Nice!! Great Ifo. Great People. Great Blog. Thank you for all the great sharing that is being done here.

We're hoping to get that game covered, yes.

Come on Scott this is flat out rude to leave softball so far down at the bottom, please, we support your blog, you would think that you could keep it up going into CIF.

Scott,

Any chance you will cover the Mayfield vs. Malibu game?

Mayfield vs. Malibu
La Canada vs. Burroughs Ridgecrest
Temple City vs. Fillmore
Flintridge Prep vs. Schurr
Poly vs. North Torrance
South Pas vs. Big Bear

We'll be putting a post about the games soon. They'll be announced Monday.

Come On Scott,

Softball is way down the page. Its CIF time. Lets get the people to the games.

The tie breaker between Prep & Mayfield is a coin flip. Prep won the toss so they are seeded second and Mayfield third.

Thanks for covering the second Prep vs. Poly game the article was excellent.

Almont League
1.Montebello
2.Schurr
3.Mark Keppel

Does anyone know when Keppel last made the play-offs?

As it turns out, the difference in the RHL were the two 1 run games that TC won over SP in the RHL. If one game goes the opposite way they trade places. They are very closely matched teams and both should do well in CIF.

Poly wins again 10-6 and wins prep league. Mayfield beats Webb and they are tied for second in league because they split their head on games. Is there a tiebreaker?

1. Poly
2. Flintridge Prep
2. Mayfield

TC 2 - Monrovia 1
Temple City 10-2 in league.

San Marino 4
La Canada 2

Rio Hondo League Results

1. Temple City
2. South Pasadena
3. La Canada

4. San Marino
5. Monrovia

Any Poly/FP score?

Bob said:

I heard Poly beat Prep 10 - 2. They play again tomorrow.

chkyrslf said:

No doubt we should celebrate them all,but when you are picking 11 players out for awards, you may want to see who has helped their team go the furthest before you make all of your decisions.

Ranking "Area Teams" looks hard to do with the different Leagues and Divisions represented. How many teams, Leagues, and Divisions are considered area teams?
I looked at Div V and found 70 teams from 12 leagues working to make the playoffs. We should appreciate the effort it takes to make that accomplishment, win or lose.

area fan -

Maranatha also has 12 losses - maybe that is why they are not mentioned.

Maranatha has 13 wins? They Beat Poly, Mayfield and Village? Why aren't they even mentioned? Did you give them any consideration?

chkyrslf said:

Scott,

I have to say that the RHL does belong where they are. I would like to see Alverno play TC or SP. Oh well.

I think that SP looks pretty strong right now going into CIF but TC is still the team to beat in our area.

Who do you think looks the strongest going into CIF?

The question is whether some of the inconsistant play by SP and LC will hold up in the playoffs. Also what happens to Alverno when they go up against another excellent pitcher? When you see mostly weak pitching all year it is hard to adjust.

I do agree that some more prep league teams should be creeping in to the rankings as well.

The La Canada Spartans are limping into the San Marino game. So many injuries. Starting pitcher, right fielder, short stop, I think they will be down to 9 players without bringing up J.V. players up. That being said it just awesome to see the Spartans still ranked high because they deserve it.

It's nice to see a program where the coach and players don't get thrown out of games and the lessons being taught will hep them in life as well as on the field.

Bob said:

Interesting that you have Flintridge Prep listed as 8th but Poly is not ranked.

My daughter's team (Mayfield) has played both Poly and Prep twice and I would have to say they are very evenly matched. Today and tomorrow will tell the tale, but if Prep is 8th, Poly should at least be 9th.

Just wondering what were TC's "pair" of setbacks?!
