and were very lucky to come away with a tough 8-7 win. Maranatha is a great hitting team. (They need to work on their defense though..)

Whoever anonymous 8:14 is either doesn't like the school or has not seen them play (or both?)

Ramona Convent said:

We'll play Maranatha anytime-anyplace.

Anonymous said:

Hey you Maranatha haters...

They beat Monrovia and Poly this year (thats 3 years in a row vs Poly!) but that Prep league is Uber weak so those don't really count! They beat SP 2 out of the last 3 years as well. Get your facts straight before you put your foot in mouth.

Dont hate. Even FSH's pitcher gave up 15 HITS against CV.

Who are you to question their book? Were you at those games? PSN was! Go ask Monrovia if they can hit! Their "horrible"scorekkepper played several years in the Dodger organization. (How many teams can say that) but that doesn't matter because he doesn't know what he's doing, right?

Don't let YOUR team's deficiencies influence your babble. I guess with only two of their league teams in the CIF top 10 makes them in a weak league too?

Anonymous said:

Not just player stats were questioned in Duarte. Maybe the South Pas scorekeeper can give the Maranatha scorekeeper a lesson on scorekeeping?

Anonymous said:

Why not rank some Prep League teams in the PSN Top 10. A few of them have earned it to be included.

I guess I understand why South Pas and Temple City are still PSN Top 10 teams even though they have disappointing early season records because they
play some tougher teams at the beginning of the season (but from the B&W stats. posted by a blogger yesterday in the other thread, not as tough as all of their hype). Maybe the loser of the South Pas - Temple City game tomorrow hopefully not be dropped to the bottom, if not out, of the PSN Top 10. Each will likely establish themselves with more local wins.

A team I can't understand why they are ranked is Maranatha. They basically have a .500 record and as is the case every year, they play a very low level schedule and they seldom ever play PSN Top 10 teams. If you're team ever plays them, take a look at their post game stats. on Maxpreps.com, they
way over state the stats. of their players, but in talking to others I guess everyone knows their posted player's stats. are a joke. This year they played in the weakest pool in the Duarte Tournament and when they played any decent team they got spanked.

Unlike Maranatha, Prep League teams never avoid playing the better local
teams in the PSN Top 10 and I think deserve recognition with ranking in the
Top 10. Why reward teams that seldom ever play the better local teams and post inaccurate stats.

Anonymous said:

1. Flintridge Sacred Heart- You can't beat them if you can't hit Ferri.
2.South Pasadena - Few locally can beat them.
3.Alverno- Pitchers rule
4. Temple City - LaCanada finds a way to ruin people's opinion of themselves.
5. LaSalle- more talent than people think.
6. LaCanada - consistency is the hard thing.
7. San Marino - back to reality, but they are still a better team.
8. Maranantha - losing to mostly good teams.
9.Arcadia - Will probably gat a wild card in their league
10.Poly - don't take them lightly
