No. 1 USC shocked by Oregon State, 27-21!!!

I feel the same as my boy Freddy Robledo. I feel bad, I really do =)P
Ha, at least I'll have something to cheer about Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
I covered the Sanchez at Mission Viejo High so I feel for him. A little. Especially after reading Sanchez's story written by my good friend Jorge Arangure Jr. over at ESPN The Magazine.

Above: Manny Ramirez celebrates with a bottle of champagne. I got to cover a few of these celebrations, drenched in champagne. Good times.
What a day: USC loses, Dodgers clinch ... can it get any better? Oh yeah, b-day weekend celebration coming up. Thanks for the early present Beavers.

Above: The Oregon St. football team probably trying to send their b-day wishes and maybe handing me the game ball?

I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it's rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. :)
Hopefully Lane Kiffin will come home and finish his apprenticeship....
I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USC - The University of Sorry Coaching!
Pete Carroll did not have the Trojans ready at all! I think he makes about $3m per year - maybe he needs a bail-out package.
Hey, USC - just some advice - There really are no weak Division I college football teams! Some are better than others, but they're all good football players - even the 5'6" - 180 pounders!
How embarrassing!
All the hype is over. Ticket prices should go down. The novelty wore off. Five star athletes galore, all American this and that, means nothing. Game plan sucked. USC is back down to reality & USC proved to be average at best last night. Carroll should concentrate on the current team & scouting report instead of trying to hit three high school games in one night.
I thought God was a Trojan, He must have been tending to other matters on Thursday Night in Corvallis. Dodgers Clinch and Trojans Flinch! A little humility may pay dividends for the rest of the year.
Complacency within the PAC-10 has killed USC over the past few years.
Nobody played until the whistle blew. The O-Line looked lethargic (creating key holding penalties and not providing Sanchez with enough time). The Defense did not wrap up that little tailback.
I think USC would have had more success on Defense if they had played more of their backups, because at least the highly talented backups would have played with with the nervousness and sense of urgency that comes with wanting to prove yourself. Look how well Clay Matthews did!
Carrol takes this one on the chin.
Sidebar: Is there a Thursday Night Curse? It's seems like Thursday nights have a lot of upsets in College Football. As a coach and player, I always felt a bit out of sync any time we had a game that was not at our usual time, even on the same day.
With the talent load, and I mean load, at USC, how can this go down? Is it arrogance, too much time absorbing headlines and hype?
I am in agreement with the real hsfbfan fan on this one, it is 100% preparation and mindset. In football, you cannot just show up and expect your opponent to shiver in fear and concede your dominance.
Oregon State and the state of Oregon is gonna be high for weeks on this. Congratulations to the Beavers...
somewhere in Las Vegas walks a man who was formerly considered insane - but now has a HUGE pocketful of money
I am speechless. Who takes the blame? Pete Carroll should take all of it. They weren't prepared. McKnight looked like a freshman out there. The looked so bad on defense that I think any pac-10 team would have beat them. Beating Ohio State is meaningless now. The whole season has just faded way.
The Pac-10 is horrible this year. In regards to the polls, I wouldnt be surprised if USC fell to 9 or 10.
