I went to the Mayfield tennis match today and would have to add a nomination for Adriana Diakite - she was dominating in her match today.
Then I went to the Mayfield Volleyball match vs. Westridge, and would have to affirm my previous nomination for Susan Carlson. Everytime Westridge got any momentum in the game Mayfield would set to Susan and she would crush the ball. Keith Lair was at the game and I hopefully he will confirm what I am saying. I heard that Mayfield came in second place in the Ayala tournament on Saturday. I am sure this was a) because they are a great team, b) because they have very good coaching and c) because Susan is such a dominant force on the court.
I think that you guys are forgetting one of the best teams in the area, Arcadia. I believe that Cara Mang, Taylor Degraaf, and Stephanie Lagace are some of the best athletes in the area and they should not get overlooked.

Outstanding offensive and defensive performance this week, taking Mayfield to a second place finish in the latest tournament amongst higher ranked and larger schools.
I would second the nomination of Michelle Gonzales and also nominate Susan Carlson. Susan has led an outstanding Mayfield team dominating their opponents.
Michelle Gonzales, Mayfield Senior School Cross Country. Placed 9th at Mt Sac Invitational with a time of 19:20 to help place the team 2nd in the Div 4 Sweepstakes.
Courtney McCutchan over at La Canada. Is a good volleyball player and leads the team.
