Maranatha coach headed to Colorado citing family reasons.

Maranatha High School officials announced boys varsity basketball coach Doug Ravasdy is leaving the school to move to Colorado, where he has accepted a coaching and teaching position, for family reasons.
“I think it’s going to be very difficult to replace a coach of his caliber,” Maranatha athletic director Brian DeHaan said.
“I’m thankful for his commitment and the success that he had at Maranatha, and I wish him success.”
Ravasdy compiled a 68-39 record in four seasons at the school and led the Minutemen to back-to-back Delphic League champions (the school’s first league titles in 30 years) and back-to-back Division V-AA semifinal appearances.
“I appreciate Maranatha the opportunity to start my high school career,” Ravasdy said. “I leave feeling confident that the program is in a good place and I look to see continued success in the future.”
The Minutemen, who finished 20-8 in 2007-08, will have nine returning players, including four starters next season for whoever takes over the program.
“We have a very talented basketball team and we’ll begin accepting applications immediately,” DeHaan said. “I’m looking for a coach who’s committed to excellence on and off the court, and someone who loves Christ and whose lifestyle reflects that love.”
