Madd dogg & Stang & Stang fan;
I'll be cool and take one game at a time, but beware of the wrath of a menace!!!! DOGS HOUSE IT IS!!!!!!
Stang Fan
Don't get me wrong I have nothin against Huck I wish all the dogs shared his passion it's obvious he loves HS and the more love the dogs get the better. HOWEVER, such BOLD statements and PREDICTIONS leaves him with no support from us. I wish we(Huck and I) would see things eye to eys because if we did you stangs would hear it but as I said to you last week until we beat you the floor is yours. DOGS4LIFE!!!!!!!!
Madd Dogg,
Huckster's my boy, and he does make the blog a more interesting place. BUT, I'm glad someone some phs fans realize how tired many of his rants are.
Huck,
you've got to mix it up every now and then bro. I would love it if the Stangs beat OC, but I'm not going to jump in with blind faith just because that's my team. You just gotta keep it real bro. It is what it is. And the FACT IS...the dawgs will once again lose to the Stangs...making it 13 years since the dawgs last rang the bell.
Huckster!!!!!,
"Uniforms don't "TACKLE" "CATCH BALLS" "BLOCK" OR "SCORE TOUCHDOWNS"!"
- Phs does do any of those things! thats whhy they kepp losing! you know so much about football you teach the kids how to tackle and catch! because something is seriously wrong over there!
Hukster
Out of RESPECT for Tip i'm not going to say but I'm well aware of what it takes to be a Teacher or Coach in the PUSD. Lets keep this to Football.
P.S. Being a hater to Mills. I'm so sorry he has NOTHING I want
Huskter
On your last comment you have an EXCUSE for everything. can't wait to hear the one you have for Saturday after the Saugus game. This should be good Huck at least i'll give you this you're consistant Luv Ya Bra!!!
Madd dog,
You say I lack those things you mention? Wow! I'm glad it's a lot of Pasadena cowards on here, but oh well it is your opinion. I don't like the black uni's either, but the kids wanted it, so the coach got them and times change with these youngsters. Uniforms don't "TACKLE" "CATCH BALLS" "BLOCK" OR "SCORE TOUCHDOWNS"! You say, you don't like the direction the program is going and I know Kevin is very difficult to deal with, but he keeps winning more games each year! He went farther than our rivials did last year, beating a higher a #2 seeded team. I may lack a lot of those things you said, but my mother and father has never raised any jealous men like your self! Hate him or love him, but the Dogs have been going up the latter every since he's got there! As for Tip, like I said I think he's a good coach just not for PHS.... Tip looks good in that Mighty Green and Gold!!!!
PS. Question? Why didn't Tip get the job over Mills when they both applied? I know why, but I want to see if you know? I like the big brain on Madd dogg.....
Huskter
You say where were you Dog fans during the fall of my mighty school I was there faithfully on the road in the rain it didn't matter loyal to my school i was. you see a 1,21,and 2 record since 1984 against your rival makes you a little tired especially since there were times you had the superior talent. No Mills was not responsible for most or those loses but the direction they're going is in the wrong direction. when you refer to a coach with a 70's mentality I see that as a GREAT thing. That means he's striving for DISCPLINE,STRUCTURE,COMMITMENT,HONOR,and RESPECT the latter in which you lack. He would have understood the history and tradition of the school and restored those things down to the uniforms. See to some of us Alums those uniforms have history. From the Jimmy Wilks to the Vaughn Simmons to the Mario Clark's to the Mike Sanfords', Stacey Harveys' Kenny Strongs' we were proud of those because that united us as "Dogs". We don't need to Look Like LOUISVILLE or FRESNO ST, We are PHS RED AND WHITE we don't talk it we walk it. until you get that concept you'll never know what it's like to be a "TRUE DOG" so until then it's Blah Blah Blah!!!
Madd dog, for your comment to Stang 03 on Sept 09 7:49pm
Boy, I love you hateful losers! When Muir lost the Bowl in 95, no one on PHS's staff was the coach in that particular game. Muir's coaches was Tony Crutchfield and Eric Johnson. I was on the field and E.J wanted to ask my dad for some help on the play calling, but I stop all of that to see them sorry bums fall!!!! Keep your facts straight, no need to fabricate!!!! Keep up the good work Madd dog...... Huckster with love:)
Madd Dogg; Reyes
First off, I’m not trying to represent anyone but the “Huckster”! I have an opinion and I use it on the blog, so just remember this is never personal for me. I have seen Tip, coach over the years too and I do think he is a good coach for a 70’s style type of game (just my opinion). I also think “Tip” is a better coach than my bro and the coaches at Muir, but Mr. Sanders is limited to what the Pasadena High School program needs and wants. I think PHS’s coach; Kevin Mills would be better served being the Athletics Director at PHS school. The “Black Sheep” I am! I’m not going to stop rooting for my team with passion, because we haven’t won some big games! Then you try to become intelligent and use the “COMMON SENSE” line on me, please!!!!! Where were all you so called PHS fans, when we had nobody from our community coaching the DOGS and we consistently put up 0-10 and 1-9 records? Just what I thought! All yawl had your heads in a hole! While the “Huckster” was lobbying for a Pasadena person to coach our team and the rest of us took it on the chin from our west side rivals’. As for me being loyal to my bro, you got that damn right! I’m his hardest critic too, because I felt we had the best team in the Central division and the Pacific league last year, so it was difficult to see it squandered off! When was the last time PHS won a playoff game before Mills? Mills also took winless Blair and had them competing for a playoff spot too. I believe in the Dogs and I don’t feel inferior to Muir, like my fellow PHS constituents, sorry for being a BULLDOG!!!! LETS GO DOGS!!!!!!!!!!
PS. A lot of people had a chance to go for the PHS job, but either wasn’t qualified or didn’t have the guts to take on the challenge. Mills had both and now our jealous black folks of Pasadena are trying to bash him for doing a decent job! HIDE BEHIND THE BLOG “COWARDS”!!!! I’M NOT!!!!!!!!!
Stang Fan,
I’m going to keep it coming bro and when we do win this year I don’t want to hear about the enrollment or some other bull$hit excuses! If, you really know me, then you know hell is to be paid!
Huskter,
Madd Dogg is right!!!
you sound like a broken record!!!
We bulldogs those with COMMON sense disagree with you 100% Tip record speaks for itself.
This Coach took Blair to winning record last season.
I don't know the man!!But anyone that can turn Blair football team into a winner.Have to be all good!!
After four years PHS return to CIF playoff.
Mills did O.K. last year thank to super soph class that was move up to V-team last year.Mills got to back-up his word this year!! That is the question or should PHS BullDog Nation expect to be blow-out game after game with the talents that he got this year!!AS I said it before if these young mens has Burbank,West Covina,ARCADIA,BURBANK BURROUGH coachs them. PHS may win not the PL champ all time. These coachs get most our there team year after year. Despite lack of talent.
Huskter
Being a bulldog I bleed red and white but you have to stop i'm new to this blog so i looked at the archives and Stang Fan is right, you sound like a broken record. HS has not produced the results you brag about so much, and based on the opener like you it's the same OLD song. We bulldogs those with COMMON sense disagree with you 100% Tip record speaks for itself before he took over at Marshall what was their record and what was the result. Same thing at Blair record before and after. Your not wanting him there is for the loyalty to your brother but winning is winning but I forgot you don't know about that. In every family there's a "Black Sheep" and in the Bulldog Nation "You" are ours. So when you speak you don't represent our thoughts you represent your own. So please stop, cause if you don't it's just BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Huckster,
And you wonder why a I have been hitting you with the " blah, blah, blah..." lately? Bro, I could LITERALLY cut and paste your posts from the past couple of years and they say the EXACT same crap!!! That sh** is getting sooooo tired man, you sound like a broken record. And to top it all off, whatever you say, namely winning the Tussle, NEVER COMES TRUE. So Huckster once again all I've got to say is:
"BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...."
Your act is tired....
the head coach Peterson graduated from muir !
(Stang 03 and Stang Fan for 09-09-08 comments) You Muir people are something else!!!!! I’ll let the season play out and go from there; I’m just hoping they change the time of the Tussle, because my son’s team plays PCC at the same exact time. I want to be there and talk some major $hit to you mules after we kick yawls a$$!!!!!! Tip Sanders should never be the Dogs coach, because he isn’t one of us! PERIOD! He should have stayed at Blair where he belongs! I don’t agree with my brother about 90% of the things he do regarding football, but I know the “PHS BULLDOGS” are a serious threat in every game now! Especially in the Turkey Tussle! I just hope your fans will be able to take it the same way they dish it out, because your time is just about up! BEWARE OF THE DOGS!!!!!
@ !stang!
what former players are over at La Salle?
GA,
Exactly. That's why I just can't see my Stangs pulling this one out. But again, you're rignt, this game doesn't mean anything in terms of league or CIF, which is why I love that Muir schedules these types of games. It's a measuring stick and lets them know right away what they need to do to be a good team. But hey, as they say, stranger things have happened.
I also believe that OC will handle Santa Clara and Bishop Diego. They seem to be just THAT good.
Muir game is the game of the week !
btw
la Salle by 10.... And they have former muir players as coaches .....
St.francis by 14 Riley will be 2 much for them!!!!
Long live Stang Nation!!!!!
@ New York @ madd dogg
you are right. that was '94, cause the next year at '95 is the year the moon darkened, and the sun didnt shed its light! ohhhh the humanity. Never may that happen again.
but as i thought about last nite, i realized that, because Sultan and Diesel(track and football) were only freshmen. '95 was when they all went to State and blew them out of the water. That years track team was hands down one of the greatest. They walked around like they were God's. At the Penn relays, the entire stadium stopped when they announced John Muir has just arrived! the sight was amazing. was anybody else there, you gotta know what i am talking about.
@ Goldenarm,
i saw that same special on OC. im like Muir has about 6-10 coaches on the field, most just former players. it would be nice to see that type of staff, with high FB IQ and so forth. no disrespect to the guys out there now, but face, OC is like a private club. yes they recruit major, and have all the celebs surrounding them.
Oaks has 15 returning starters...15!
the balance of "others" include lowly transfers from De La Salle and other prep monsters. Needless to say, their coaching staff is first cabin, specialized and funded to the hilt. I saw an on-air special awhile back, showing 12-15 working coaches on the field with OC. Obviously, it takes commitment and all the related factors....
It is David/Goliath as mentioned. If an upset happened - I beleive it would come against a team like Muir rather than a team like DR, whom Oaks soon faces. A great matchup will come when OC plays Santa Clara interleague. Also I have no problem seeing OC opponent Bishop Diego getting hammered a bit...since they erased us 45-0 in round 2 last year.
In the long run, whatever the Stangs do, it is the Pac league and penetration deep into CIF that matters above all.
GA,
To answer your question about JV and Freshman teams, the answer is yes and no. Muir hasn't fielded a Freshman football team in over 20 years. They have a true frosh-soph team who competes against JV teams from other schools which puts their team at a disadvantage initially. However, if you think about it, it's not that bad because the freshman and sophomores are playing against sophomores and juniors and taking an early pounding that gets them ready for varsity quite quickly. So while they may not be winning at the lower level it pays off somewhat in the long run.
I'm so happy they didn't move the game to PCC! It gives us a much better home-field advantage to play in the NW. Lord knows we need anything we can get against these guys!
NY,
I think that 1994 PHS team lost to Muir 34 to 20 but PHS beat Muir in 1995 14-7. Chris Mc Alister was the QB, Lester Towns was the FB and Mike Green was the RB and Chidi was the WR 1994. Yeah, muir was loaded with a Chucky Townsend, Joaguin Gray, Shaun Haslip, J.J. Johnston, Chip Dunn, Steve Morse, Mike Hughes, Jeremy Bonwell and his cousin.
Geez, Muir was so deep in the 90's. The track team was loaded with in coming freshmen, Obea Moore and Sultan Mc Collough.
Miguel like I said on the other blog it has to be La Salle vs. Maranantha. Muir no chance against Oaks Christian, if we are being honest. This is the biggest game of the year for both of these teams. It is on!
Miguel I think you should go to the OC and Muir game remember that OC was the state Champion 2 years ago SF and Arcadia dont have any state championship. Hopefully I will see you their.
Why is Ruben Thomas getting all this publicity one player cant win a football game. Its about a team not an individual. Miguel why dont you talk about that Muir defense, like for example the defensive line, corners, and linebackers its not an these kids are really fast I havent seen a defense this quick in a long time especially giving the quarterback a lot of pressure. Go Stangs the team not the individual.
Stangs03
It's funny that you mentioned 95 that's the year we actually beat muir. We were a stronger squad the year before and NO one thought we could beat you guys actually I lost a bet going against my school. But the Ironic thing that comes to mind is the coach who lost the game for muir is NOW calling plays for PHS. The ways things look by the time we beat you guys I might be too old to know it.
Stangs 03,
I don't think that even Chric McCalister got to beat Muir. I am fairly certain that when Chris and Lester Towns were seniors (1994) they lost to a Muir team that was led by Jeremy Bonwell at QB. Muir also had a bunch of juniors who ended up going D1: Shaun Haslip, Mike Hughes, J Johnson, Chip Dunn, Steve Morse etc. That was a strong senior class. They also had a bruiser by the name of Mikey Graham in 1995. Mikey ran for well over 2,000 the year before at Charter Oak before coming home. Sadly, I don't think he or the head coach that year even finished the season. Then EJ and Crutch became Co-Head Coaches.
Does OC have a JV and freshman team that will be visiting Lincoln Ave as well?
When Mission Viejo came to TC their freshman team wacked us 63-0, 50 at half. I remember their coaching staff flinging their arms in discust when we got a first down. They did platoon substitutions, whole groups at a time on and off the field.
I hope Miquel and PSN put up some video...and Stang Fan...at least they did not transfer the game to PCC!! Get there early...I wish it was another time than 7 Friday evening, cuz I got to stick with our opener at home.
the real hsfbfan said:

--------------------------------------------------------
TERRIBLE!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!!
I say SC by 4 TDs!!!
Cant wait for this tailgate on Sat.
GO TROJANS!!!
FIGHT ON!!!
(tip for trojan fans. if you attend the tailgate in the parking lot or around the Coliseum, there is a good chance you will score a free ticket to the game. i did it 5times last year, and 4times i got a ticket. even though its OSU, i believe in 'the system'. if not you can get drunk and eat bbq all day, nothing wrong with that)
StangFan,
That Blue and Gold, true Gold looked beautiful. I just wish we had more depth. Nothing like being on the field or sitting in the stands and seeing 30-40 players in uniform.
I would like to see more players, less coaches. I think Howard and Ray are doing a good job with the kids. I want to see more discipline. I can't imagine its that difficult to indoctrinate into these guys what it means to protect the ball. If not that, using good football IQ. When the lineman reached for the ball and caught it on Friday, I damn there blew a gasket! I know the kids are young, and still learning, but Coach Hill, or Brownfield woulda had us running and extra mile, after the game! Win or lose, we need that mentality back.
Mistakes = Mile(s)
Turnover = 50 Burpies
Facemask = 100 push ups
I guarantee these players will be on track.
I personally don't like Mills because of the whole Tip Sanders debacle. Tip should have been the main man at dogtown 5years ago. There is no question about that one. Like StangFan, I dont mind seeing the Dawgs lose at all, I mean it does provide excellent trash talking material. But as a former player, and a fan of the game, I like to see good hard fought competition. Not that Muir has been skunking the Dawgs for the past 11years, but I like the animosity, the tension before the tussle when H.S. is a bonafied threat. I think of the day when Chris McCallister was there. Like I said over on the Trib Post, we take our lumps, and press on.
Im thinking of all the potential H.S. has, yall have almost triple the enrollment Muir has. Kind of reverse of the 90's. If Muir had a fraction of the interest of parents and kids to attend there, I believe Muir would be in Southern Kali's top 10, basketball and football. I love what Tuck is doing the the hoop squad, it saddens me that Muir last bit of prominence was when i was there, thats the '01 & '02(shout out to Joe Frazier, JHall, BWillis, Ryan Hollins, Seth Davis, Devon Thomas, O.Duckworth, L.Scott). Back to football tho... I do feel sorry for the young men over there at H.S. Here is a thought, transfer to Muir!!!! hahaha... we got some PT for you over here. Once you experience what its like to be a Mustang, trust me, you'll never see H.S. in the same light! Come join the winning attitude!
Madd Dogg,
I AM ARE RIGHT!!
DON,T YOU HAVE A HEART FOR THESE HARD WORKING YOUNG MENS ON THIS TEAM!!! WAKE-UP PHS BULLDOGS NATION!!!
HOW MANY MORE BLOW-OUT WILL IT TAKE FOR BULLDOGS SEE THE LIGHT ABOUT THIS COACH!!!
All I'm going to say is stay tuned," Mills said. "We have some pretty good cohesion right now."
COACH MILLS OWN WORD!!!
AV WAS GOOD TEAM,NOT GREAT TEAM!!
PHS SHOULD HAS BEAT THIS TEAM!!!
I FEEL SORRY FOR THESE GROUPS YOUNG MENS ON THIS TEAM!!
IF THEY HAVE A COACH LIKE,WEST COVINA,ARCADIA,MUIR,BURBANK BURROUGH.SOME OF THESE SCHOOL MAY NOT HAVE ALL ROUND BEST TALENT.THESE COACHS DO HAVE A GAME PLAN AND THEY GET MOST OUT OF THERE PLAYER.THIS IS WHAT PHS BULLDOG KIDS DON'T HAVE,A GOOD COACH WITH A GOOD PLAN.MIGUEL SAID IT TIMES MILLS PUT UP!!
how about USC vs Raider matchup? I'd put my money on SC. Raiders looked terrible
Stangs03,
Don't you mean Muir does not have a valet heliopad for the elite trio? Lol...
Btw, it was AWESOME to see Muir in the 90's throwback uniforms with the navy blue and REAL gold. I thought they looked great!!!
There is NO QUESTION in my mind which contest should be the game of the week...it's gotta be Muir vs. OC. However, I will admit that locally SF vs. Arcadia is a STRONG draw, as is LS vs. "The Natha." Miguel, you did mention in the past that you wouldn't cover the same team for Game of the Week in back-to-back weeks, so I guess the SF/Arcadia game is out the window. So it comes down to the traditional-local powerhouse vs. the CIF juggernaut, or a long-awaited local small-schools game. Tough decision Miguel.
In terms of phs depth...look...just because you have 60 students in uniform does NOT mean you have 60 FOOTBALL PLAYERS in uniform. BIG difference!!!
Hey Mustangs don't bash our coach let us Bulldogs do that. You guys should enjoy our mediocrity. Like Stang Fan said he likes him being the coach. As long as he's there we'll keep loosing.
Stangs03

So PHS has all this luxury of depth. I saw Mills' comments. He cant figure who are his impact players yet? I mean come on, either the guys have it, or they dont. Only other options are the ones who are 'work in progress' players. I know nothing about Arroyo Valley, but that was a convincing win on paper. Dogs, gonna have to step it up a whole lot if they want to finish in the top 3 in the Pacific. I heard Burroughs looks ok this year. Miguel do you have to cover the burbank schools too?
I wonder if Big Willie, Joe, or Wayne will show up in Northwest Pasadena. Doubt it, we dont have valet parking.
What are the attributes of Trey Smith any how? Is he even a starter. I know Montana's boy went head to head with David Carr's lil bro, how did that turnout?
How did Coach Howard, get the Nike uniform's this year? They actually look pretty good. Kinda reminds me of the '97 uniforms. Shout out to Sultan, Diesel(Devin).
Miguel, which game will you be at? You are more than welcome up at the campus. It was fair for you to pick DRanch based on paper. Now that you have seen result, we expect you to make more informed decisions. Im not saying annoint Muir, but if we beat OC, then uh... I want to see front page news! LA Times, rides OC's... well you know what I mean, I want a full spread ont he Mustangs. j/k... not really!
