BURBANK -- The dual meet results still hurt, weeks after the fact.
The Arcadia High School girls swimming team had lost to Crescenta Valley by two points and the Apaches wanted to make up for it in the Thursday's Pacific League finals.
Arcadia did just that, outscoring Crescenta Valley 564-505 for a share of the league title.
"Every girl improved their time, or held them," Arcadia coach Janice Clark said. "It was a great day for them."
Freshman Samantha Winthern won the 50-yard freestyle, finished second in the 100 free and was on a record-setting 200 free relay team that included Tiffany Ho, Cindy Huynh and Dorcas Lee. The team finished in 1 minute, 43.71 seconds to eclipse the time of 1:44.20 set by Arcadia in 1995.
"They weren't my PRs, but they were close," Winthern said of her 50 free (25.41) and 100 free (54.62) times. "It was a good swim."
The Arcadia girls also won the 200 medley relay with Tiffany Lau, Robin Lam, Stephanie Chang and Lee clocking 1:56.24. The Apaches also had six other second-place finishes.
Crescenta Valley completed a sweep in the boys meet with Arcadia finishing second, 657 1/2-482 1/2. Pasadena was sixth in the boys competition, seventh in the girls and Muir finished eighth in the girls.
Arcadia's Karol Markowski and Clark Fischer and Muir's Laura Goodwell also won league titles. Markowski won the 200 free in 1:43.51, Fischer the 500 free in 4:58.43 and Goodwell the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.42.
The Mustangs had only two swimmers entered in the finals, and Goodwell, who competes for Swim Pasadena, was top-seeded in her event. But she failed to make a CIF-Southern Section qualifying time and will go to next week's CIF-SS meet in the butterfly, where she finished third on Thursday.
"It's different not having anyone here with me, but the Burbank coaches are real nice and I have a lot of friends here who swim with me in club," Goodwell said. "So that helps. They encourage me."
Pasadena did not have a podium finish but did have three strong appearances from Hanna Dodd, Scott Snowden and Anthony Capp. Dodd won the 100 free consolation final. Capp improved his time this week by four seconds.
"It was a great meet for us," Pasadena coach Jennie Jacobsen-Huse said. "We had 30 personal bests."

Quite interesting article. Your own web page is rather quickly growing to be considered one of my favorite features.

I used to feel tired everyday and since I started drinking juice without really changing anything else in my diet I've really managed to feel a lot better.

Mr. Lundestad said on Thursday that 36 ambassadors had said they would attend, 16 had not replied to invitations and six — from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Iraq and Morocco — had said they would not be present. .

I want to drop some word of thanks here because I know the hardship it takes to write good articles. And you have wrote a very good post which I learned from exactly what I was looking for.
