Countdown to Kickoff '08

In just one day the season officially kicksoff at a football stadium near you. The Star-News Game of the Week is Monrovia-Arcadia.
The Apaches last season put a whoopin' on the Wildcats but don't expect that to happen this season. I'm excited to see a Todd Golper-Marquise Williams showdown, Williams trying to generate the yards on the ground and Golper planning on halting Williams.
Arcadia barely has 30 players on its varsity roster but its starting 11 are no joke. There still are question marks for Monrovia at the quarterback spot. Junior Daniel Caldera and sophomore Nick Bueno were battling for the starting job during fall camp.
I'll be covering this game and we'll broadcast it live on our site from beginning to end come Friday night beginning 7 p.m.

Stang03, it was just a hunch considering they have a good QB and speedy receivers.
And Golden, nobody pretending to be the cable man. Texas A&M is huge on both lines, but the Lobo defense could be able to contain the Aggie offense. The question is whether the offense can produce. Give it a listen online if you have a chance. And thanks for the kind words.
