Stephen, Pasadena shut out Glendale

Joe Stephen pitched a complete game and struck out seven to lead Pasadena High School (7-15, 3-8) to an 8-0 Pacific League baseball victory over Glendale on Friday.
David Altman, Nathan Bernstein and Chris Rucker each had two hits for the Bulldogs (7-15, 3-8).
Pasadena Poly 20, Flintridge Prep 0 (five innings)
A.J. Talt (8-0) struck out 11 and went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the first-place Panthers (18-3, 10-0) to a Prep League win.
El Monte 8, Rosemead 0
Luis Avila pitched a five-hitter and went 3-for-4 with a double to lift the Lions to a Mission Valley League win.
Gabrielino 9, Mountain View 6
Stefan Jarrin drove in four runs and Matt Izumida went 3-for-4 and scored three runs in the Eagles' Mission Valley League triumph.
SWIMMING
Del Rey League finals: Andrew Barman, Avelino Enri- quez and Brian McSweeny each won two events to help La Salle take first place overall with 538 points.
Barman won the 500-yard freestyle in 4 minutes, 55.08 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.16, Enriquez took the 100 butterfly in 55.72 and 100 backstroke in 57.12, and McSweeny placed first in the 50 freestyle in 25:04 and 100 freestyle in 55.32.
