Post Game: UCLA, Ohio State crushed!

| | Comments (45) |

Again,

OH.

MY.

GOD.

It's funny because people who REALLY know me know that the reporter in me (and the unbiased fan in me as well) would have known UCLA was going to have a hard time against a potent BYU offense. The reporter in me would also know that this USC team is arguably Pete Carroll's team ever. I would have liked to see the Pac-10 fare better on Saturday.

OH.

MY.

GOD.

c'mon, I know yalll thought UCLA had NO chance but still, 59-0?!?!?!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

New York Giants jerseys is very beautiful.

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the nfl, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

Interesting fact:

"Since Pete Carroll took over the Trojan Football program for the 2001 season, we have lost 14 games by a combined total of 59 points. It only took Skippy New-weasel 1 loss to match that record!!!"

Fight On and Beat the beavs!!!!

USC's victory was par for the course, expected. Best team in the land should beatup the best of the Big Ten.

I take no satisfaction with UCLA getting blown out. I just hope BYU has many Cali guys.

I hope anti-USC people are not too MADD about this.

I appreciate the vote of confidence in my Cats. Good luck to everybody tonight.

I'll say this I see well be going at it like Nadal and Fed didn't expect that good of a "back hand" on the Snoop remark but that's what I get for admiring my shot. From here on out it's wristbands and headbands time to sweat. And with that I must start to get ready for the big game. have to be early for the BIG WILLIE arrival i'm sure they'll have 2 metal detectors to go through(The LAX kind of welcome) hey they might even run a credit check Lol!!! So until tommorow football junkies I bid you Adue!

P.S. MONROVIA bounces back takes it out on Duarte

By the way, we would have put Texas away early on if Reggie Bush had not tried to lateral the ball in open field for that turnover. I think that would have been 21-0 in the first quarter on our way to a route. Oh well. We seem to have recovered from that loss fairly well.

New York said:

I am certainly not knocking OSU or the teams from the SEC. But your use of Snoop wearing LSU gear is a bit odd. Is that suppose to lend credibility to the argument? Ever heard the term "Madd as a Hatter?" Maybe you should change your name.

Noklahoma? That is a funny name. The true reason we can say that, though, is that USC beat them so badly that OU has really not recovered. OU was THE team to beat for a couple years leading up to that.

USC has been so deep recently that the NE Patriots QB never even played during his tenure at USC. That depth continues with Sanchez and the guy from Orange Lutheran. Don't they have the guy who started at Arkansas last year as well?

USC's biggest problem has been mid-season complacency against the Stanfords, Oregon State's, etc...sort of like the weaker teams you mentioned that play up when playing a big team.

Georgia finished strong last year, but so did SC! Michigan beat Florida and Tim Teebow very soundly.

Whether or not USC wins tomorrow, I have no doubt that they were the best team during the bowl season, proving it by beating a good Illinois team.

Madd Dogg said:

New York

Please don't use NOKLAHOMA in your reference to a legit opponent. Boise State enough said on that. If not for Dixon's injury we wouldn't be having this discussion about SC and as far as Georgia this was without a doubt the best team in the country last year. Missing last years SEC title game cost them their chance at the big dance. And to knock OSU for two championships games where was SC. They were SUPPOSED to be the#1 team in the country and you guys say over-rated. Why not open your eyes like ya boy SNOOP DOGG who could be seen at the LSU alumni luncheon wearing a TIGER jersey. If Illinois is the frosh-soph what is Stanford the pop warner. Even if SC should somehow win this they haven't done anything until they beat the big 3 of the SEC and that's not happnen. SO enjoy this today because after tommorow the new thing will be "HOW COME WE DIDN'T PLAY THE QB FROM O LU"

If your a SC fan or not...
If you know anything about football, then you would realize that the trojans are so loaded with talent on both sides of the ball,I won't be surprised if they go
Undefeated this year. They are by far the #1 team in the nation and they will prove it 2morrow.Buckeyes will get
BUCKED in the colliseum. It will be a blowout so don't take the 10 1/2 points in vegas its a sucker bet!

New York said:

As long as we are looking backward, SC's dominance over Illinois was more impressive than Georgia beating Hawaii. Hawaii's offense was based on timing. Take a month off and your timing is a bit rusty. Besides, HAWAII???

I can't beleive that people continue to overlook USC. Remember how many people thought Oklahoma would be too physical and wear them down? What a joke. USC's mammoth and athletic lineman combined with a stable of runningbacks is a lot to handle. I agree that OSU is one of the best teams in the country, but what is SC? Georgia? We'll see if they can sustain success. Even Florida last year was a deer in the headlights against Michigan. Guess who has owned Michigan lately? SC.

New York said:

I don't know why you keep making reference to OSU getting throttled the past two years in the title games, as if those losses are suppose to impress anybody. OSU's problem is that Trussel is still around. That guy has been a complete deer in the headlights the past two bowl games. Name USC's last non-conference loss other than to the super human Vince Young and Texas(nail biter). Did OSU make Illinois look like a frosh team the way SC did last year?

This is a new season anyway. Nobody has been able to reload the way SC has the past five years.

Madd Dogg said:

Here is a quote from Terry Bowden as to why you shouldn't put too much stock into OSUs' last game taken from a conversation with his father Bobby Bowden College Footballs' all-time winning coach.
Remember this, Terry, no matter how hard you try, you are not going to be able to get your kids mentally ready to play every week," he said. "Football is a game that must be played with great emotion, and your boys can only get up for so many games a year.

"That's why you better always be fundamentally sound. You better take care of the little things and be able to block and tackle because some days they're just not going to be ready to play."

look at the Virginia score last week Youngstown and Ohio could beat them. These teams our powerhouses in their repsective conferences, and to play the BIG BOY in the State always has those teams fired up REMEMBER SC Vs. Fresno St. They gave them all they could handle and then lost to Tech was SC that bad or did Fresno get up for the giants of the state. OSU isn't coming off as over-confident, but after playing the likes of LSU's D-line and facing the two-headed monster in Florida I think they like their chances in this game. And PLEASE!!! I don't want to hear another person say the SEC is overrated. If those GEORGIA BULLDOGS came to DENA instead of Illinois who's taking baby steps SC would have gotten smashed.

You are absolutely crazy to think that UCLA will beat BYU in Provo or to think that OSU will beat SC by a touchdown. I am a die hard UCLA fan and I hate USC with the heat of a thousand suns, but there is no way that UCLA will blow out BYU. Most sportsbooks have UCLA 7.5 underdogs and SC up by 11 points. I hope that your predictions are correct, but there is no way that you are going to be right!

I agree with you NY, I don't understand why rivals go against each other. This year I have the pleasure to work with a Bruin Mom, mother of Mike Harris, he's a lineman for the Bruins. She was telling me that whenever the Bruins get a chance they sit around and watch the SC game and root for them to win, alot of the kids know each other and want the other to do well, except for when they play against each other. I was telling Ms. Harris Ill be cheering for the bruins all year except for one game, thats when they play my Trojans!! FIGHT ON!!! Can't wait till tomorrow.......

New York said:

Virginia is no OSU. BUT, playing Virginia in Charlottesville in the heat and humidity is a much tougher test than playing Youngstown State (I-AA) and Ohio (MAC). By the way, USC had a better showing against UVA than OSU did against those two schools.

At the end of the day, though, it is all about the head to head matchups and coaching. I think USC has better personel on the field and wearing the headsets.

Madd Dogg said:

Wow all of this based on a SORRY VIRGINIA team. USC has not been tested at all. The questions about the line are still there. Sanchez performance was not spectacular. Who couldn't complete passes with a 3 man rush comin? The receiving corp will get DOMINATED by a real secondary and as far as "speed" LSUs' D had plenty of it and that didn't stop Wells from takin it to the house. Two trips to the Championship game win or lose(espicially when SC didn't get there) tells me OSU is not worried about its' visit to L.A. They realize this loss would take away any credibility for them in future bowl considerations and the BIG TEN will leave Cali 2-0 after this weekend

What a joke you UCLA fans are. The Bruins completely lucked out over Tennessee.
As far as USC and Ohio State the final score will be more like USC 48-Ohio State 14, with Ohio State scoring meaningless touchdowns after the route was on.
USC is too big and fast for Ohio State. The big Ten is as overated as the SEC.

LC Anon said:

Miguel, your bias is obvious, and it's starting to detract from what you should be doing, i.e., reporting on football, volleyball, etc.

New York said:

I've never understood why people route against their rivals, other than the games when they are playing each other. Wouldn't it be more impressive if USC is undefeated when UCLA beats them? Doesn't it say more for the PAC-10 that USC has been dominating non-conference opponents. I can't remember USC's last non-conference loss other than to Texas a couple years ago. That record makes Stanford's victory last year and the Bruins victory a couple years ago more impressive. If the USC of the 1990's reemerges, that will be bad for everybody.

Thankfully, USC continues to dominate. I anticipate USC beating OSU pretty solidly. As many of the Big-10 and SEC biased pundits have finally realized, USC is not just a high flying pass-oriented football team. USC over the last few years has turned into one of the most physical football teams in the country as well. Oklahoma has still not fully recovered from that stomping a few years ago. Heck, Charlie Weiss has a horrible record at Notre Dame, but he got a massive contract extension after a close loss to USC.
