We are voting for a boys and girls Athlete of the Year.
This won't be an easy choice to say the least.

Small Prep School or Giant Public school doesn't matter.
Annie Kim is the choice.

What are you looking for in athlete of the year? More than one sport, good grades along with athletic ability? Just wondering .. beacause theres alot of kids at some of the smaller prep schools that are both very good athletes and good students.. sometimes they get over looked..

i've seen your son play and he is a great player.. but more importantly he's a nice kid and a smart kid..don't let these fools get you down.. i undrstand being proud of your son. i also have a son who played three sports and excelled in school...long after their sports are over trevor will have a good paying job, an education and a great life..

Anybody who has ever played mid to upper level volleyball knows it is no wimp game. I am not talking picnic volleyball with Uncle Louie and a 12 pack.
It is a power game, requiring technique, timing, quickness and yes, conditioning. Once learned, it is addictive.

I can take it. Is that name a reference to being asleep or of a dead fat Hawaiian singer. Just posting facts as I always have. Look up stats on the Maranatha game and recognize the effort, not conjecture...fact.

In recent years football and basketball players have been schooled by professionals in ballet to develop better foot work. I suppose you could look Michael Strahan in the face and call him a wimp but I suspect even you have the foresight to avoid that risk.

Yes a proud father of a fine young man that I love. Not too many football players that have the skills and finesse to play basketball and volleyball but one of them went to my high school and may end up being revered as one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game...ever heard of Tony Gonzales? Court is adjourned.

Huckster,

A dad being proud enough of his son to post his accomplishments - a jealous person feeling that they have to take the father and son down a notch or two - and you gloating about it.

I hope people on this blog bring that to your attention when you go off into never never land about your family's accomplishments.. over and over again...

Football season is around the corner - can't wait for the ignorance to begin.

Dad - well done job.

Hey Izzzzz, how about positive comments huh? This is high school buddy. I don't know who Trevor is, but it sure sounds like good accomplishments while maintaining a tremendous academic score. Kudos to Trevor whether he make the list or not. Izzzzz, how about working on your spelling instead of putting someone down? Now that's embarrassing!

sorry to trevor finchamp but thats embarassing that you went from playing football to boys volleyball...wow...and if you were to be considered for athlete of the year then you should have preformed well against some srea teams like maranatha. Yea where were you in that game...oh yea thats right, on the florr because maranathas defense shut you down, and thats also really embarassing that your dad put that comment up to nominate you

Let's see...how about Trevor Finchamp. Prep League MVP in football as well as 1st team CIF and All-Area. A second team All-League choice in basketball and the most solid player on RH Prep's first ever varsity volleyball team. A 4.0 GPA for four years. He will attend Wartburg College in Iowa on a Communication Arts scholarship

The entire Varsity Boys Swim Team for LC for winning their third consecutive CIF-SS by coming back down 20 points on the second day.

OR

Ian Mirisola for breaking four swimming records at the Rio Hondo league finals

Ooops! I forgot, according to Track and Field News, she also is the Number Three girl in the COUNTRY for the heptathlon (a seven event competition that goes over two days) as of 5/22.

Christopher Schultz said:

I think that Johanne Boulat might be a good bet. She won four individual events in the Pacific League Finals (100 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, Long Jump, and Triple Jump). She set school records in all four. In addition she was first team all-league in Cross Country this past fall. That shows some incredible versatility. I may be biased as she is on my team, but I think there is some validity to this argument.

RHL co-MvP for Boys volleyball.
