La Salle did not deserve to have more than one player in that game. The senior that was chosen to play, (Lindsey Jahnke?) had 3 hits in the game, which supports her all star caliber

She's a shortstop isn't she? How did her season compare to the SS that was selected for the private team? Maxpreps says she batted .299 with 1 extra base hit, and 8 RBI's on a team that went 0 & 8 in league ... was that all-star results? Also, 2nd team All-league is more of an honorable mention, than an indication of all-star performance. You'd have to ask her High School coach of his rationale for 2nd team rather than 1st.

I don't know about the "all 4 year assessment" suggestion. I think the final team for the Star News senior all-star game is primarily decided upon by the appointed all-star coach of each squad with the input of the area coaches. I would suggest if you have questions of why a particular kid wasn't selected, I'd direct them to her regular season High School coach ... he probably didn't push for her.

From my knowledge, the senior all star game is a combination of all four years...maybe she only had a good senior year?

Why was Wopschall (only senior from LaSalle to make All-Dey Rey League) not on the Private All-Star team?

Sorry ... typo ... it is a "league" of only 3 teams

Yesterday's 2:05 post is correct. It is a team of only 3 teams ... that is a fact. Therefore, not sure if they do All-League selections.

Also, it is in the lowest or next to lowest CIF division.

I think their is 5 team in the Horizon League. The League may not be at the top of the list , But I have seem some competition.
Depends whos playing.

Horizon is a league of only 3 teams (Alverno, San Gabriel Mission, and Sacred Heart of Jesus) in a low CIF division.

This past season 1 team swept the other 2, and the other 2 teams split between each other. Not the most competitive environment to make All-League selections.

Does the Horizon even do All-League selections, and if they do, aren't almost all of the selections from only 1 of the 3 teams?
