Alhambra, TCity: Bottom two but who goes where?

Last week's rankings had Alhambra at No. 9 and Temple City at No. 10, respectively.
Both teams lost last week. If you drop them out of the rankings, what teams get in?
If they both stay in the rankings, do they keep their ranking or does Temple City get the No. 9 spot despite the loss?
Consider this:
Alhambra lost to Schurr, 38-24: The Moors (3-3, 0-1) could not capitalize on some of their offensive drives. Alhambra had a chance to go up, 7-0, in its first possession but squandered the opportunity. Darrian Cazarin hit Mitchell Crockom on the first play with a 67-yard pass, but all the Moors got out of it was a 25-yard field goal from Brian Gonzalez. Schurr countered with a 43-yard field goal and then Robert Duran ran for a 3-yard score to make it 10-3 before going into the half with a 17-3 lead. Alhambra's defense vanished in the second half as the Spartans scored on three consecutive possession. Cazarin had a great game. He finished the night completing 14 of 25 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown. But the running game that Coach Gil Ruedaflores said they'd implement so far is nonexistent. The Moors were held to 18 yards rushing on 12 carries. Can't live by the pass the rest of the season.
Temple City lost to Monrovia, 13-7: Some probably expected Monrovia to blowout the Rams. But Temple City kept this game closer than many expected. The main objective for the Rams defense was containing Marquise Williams. That didn't happen. Williams rushed for 244 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns that came on the ensuing possessions following missed field-goal attempts by Temple City. Both of Williams' touchdowns were 80-yard sprints. Overall, Temple City's defense clamped down the Wildcats resurgent offense. Max Ruckle scored on a 5-yard run to cut the Rams' deficit to 13-7 with 5:31 left to play. Monrovia failed to score on its ensuing possession, giving TC one last change to win. Not sure what's the deal with Joey Stewart. He's not mentioned in the story and it appeared the Rams preferred the passing game against a secondary that played back. Temple City's running game could have taken advantage here. In any case, the Rams played a stout Monrovia team tough and nearly pulled off the upset.
The polls 1-8 will stay just about the same. No movement there (I'm sure Muir will argue that).
But does Temple City takeover the No. 9 spot because it played the No. 6 team in the area tough?
Does Alhambra drop one spot despite having beaten the Rams earlier in the season?
Tough call, eh?

What a release to find out a page that may be present finally in actuality worth reading! I’ve been seeking all-around about this focus but men and women now put trash posts, or brief meaningless article. I contain looked at a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the same as reading a good article.

Thanks for the info but I'm having some problems seeing images.
I love the expression. Everyone needs to express there own opinion and feel free to hear others. Keep it up :)
You certainly deserve a round of applause for your post and more specifically, your blog in general. Very high quality material
Your blog was very well done. Can't wait to read more.

You certainly have some agreeable opinions and views. Your blog provides a fresh look at the subject.
Whatever that was about, I can only say that people try to make deities out of themselves. The world should learn to shut up once and for all.
Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the nfl, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.
The growth of online shopping centres makes it much easier for you to update your wardrobe for summer online.
A thoughtful insight and ideas I will use on my blog. You've obviously spent a lot of time on this. Well done!
Hello...state I didn't had a great read from a extended time.Truly happy i discovered it on yahoo.I was talking with my friends three days ago around this topic and I have to state you clear out a lot of things. Thanks and good luck
Well, there you go. This is exactly why people use screen names. Whatever....do what you like. And no I wasn't on punishment (didn't you get the memo about overused and unoriginal humor) your hackneyed, boring-a$$, cliched posts are punishment enough. Look, get a name and a team and the we can banter back and forth. Well, it's almost "knoon," and I "kneed" to take my "knap."
Joe Amat,
What do you mean by "rehab" people once in a while??? You are not talking Clockwork Orange, are you? All jokes aside, I am happy Amat is doing well again. I think sometimes people forget that local private schools are full of LOCAL kids who deserve support.
goldenarm,
if you mean LC by we then no we are running the 3-4
goldenarm,
I agree with almost all you had to say (and when I visit this side - I most often do). I was responding to one of the Anonymouses (I think now he will call himself "Cialis") when he was on Miguel because Fred's "getting is almost 3times as much as yours.hhhmmmm, wonder why?" I definitely think everyone need names. Freddies got it hooked up so you have to type SOMETHING and it won't automatically post "Anonymous". That helped.
I wish we could filter out ALL of the garbage, but it goes in cycles and only a few topics bring out the worst (right now everyone is on "Mike the Clone" from Glendora - a knowledgeable football guy that has opinions that they don't like). But we "rehab people every once in a while and guys come around. Much less Amat smack than a year ago... funny thing.
I'm with you that "you got some bad boys over there."... always have. Depth is the issue that sets some back team wise.
You and New York keep doing your thing, the Stang Gang can pitch in and Huckster can be stalwarts and keep sharin' the knowledge. Quality debate is great. As long as Miguel is layin' 'em down you guys keep pickin' 'em up!
Stang Fan
I see you had time to wake up from you little knap. First off let's get 1 thing straight.
1- I'm Not new
2- A High School Supporter who lives his life through his Alma Mater
3- Full of "HYPE trust me dog or Stang as you like it I can bring it.
4- A "Fault Finder" with our rookie reporter.
With that being said, as Joe Amat said stir up the pot. Who's the chef? Miguel. He asked for SUGGESTIONS regarding his poll. I gave him one.
Controversy seems to ruffle a few feathers, and a who's in, who's out situation is one way to get people to speak up. As far as it being the bloggers who make this thing go. Are you saying you're the lifeline of this blog. I've read your material bro. you have no pulse! Topics do it every time.
And for the record I haven't singled you out, but after not hearing from you in a few days(maybe because you were on punishment)I figured I'd give you a holla....
Stang Fan,
I will admit that it can be confusing when the blogger uses the anonymous tag. But I’m the anon from the other thread last week, the PHS fan. You’re speaking to a different anon on this thread. Isn’t it interesting that you project the same image to more than one person? LOL To cut down confusion I’ll give myself a moniker from now on. Funny, Good Luck Mustangs.
Again, my bad, that's me below...
It's always interesting to see new guys jump on the blogs with all their little hype and new enthusiasm. They come in here with what they think to be original humor, you know, something that no one has EVER said before, and they type away and click their little "submit" button and giddily chuckle and giggle to their heart's content, and they are just oh-so-enthralled with themselves. It's almost adorable, really. It's good to know that something brings that amount of joy to one's life.
So to you Anonymous I say, "Bravo, chap!" If you have found that niche in life that makes your heart warm and your skin tingle, then again I say, "Bravo!" If I am the target of your joy and happiness than I say, "I am honored sir, and it is my pleasure."
But do us all a favor. Mix it up a bit. The overused bits just really lose their flavor after about their 27th appearance here on the blog. ESPECIALLY the one about "living with mom." Come on Anon, I know you're better than that.
And if YOU took the time to read Joe Amat's response, as well as my own, even YOU could figure out that it's the bloggers who make these things go, not the sportswriters. Hell, the LA Times blogs are proof of that.
So Anonymous, continue to be the fault-finding prep sports gadfly that you are because your team brings you no joy. Hey, if that's how you pursue your happiness, I've got no problem with that. Good luck to your team this Friday and have a great weekend!
Can someone please check some facts. I believe that Alhambra's next win will be Ruedaflores 100th win at AHS. This is I believe his 18th season. If this is true, He is a .500 coach who could not in a million years win a section championship.
I covered the 200th rio hondo league win( basketball) of La Canada's Hoffman career. In 22 seasons he is 200-22 in league play. Now, thats impressive.
You Alhambra fans have your work cut out for you. If the Moors cant beat Montebello, the only win on the schedule is Mark(can't get right) Keppel.
Stang Fan
It's good to see you finished you chores and were allowed time on the computer last night. See if you weren't so sleepy and read my comment to miguel correctly you would have gotten the point.
I was stating to him that other teams were deserving of a spot in his top ten polls. I used an example of the college game to show why this would be a good thing to do. With the traditions of some of the schools in this area, don't you think they would have a little to say if they were recognized?
Imagine the response if La Canada were #10 playing San Marino. No Spartan or Titan would have anything to say? This would be a bigger game than how it stands now.
Even if some of these teams loose and drop out the following week, Their 5 minutes of fame would be enough to generate more interest and more fan support.
so quit using the population excuse of the east 605.
Btw- I don't need a blog name. you get my message every time and respond appropriately. so it's time to punch that clock and remember. Wash your face, brush your teeth, take out the trash and have those dishes done if we want to hear from you today!!!!!!!!
Miquel,
Thanks for today's piece on TC/Blair in the PSN and for following up on the Monrovia game, adding some stats and details...it sheds light that the TC kids game to play...not just that Monrovia stumbled and had an "off" night. It shows your penchant to get to the facts.
This was the pivotal game, and may turn out to be the deciding game, in who lands where in the RHL this year.
SAN MARINO - LA CANADA
LC has both top sackmen in the RHL, with 5 sacks apiece. Throw this into the mix with a back up QB now at the helm for SM - could get real interesting.
Counter that with the man responsible for putting together SM's O-line, Mike Mooney, and it gets more interesting.
SM will likely be looking for quick routes, slants and short hooks, WHEN they do pass.
Matt - are you guys still going with the 4-4?
I just posted and got snagged by the editor - here is my own "cleaned up" version, maybe it will get through

Blog hit numbers do not define the quality of the blog.
In credit to the Trib site, yourself, Don, Trojan Man and a circle of others are a solid core who always provide very sound fball input. However, topics at times are so congested with mindless crapola, toilet humor, refried beans and watermelon cheap shots, and repeat entries intended only to disrupt or derail the good exchanges - it becomes near impossible to find the intelligent commentary you first came looking for.
There is a solid core of contributors over here as well, just definitely not as many. Though far from immune, we have suffered less from the slurs and kid bashing which now and then scum over the quality topics Fred puts up.
Maybe Miquel's numbers need a boost, he is new, carving out contacts, he has not figured it all out yet, but he is burnin oil, downing Red Bull, and that kind of effort leads to success.
On a final note, on individual talent, the ongoing comments about WSGV kids not be able to swim in your pond is baseless.. Team to team is one thing, individual performance is another. We got some bad boys over here.
One day maybe someone can galvanize the Valley in a manner that "ups" all the kids on both sides - that is the high road we should all be shooting for.

IT'S A SHAME THAT CROCKUM AND CAZARIN DIDNT HAVE MORE "TALENT" AROUND THEM, SO THEY COULD "COMPETE". THE ALMONT LEAGUE IN DOWN THIS YEAR AND ITS SAD THAT THE MOORS HAVE 3 OR 4 "PLAYERS" MAX.... THE KICKER #24 I THINK IS A "REAL PLAYER" ....AFTER THAT MAYBE 44 AND 82 IS A "HEAD CASE" WHO DOESN'T PLAY TO HIS BODY SIZE HE'S A LOOSE CANNON..I DONT REMEMBER "ANYONE ELSE" FROM THE 2 GAMES BOTTOM LINE CROCKUM NEEDS "HEEEEEELP!"

"ANONYMOUS" you must be kidding "yourself". YOU sound like a mad parent..let me tell you this crockum is light years better than anyone on the ALAHAMBRA TEAM AND THE ALMONT LEAGUE as far as that goes..Im serious your an idiot- to not be able to see that crockum is a real player on a NOT so good "TEAM"...you said football is a team sport and other players are busting their butt too. well hell i cant tell i seen 2 of the moors games and to tell you the truth they have LITTLE talent at best...SOFT up front and no running game so the QB and crockum really have no chance to succeed.THAT REAL FOOTBALL TALK not crying about "favortism!" i think crockum touched the ball 8 times in the 2 games i seen..thats real favortism! right there..if i was the coach he would touch the ball 15 20 times a game!!! he's a play maker but while the rest of the "no names" you are talking about are getting their hard working "butts kicked" the QB doesnt nhave time to throw the ball to #1 so they will have a long season...the question was PLAYER OF THE YEAR "not crying parent of the month"..who's your son does he block ?can he tackle?..too bad crockum has no shot at PLAYER OF THE YEAR BECAUSE LIKE YOU SAID THIS IS A TEAM SPORT ON HIS TEAM MATES (YOUR SON) CANT DO HIS JOB TO ALLOW CROCK! TO GO DEEP.. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT BS.....CROCKUM IS THE REAL DEAL! WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT... "MIGGY" YOUR ARE DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THE BLOG.. P.S. SCOTT IS GOOOONE! GET OVER IT PEOPLE HE'S GONE! PARENTS WITH SOFT SONS DONT COME TO BLOGS YOUR FEELING WILL GET HURT!!! IF CROCKUM PLAYED ON A REAL TEAM WITH A LINE HE WOULD AVG. 200 YARDS A GAME AND 3 TOUCHDOWNS!!!! PROOOF!!!!
Anonymous,
Live with my mom and dad, hunh? Well, truth be told you are COMPLETELY off.....my dad left my mom YEARS AGO! On the bright side though, ALL of my Fruit of the Looms are IRONED! Awesome, right? Not many guys can walk through the streets of 'Dena with THAT distinction.
Listen, if I was a phs fan I too might come on here without a name and knock every single school for some fault or another. Losing hurts and makes us bitter and vengeful. I understand how you feel. Oh wait...no I don't.
The least you could do though is be somewhat knowledgeable about what you comment on. The hits on the Trib's blogs have ALWAYS outnumbered those over here on the PSN. They have WAY more schools and most with bigger populations than the ones on the west side. It has nothing to do with Tolegian, Robledo, Galetti, or Melendez.
And yes, we are heading toward league championships and playoffs, but it only "feels like the start of the season" because your team is sitting on one, single, solitary win. See you at 1905 come the middle and end of November.
Joe Amat
Okay I'll do that. I've ponderd over this and I will start off by giving myself a blog name. It has to be unique. It has to serve a purpose. and most of all and has to get results. So from this point on i'm coming on as Cialis. Perfect name for what this blog needs. a little help. and you have to hit me early cause i'm good only for a short period of time.
Miguel, are you kidding me! Mitchell Crockum... are you blind?! The only way that young man catches the ball is if Darrian just happens to drop the ball in his hands. And everyone knows that is a small miracle within itself. Give everyone a break and stop hypping these two guys up so much. I do believe that football is a team effort, not a 2 man team! You should of taken some tips from Goletti. At least when Goletti was writing he gave props wher they were due. Their are other posistions on the team that do participate in winning the game. Try mentioning other players and posistions these players have for a change.
And by the way, they other players do work their butts off during practice. Unlike the favorites being Crockum and Cazarin. Yes their if favortism! It's a shame.
Anonymous (whichever one you are),
The Trib blog blew up before FJR even got there and he's made it a kinder gentler place (for the most part). One thing that helped was our instance that knuckleheads at least use a little creativity in their blog name and even better - use one consistently. So take some responsibility pick a name and go with it. It creates more conversation, people know which blogger they are responding too, and you develop supporters, haters, and even build some relationships - which creates even more interest.
Then you do need to develop the straw that stirs the drink. We've got that on our side. Do you think it's a coincidence that your highest blog numbers are after Amat visited your side of the 605?
Patience is a good thing - but stir things up and get this blog going. Look at the bright side... you could be in Whittier!
Miguel
Since your new i'll excuse you, but you need a one on one with Robledo. He would have had the heart to move T.C. and AHS out of the top ten. He had the area with plenty to talk about. Teams moving in and out. Kept the juices flowin with the bloggers. Gave the other schools something to spout about. I looked over at his column and the response he's getting is almost 3times as much as yours.hhhmmmm, wonder why? I know most of us have to work to pay these high mortages, west of the 605 and we don't have alot of time to blog. But cmon' dude get this thing pumped up i'm tired of hearing the same people. These are the ones who have time cause they still live with their mom and dad (Stang Fan) hint hint. We're gettin closer to league championships and playoff spots, and it feels like the start of the season. cmon it's your show!
why does your logo include Texas A&M and Iowa State?
Regarding the Pasadena Poly vs. Rio Hondo Prep game this Friday. Rio Hondo Prep needs to protect their quarterback (offensive line needs to do their job) and their defense needs to stop the powerful running game of Poly in order to win!!!
Lets drop John F**ing B from the blog. How about that?
from what i have heard about joey stewart is that temple city is being plagued with politics. he was the go to guy in the begginning of the season now he is being made their fullback that only touches teh ball 3 times a game. he had over 140 yards rushing in the two games u gave him the ball from what i understand he can make good blocks but this kid is a talent being wasted over there. give this kid the ball he is a bull and it takes 5 guys to tke him down. he is a redzone back. coaches quit screwing this team. RUN THE BALL!!!

Viking fan:
Please stop! You’re embarrassing yourself and the team. There is no way possible Blair will beat any team left on their roster. They did not/could not beat Jefferson. Our only hope of a win is with South Pas, and that is a HUGE maybe!
YOu might as well leave TC out of the top ten b/c Blair is going to beat them this week and take their spot :)
Jon F,
How about that, Mr 3 TD's prediction himself!
Rather than further degrading your credibility with any type of prediction that requires football sense, focus on breaking that 18 yards per game rushing barrier that keeps haunting you.
Be thankful your Moors do not face Monrovia and Marquise Williams.
I hereby grant you sole possession of spot #10 on the list. At TC, we don't strive for 10th place anywhere.
Drop TC out of the top ten, we suck in the red zone.
The "story" of the Monrovia game was much different than reported.
M-town completed zero passes and had one intercepted. Cushman and DJ Cole had maybe one touch between them. Williams totaled 18 carries, a low number for him. TC had 15 first half 1st downs and put together drives of 75 and 80 yds...all against a "bad ass" M-town defense.
With 530 in the 4th the Rams kicked off to Monrovia. Monrovia didn't "fail to score", they were held on 3rd and short and punted back to the Rams. TC drove from their own 20 down all the way to near the M-town goal line....making several outstanding "get out of bounds" to stop the clock plays. Once again, inside the 20, the Rams could not figure it out, this time overthrowing a wide open man in the end zone corner. A pass 16 inches shorter and the Rams tie the score and set up for a game winning PAT.
These fools who keep preaching TC should have got beaten by 3 TD's have no clue how this game unfolded. Fortunately fans who saw the game know different.
31-7 is not close at all. I was curious b/c another blogger made a case that it was a close game and I was too lazy to go back and find the score.
I THINK YOU SHOULD DROP TC OUT OF THE TOP TEN COMPLETELY! THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE THERE, THEIR COACHING HAS BEEN HORRIBLE, CONSTANTLY MAKING BAD DECISIONS, NOT UNDERSTANDING THE PERSONNEL THAT THEY HAVE AND USING THEM INCORRECTLY! IF ANYONE SAW THE ALHAMBRA GAME, THE MOORS SHOULD HAVE WON BY THREE TDS IF NOT FOR TWO PICKS DROPPED THAT CLEARLY WOULD HAVE BEEN TDS. AGAINST M-TOWN IF THE CATS WOULD HAVE EXECUTED BETTER THEY WOULD HAVE WON BY AT LEAST 3 TDS. TC'S DEFENSE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH M-TOWN ONLY SCORING 13 POINTS. IF I HAD TO RANK TC IT WOULD BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WSGV! WHERES MOONEY WHEN YOU NEED HIM... AT SAN MARINO GOING 6-0!
How close is close? SM 31 - SP 7. Not that close.
Miguel
Here's another thing to consider. You have a lot of locals that have interest in the areas sports. Put a team like that in like I suggested and their attendance is sure to go up. People like the feeling of thinking their supporting a winner. Helps the players as well.
Rio Hondo & Flintridge Prep are both coming off losses with Poly beat Prep 28-14 this past weekend. It should be an interesting matchup between Poly and Rio Hondo this coming friday and will likely determine who will go on to win the league.
Miguel
With the answer you just gave i'm kind of wondering? What really then is the criteria? If it's a matter of who would win if teams played each other, than it's quite obvious the higher divisions would get the nod. But that's not fair. Look at the college top 25 Do you really think the likes of say a school like Ball State
ranked#20 would beat say Miami, Fsu, Illinois, Cal, Michigan State? These teams are ranked lower, or unranked at all, but if they had to play on the field Ball State would last MAYBE 1 quater. It's Ball States body of work against their opponents that gave them their ranking. Each team realizes a loss automatically drops them. The system rewards teams for success. So with that being said, let's give the La Canada's a shot wouldn't hurt anything. And considering their 3game win streak I would think they earned it.
Miguel,
South El Monte's coach and wide receiver led the WSGV to victory in this year's HoF Game. Why is SEM not part of the PSN coverage? Same question for Duarte and Arroyo.
Well, how have Rio Hondo Prep, Pasadena Poly or Flintridge Prep been playing? Didn't South Pas recently have a close game against the #4 team? What is South Pas' record?
You should poll your football writers. Ask each of them for a top 10 and then publish the the ones with the most votes, like the AP top 25 poll and coaches poll in college.
Miguel, You may want to consider La Canada, for the moment they have the best momentum of any team to stay in the race for a possible playoff birth. But if you are locked on the two teams Alhambra or TC..I see TC at this day in time being the better of the two. They have established a much better running game and have more confidence on the line of scrimmage than before.
but if u drop them what two teams replace them? who's out there that can argue to be in the top 10? my answer: none.
Miguel
The answer is not so complex. Who had the tougher opponent? If you think both are equal, then the next thing would be head to head. But be careful with that because some teams are playing much different than they did when they played each other. For instance. Do
you think Arcadia would be superior to Monrovia? or do you think LaSalle, Maranatha would be a close one? That's the problem you have with teams who played each other early. The other option you have is throw them both out the top ten. That's the price they both pay for loosing and you can't argue with that!
